I'm a Potter fan, and I'd be more than happy if he came to WH. He did REALLY well with Brighton, setting them on the road with a football philosophy that still survives to this day and let's face it, Chelsea were a mess when he went there, so holding him responsible for not succeeding is more than a trifle unfair. If I have a gripe with your views Geo it's related to Dan Ashworth and his Man U signings, or at least the cost of his signings £36.5. for Zirkzee? £45m + add ons for Ugarte? and a staggering £72m for Hojland? He'd have been worth a gamble at £30m but £72m? That way lies madness!
Two ITK's on a well known west ham website (one a journo) are both saying Lop the decision has been made sack Lop, with one of them saying that neither he or his staff have been informed yet. Only at West Ham. Stay classy (as ever)
If potter does come in we NEED to sign a cb so he can use his 343, all our cbs compliment each other well in a back 3, lets mavro be aggressive and covers for when it doesnt work allows all 3 to dribble out. We would be so much better
@HammersChat my 4231 gegenpress goes crazy ngl plus id sign at least 4 south american 18 year olds, anyone thought guilherme was an odd one, this club aint seen nothing yet
I didn't think Sloppy was going to last much longer. I mean what does he have to do to get sacked? I would take any half decent manager at this point. If we appoint Potter, he will not be an interim, that's for sure. I really believe the club was worried of losing Potter to someone else.
I understand the desire to have a solid FA cup run but I’ve always based my thinking on the fact that in the last 40 years, a team outside “the big 6” have only won the competition 3 times I think - Leicester Wigan & Pompey. The chances of us pulling something off must be so slim, I do understand why it isn’t a priority for the club.
True and I appreciate my argument is slim here due to previous winners but 40 years ago there weren’t as many sides playing European football and the fa cup may have been priority for every club, not sure that’s the case now Even the champions league has changed this year so clubs have an additional 2 matches and we currently have 7 PL clubs playing European football with some others in with a solid chance of qualifying as the top 8 could be European football. I’d expect Forest to bin it off and wouldn’t be surprised if Bournemouth or Fulham did too.
@ yeah that’s definitely true, there’s more “openness” now plus the games for the guys already in Europe. Would love to see the stats change as would certainly make the cup more interesting!! And also there’s the who would have thought West Ham would have won a European trophy piece too. I just think it’s a bit like the playing academy players issue these days. There’s no true incentive for the manger to bring these players through unless they’re wonder kids - unfortunately their job and the pressures are so short term to deliver which means they don’t take a more wider view. But then that’s down to the club to create the environment to allow for them to go for youth and cup runs etc Should take the time to say loving the content 👍
As much as I want him out, I still feel a little bit for lopetegui. It must still be very strange for him to read these articles and see the pictures floating around, not knowing if he is sacked or not. Hopefully the club will act swiftly now, because it is a bit of a circus at the moment, and we need to get it sorted before a very important game on friday. Hopefully it will be Potter coming in rather than Cooper, and much rather than Lopetegui staying,
I think there first choice to replace j lo was potter……and now potter being linked to Everton over uncertainty over dych future….. so are they going to act before they lose any chance of potter so are they being pushed by the Everton rumours to act
I don't think this is the case but if it was a straight shootout between Loppy or Copper - making it harder it's either one and guaranteed to the end of season as no risk of relegation - I'd be pained to say it but if it was the case I'd choose J Lo, 100%, not even close to 99% - despite it taking half the season I'm actually beginning to see improvement n the changes I wanted prior to the season, it's too little, too late for me and I think Potter, not Cooper, would improve us everywhere throughout the team and we'd see improved performances n results quickly... Hoping we're giving Potter the job prior to Villa, agree with the F.A cup thoughts n cld be a route to Europe as well as aiming for 8th..! Potter not my first choice, n I'm not anyone but Lopp, but think he's a decent coach that'll do well and will not be a surprise if he earns the job n a longer contract come the season's end 🙏⚒️
Another Brighton fan. Son of a West Ham fan. Potter pros - Good at organising the team. Good at coaching players. Good at getting players to take responsibility on the pitch - No one shies away from receiving the ball. Good at getting involved with the community of the club. Potter cons - We’ve not seen him work with a club as disorganised as West Ham. Takes a while for his philosophy to bed in. Strong at coaching defence and midfield, but weaker up front. Might still be damaged by the Chelsea experience. I would have had him back at Brighton, but to a lot of fans, the Chelsea taint is hard to get over🤮 I would have rather he went to Man U😄
Hey Geo mate, do you think that these leaks have all out mostly had a German accent this season..? It does seem to tally timeline wise... I'm not talking purely top level bcos we know Sully leaks more than Thanes Water and I'm not saying he's wrong in it all, what's good for the goose, is good for the gander after all... Thing is I'd be impressed if Steidten has links at TalkShite, I expect he's smart enough to work around it using a network to get it out thru them, would be impressive considering how much they dislike him, they're deffo team Moyes and still blame Steidten for crazy stuff that's obviously nothing to do with him... I do wonder if it is all negative bcos he's all on his own - with the media, the coach/manager etc, him getting blamed for transfer misgivings that are nothing to do with him, I've even heard Phillips blamed on him... I think he's done well but do think he's stepped above his station a cpl times... Regardless I think Fullkrug will turn out to be a success, an expensive success granted... Also, watch Guilherme thrive under Potter, if pray God he comes in, and us not want to lose him... Then if he stays, watch him sell Paqueta for a profit in the summer after a not guilty verdict regardless of paqmàn not a regaining his old form, brief as it was... To judge the man, Tim, so quickly is crazy, he has hardly had a chance since he's come in and I do think he's been given a tough assessment thus far... Also, none of this is aimed at you Geo mate, I've just seen a lot of negativity, a lot of people thinking to try get rid of 2 birds with 1 stone... I'm sure the Ashworth rumours will be out there by now and by morning on social media, if not in the press, it'll be that Potter won't sign on with us unless we sack Steidten and bring in Ashworth , watch this space... Thanks for the hard work today mate, imagine it has been difficult to juggle with a newborn baby, tired missus etc, not got an indication of whether Grace sleeps well from your performance or appearance , yet, you don't look massively tired but that might be well hidden or on its way, father of twins here so been there going you aren't, yet at least lol... Great work as usual regardless or in spite of it all mate lol 😅 👍
TBF I think we should try and get Potter and Ashworth in together, I DON'T think he would infringe on Steidten... Ashworth is more to set up systems behind the scene in the club, I attribute Brighton's continued success as Ashworth's success, he set up the model and was there to see it run efficiently enough to leave all this time and it still to be running successfully... He isn't a scout, a pearl diver or whatever you think Steidten is (oi, no, not that..!), I actually think Potter, Steidten and Ashworth could be a massive success as a team at West Ham TOGETHER..! People seem to think Ashworth and Steidten have the same job, I think Man Utd made that mistake too lol 😆 but it could be to our benefit... P.S , watch this space with Guilherme if, pray God, all this comes off 🙏 ⚒️
The fact Sullivan doesn't want Potter makes me want him even more

Few ITKs saying he has been sacked.
