- Yom-e Marge Kharoon, or the Day of the Dead in Iran, is one of the traditional and important celebrations in Iran that commemorates the day of death and honors the souls of the deceased. This day is held on the first of November every year, corresponding to the tenth of the Iranian month of Aban.
On this day, families visit the homes of the deceased and set up tables with a variety of sweets, fruits, drinks, and different foods as offerings to their loved ones who have passed away. They then recite prayers and verses from the Quran to invite the souls of the dead to their homes to partake in these offerings.
The purpose of Yom-e Marge Kharoon is to remember death, life after death, and to connect with the souls of the deceased. It is also an opportunity to spend time with family and friends and strengthen relationships with them.
