I was there at the BBMAs and it was an incredible night!!!!! Here's my feeling about the broadcast video vs. all the great fan cams. Billboard has been in love with BTS since last year. Look at all the articles- the cover of the magazine and all the gorgeous photos. Plus the tweets and articles by Billboard staff have all gushed with love for BTS. I've heard that the BBMAs director planned the audience shots ahead of time because it was his WISH to show America and the world how much the boys are loved. I have to agree, once I knew this, because being there in the audience was absolutely ELECTRIC. The arena was shaking with our screams and chants - through the entire show, as well at the performance. I had clueless muggles on each side of me and they were BLOWN AWAY by the audience reaction - even before BTS won the TSA or performed. They had never experienced anything like it and asked me to explain it - which I did, OF COURSE! The guys next to me became instant fans and couldn't believe they had lived under a rock and didn't know about BTS. They were enthralled even BEFORE the boys performed and it was because of the electric energy of all of us fans. BBMA believed that would make the broadcast audience really want to know more about BTS. I have to agree, so don't be too upset about the excess views of the audience. I was there and I can tell you for a fact it was the audience who did BTS proud for new fans. We are all SO spoiled by great Korean TV coverage - but at least we have amazing fan cams to watch forever!!

I feel like BBMA’s constant cutting to the audience was meant to belittle BTS’ success. It’s like they’re trying to say that the reason why BTS is so popular and globally successful is because of the obsession of crazed teenage girls instead of BTS’ meaningful lyricism and their hard work. This performance is largely reliant on choreography and this stage was meant to showcase that and to show the choreo that wasn’t captured in the music video, but once again US camera work is sloppy and showed none of that Disappointed but not surprised

I literally felt the same about their AMA performance.
The camera work on the Korean comebacks shows are just phenomenal.
I was soooo miffed at the camerawork
In defense of the camera people they don't get practice videos before hand like the korean shows do so they probably didn't have much to work with either...that being said i wish they'd stop panning over to the crowd every 2 seconds
But they only did it during BTS‘ performance and not to the others.
They also had rehearsals not only once sooo... We can agree they did Bts dirty with their camerawork.
That's what I was referring too. Like I remember them at the AMAs not being satisfied with the camera and were changing things up to the last minute. I mean I get it ARMY is a phenomena they haven't seen ever, but this a comeback stage boo, we here to see the stage, not the beauty we see every time we look in the mirror.

I feel like BBMA’s constant cutting to the audience was meant to belittle BTS’ success. It’s like they’re trying to say that the reason why BTS is so popular and globally successful is because of the obsession of crazed teenage girls instead of BTS’ meaningful lyricism and their hard work. This performance is largely reliant on choreography and this stage was meant to showcase that and to show the choreo that wasn’t captured in the music video, but once again US camera work is sloppy and showed none of that

I totally agree with you Jose. That was my first thought as I was watching. I wanted to see more of BTS performance since it was their comeback on American television and less of the audience. We as an audience who weren't able to attend the awards show deserved better. They deserved better. Its true we have to wait for their Korean comeback and to what I've seen today its going to be epic. Much love 😊✌ It was funny when you hit your elbow when you saw Jungkook's abs. I actually choked while eating my menudo hahaha 😂