Loppy got the choppy! 😂
Hope your daughters much better,Geo.
This is what we were demanding, why criticise?!
I genuinely don’t know what you mean
Best news of 25
Until it goes wrong and don't improve
Best news I have heard since the start of the season.
Best news I have heard since the start of the season.
I would rather reincarnate Tommy cooper
There's rumours that dyche might be going as well xx
Love old school !!!…… hope you daughter is ok geo
Two ITK's on a well known west ham website (one a journo) are both saying Lop the decision has been made sack Lop, with one of them saying that neither he or his staff have been informed yet. Only at West Ham. Stay classy (as ever)
You can name them here…..it makes my job easier too 😂
Jinxed and DDH on Kumb
@@rstubbington - yes, those two (DDH being Dusseldorf Hammer)
I want to get excited but it’s not official yet . Sullivan please just do it this club needs a lift for the team and the fans .
We should've relaxed and gone in for Mourihno
Ohhhh Geo/Gonzo anyone from the listener base IF Potter is the replacement, does anyone know of his potential backroom staff(who are they?)
If potter does come in we NEED to sign a cb so he can use his 343, all our cbs compliment each other well in a back 3, lets mavro be aggressive and covers for when it doesnt work allows all 3 to dribble out. We would be so much better
But is your CV ready?
@HammersChat my 4231 gegenpress goes crazy ngl plus id sign at least 4 south american 18 year olds, anyone thought guilherme was an odd one, this club aint seen nothing yet
German News outlet Fussball Transfers have confirmed it.
I have 100 crates of german pils beer.i need helpers to drink it
Nothing has come up on sky sports about him being sack
It’ll be good to have an Englishman at the helm, call me old fashioned, but it’s how it should be.
Old fashioned
@@HammersChat 😉
Reigning PL champions coached by a non Englishman....
Not going any time soon and will still be in place for the incoming villa debacle
3-4-3 with 2 fit CBs and no wingbacks - let's hope Potter has been changing/adapting his style after Chelsea
I didn't think Sloppy was going to last much longer. I mean what does he have to do to get sacked? I would take any half decent manager at this point. If we appoint Potter, he will not be an interim, that's for sure. I really believe the club was worried of losing Potter to someone else.
I think perhaps Everton x Dyche have sped things up a bit
Hope ur daughter is all good mate , just a wild one , how do you recon noble would do as an interim manager?
I understand the desire to have a solid FA cup run but I’ve always based my thinking on the fact that in the last 40 years, a team outside “the big 6” have only won the competition 3 times I think - Leicester Wigan & Pompey. The chances of us pulling something off must be so slim, I do understand why it isn’t a priority for the club.
True and I appreciate my argument is slim here due to previous winners but 40 years ago there weren’t as many sides playing European football and the fa cup may have been priority for every club, not sure that’s the case now
Even the champions league has changed this year so clubs have an additional 2 matches and we currently have 7 PL clubs playing European football with some others in with a solid chance of qualifying as the top 8 could be European football.
But then that’s down to the club to create the environment to allow for them to go for youth and cup runs etc
Should take the time to say loving the content 👍
Cottee seems to think Potter will be next manager.
I agree with this
It will be nice to have cup of tea back, but I wish you would keep it.
We can’t really due to the way we do TH-cam now, unfortunately.
I was also a big enjoyer of the cup of tea back when, not sure if I'll be able to make it this time due to the time difference and work
@@aNameOfSomeSortOrOther it’ll be there to watch on playback
@@HammersChat Cheers Geo, looking forward to it! Exciting times ahead I hope
And how has getting rid of Moyes worked out for you then?
So just to avoid doubt, your not keen on Steve Cooper?
Steidten going too apparently
Every chance, eventually.
Finally!!!!
Another Brighton fan. Son of a West Ham fan.
Potter pros -
Good at organising the team.
Good at coaching players.
Good at getting players to take responsibility on the pitch - No one shies away from receiving the ball.
Good at getting involved with the community of the club.
Potter cons -
We’ve not seen him work with a club as disorganised as West Ham.
Takes a while for his philosophy to bed in.
Strong at coaching defence and midfield, but weaker up front.
Might still be damaged by the Chelsea experience.
I would have had him back at Brighton, but to a lot of fans, the Chelsea taint is hard to get over🤮
I would have rather he went to Man U😄
Moyes OBE 😂😂😂😂
Only facts here!
