England's Historic 1066 Country Walk - A hiking film

  • Hiking through English history. 35 miles in 48 hours along the 1066 Country Walk in East Sussex in the South of England.
    The hike passes through beautiful English countryside, past historic castles and through the quaint yet famous town of Battle where the infamous Battle of Hastings took place in 1066. It's a great walk for nature and history lovers alike.
    Our itinerary:
    Day 0 - Travel to Pevensey Bay
    Overnight stay in Airbnb - Airbnb on the coast
    Day 1 - Pevensey to Battle - 19 miles
    Overnight stay - Abbey Hotel
    Day 2 - Battle to Rye - 15 miles
    Overnight stay - Flackley Ash Hotel
    Day 3 - Explore the town of Rye

    Paper maps are always recommended for long walks in the countryside but the trail is well way marked and if you have a GPS device then you can download the route here: www.gps-routes....
