- Hike along The Old Kenmare Road in The Killarney National Park.
Walk through some beautiful woodland and emerging onto a upland valley with fantastic scenery.
In the depths of Autumn the colour really was something else.
For more on this hike and some images, i have a blog post on my website

Started at Galways Bridge / Derrycunnihy where there's room for a good few cars. Overall hike was around 9km, on trail/old road/paths as shown in the video.
All shot on the DJI OSMO Pocket 3 with the exception of the Robin and Deer shots. It’s really enjoyable using it and the footage I think is a big improvement over the GoPro. I am finding the audio different to edit than on the Rode so apologies for the ups and downs. Finally, a lot of close up head shots, yikes, 😟 , will learn for the next time.
Subscriber Aida posted this link in the comments, it’s very informative and interesting, thanks Aida :

Having done this walk many times I enjoyed your take on it. I would encourage anyone who is in Killarney to get out and experience the wonderful scenery it has to offer. Thanks Eddie.
Thanks very much, and I totally agree. The video is 11 months old at this stage, meaning we’re heading in to the Autumn Season again, hopefully the colour will be as spectacular as last year 🤞. No where better than Killarney to see it. 👍😁 🦌
The colours Eddie, are just phenomenal. You described it as moody, and it just added to the atmosphere of the whole walk. Just brilliant. Great to get see so much wildlife too
Killarney is really putting on a show this autumn alright, as you say the colours are phenomenal. Looks like every autumn is going to be spent down here from now on, which is no bad thing tbh.... thanks again Alyn
Truly fabulous Thank you Eddie for sharing the splendour
It’s a beautiful area for sure, thanks 👍
The shot of that Stag was incredible! Killarney is dear to my heart and also to my heritage. All signs point to this area as the cornerstone of my family’s past. Maybe the cornerstone in one of those many walls! Thank you for another fabulous video!
thanks Gary, I know the locals don't get too bothered about the deer, but I love seeing them. I've a good bit of footage over the last month of them.. they are fantastic looking creatures...
Great video Ed. This is deffo a walk I'll put on my to do list. The forest sections are class
Sound James, I parked before at the carpark above Torc and did the full length and back again, a nice walk, but long, You could spend ages in the forest bit alone with a camera.. :D
This will surely inspire a lot of people to explore this place up-close! Great filming bud.
Thanks Ervin. It’s a place I’ve driven by many times over the years and never gave a thought about going in there. I’m so glad now that has changed. And like you say, might change it for others also. 🤞🏻😬
Great stuff Eddie. I wasn't aware of that walk, but its added to the list now!
i've done it a few times now and enjoyed it every time. If the cloud is too low, you also have the option to go downhill just across the road from the church. Still all woodland and another big waterfall down there. thanks Adrian
really nice video Eddie, it was lovely meeting and chatting to you at Derrycunnihy Cascade this morning, and rest assured that your mushroom was still intact when we left :-)
thanks Terry, was nice to met you also. Hope ye had a great morning.
Haha, a younger me would be worried about that last bit... let the focus stacking begin....
Beautiful ❤
thank you Pia :)
Hi Eddie nice vid thanks. We retired to live in Kerry last year (from England) and now live in Listowel. I'm just getting to know the area (for landscape photography) - I went on this walk yesterday and enjoyed it. Got as far as the Torc mountain path before it dipped down the other side. New location, new camera, new lens - that kept me quite busy. Enjoyed your other vids too - Three Sisters etc. Keep up the good work ..!
Hi Michael, thanks for watching. If you’re just getting to know the place you’ll be spoilt, there is absolutely so much to do and see around here. Yea, this walk Is very nice and depending on the season it’ll offer something different each time.
New camera, new Lens, nice
no better place to be heading out. 🥾
The Stag, the water, the lichen, the colours, what else would you need if you love and respect nature.!
Couldn’t agree more Robert 👍🏻 it’s a fine place to go thru. 😀
Nice video. I went that way once, began at Torc waterfall. At the church, where you probably parked the car is a way which leads down to another big waterfall and an abandoned old house. That is a really nice way.
yea, I tossed a coin that day and decided to go uphill, hope to do the other one soon enough, altho Lord Brandon Cottage will be closed by now, so no soup at the mid way point. The woodlands really make this area for me.... thanks, Ed
Lovely video Eddie 😊
thanks very much foreverirish132, Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful walk. Bet you missed the graffiti made by passing soldiers serving in the British army on 1815. You passed it going up Esknamucky Glen. Interesting bit of history.

thanks Aida, I didn't know that. between the noise of the water and the path being somewhat slippery with the leaves, I didn't cop it.. I'll keep an eye out the next time for sure.
