This is why job qualifications are needed for these positions in Gov't, even if they are elected.
It depends what the charges are for. Some politicians are former activists. They might have records for peaceful resistance, like many from the civil rights era. Several current representatives and recent candidates were arrested for protesting the overturning of Roe.
Democrats put their freedom on the line for defending our rights. Republicans, however, prefer to be arrested for corruption, sexual assault, common assault, public drunkenness, and trying to overthrow elections and our democracy.
Being a criminal is a must and a prerequisite on order to be in the republican party.

It's long been rumored (by peers of their son, his baby mama and their community) that Jayson Boebert was actually the one who got the girl pregnant. The 911 blow up was supposedly around their son having been forced to be named the father because that looked less bad (especially by Christians) than Lauren's husband having knocked up a teenager, thus hurting her career.
Shortly thereafter Lauren either filed for or just announced their divorce. Could be a lie but sounds VERY on brand for them.
