      [Edit: Fishmonger] I have no idea why balloons are so impressive. The butterfly is the only one that flies by mechanical means (it's the only one that's not lighter than air). Dirigibles were being made a century ago. No big deal to grab some Mylar and helium, balsa wood, a servo mechanism, some wires, glue,a valve, a scalpel, an RC xmtter and receiver, a propeller and a battery. It's a huge deal to get something heavier than air to fly autonomously by means of flapping wings, and not only that, but to steer left and right, and ascend and descend, and have live streaming cameras, plus a complex two way simultaneous C3 system with collision avoidance.

    The butterfly has been around for at least 4 decades . My dead grandfather worked for a toy company in Toronto and would bring home samples that he was selling to department stores and he gave my brother and I, at the time we were about 13 and he gave us the same toy that was powered by a big elastic band! Before a lot of toys hit the market he would give us the samples to play with, which now in retrospect he was probably using my brother and I as test subjects ,unknowingly too us.....to see how much fun and time we would play with the toys he would bring....we were spoiled little brats. Especially at Christmas Anyhow the light weight butterfly would fly for about 10 seconds then crash...!

    • @hugojaime9565
      @hugojaime9565 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @sebas Stein I’m trying to understand what you are saying, I did not say that the drone industry had to learn about air resistance designs or about propulsion I specifically said “Energy Efficiency” when most drones can only be in the air from 15 to 45 minutes and that thing you called “ Basically an air balloon” which was actually lifted by robotic arms in motion not hot air by the way, can be up for 2 hours that says something about how to keep things up for longer, but again I am trying to understand what you are saying and I can see why you say that drone/balloon jet/hot air balloon 2 different things with similar purposes.

      @@zefellowbud5970 no need to get sarcastic- he didn't even answer yet. It was just a short statement, that this thought is for dreamers, who don't know science. The wind speed on Venus is 300 to 400 kilometers an hour. What do you think, would happen? Additionally Venus' atmospheric pressure is 90 times higher than earth's atmosphere. So the wind blowing effect would be 90 times of a hurricane with 400 km/h on earth..... I want to see that jellyfish (cute and beautiful and nice artwork 👍) on Venus "flying"..
      Might work on Mars. Mars' windspeed is around 100km/h, but atmospheric pressure is about 1/100th of earth's. So even with high windspeeds the wind pressure effect is pretty small.
