    Thanks for actually getting into the tech side of the signal flow. TH-cam still blows my mind how much you can learn if you really dig.

    Thanks for the video interesting video. Appears the schematic has been pulled.

      Thanks for noticing it. I switched hosting and the file was left behind. Here is a link to the schematic zenzeroelectronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/rratt-schematic.pdf

    This is an invaluable video concerning pedal building. You have great insight concerning op amps. I’m surprised there’s not more views or comments on this video. I too have found that jfet op amps have a great sound vs 4558/1458/741. DOD used LF353s on some pedals, gives it that nasty crunch, the supra distortion FX55 is an underrated pedal. The Rratt sounds pretty dang good. I would like to know what made you add to the circuit, and also why you went with a MOSFET rather than a JFET. Love this video and your op amp comparison video.

      Sorry for the late reply! I've found the MOSFETs I use by chance and I really love them, they sound great and they behave really consistently. Those are the main reasons why I use those over the JFETs. Thank you for watching!

      No worries on the late reply good sir. Looking at the CD4007 (MC14007) , it’s almost like two mosfets in one package, depending on how you wire it up. It can also act as two switches and two amplifiers. Have you ever used this chip in a pedal before? I feel like most people who understand pedals, are only in forums and it seems not many fully understand circuitry. And the ones that do seem to be very full of themselves. You are neither, you seem to understand circuits well and you are humble. A rare combination in the world of electronics! Lol. For me this video, and a few other of your videos, are like my holy grail to pedal making and understanding. Just want to thank you a second time.

      Thanks again! Those CD4007 and MC14007 look like some interesting packages, surely versatile, but I don't have any direct experience with those. You could certainly design a whole pedal around just that chip, if it sounds good. This article says the CD4007 was designed for digital but could be used in the analog domain no problem www.electronicdesign.com/analog/whats-all-cd4007-stuff-anyhow

    Hi Dud;
    Your ZenZeroRratt sound great and thanks for all your explains!
    You've got a level,you share it and in a true way!!
    i'd like to make pedal ; i have some questions:
    what kind of mosfet do you use?...
    and when i look at your pcb ,during the soldering, i see 2 ic(the lf353p is a dual) ..and may be one mosfet ...can you explain please?
    Thanks :)

      I don't divulge what the MOSFETs I use are just because that's the only "secret" I have about my pedals. If somebody would really care, it would be easy to reverse engineer my pedals and figure it out. Anyway, you are correct, one IC is the LF353 and the other are the MOSFETs. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks for your answer,it’s a little bit more clear for me now;)I like mix 2 effects circuits ,like OD&fuzz or two fuzz,to make some crazy distos ..but I have more larsen troubles than you,héhé!good continuation!!

    Hi, Do you have any other suggestions of OpAmps to modifiy the RAT besides the LM 308 and the OP07DP???
    Thanks, Best regards!

      Some use a TL701, but it's got a bit too much high end to my ear. The OP07 sounds pretty close to the 308 however.

    Thanks for the video, can i use carbon resistors i don't have any metal resistors with me does it change anything ?

    • @zenzeroelectronics4778
      @zenzeroelectronics4778  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure. The only problem is that carbon resistors have usually higher tolerances, so they are not as accurate.

    I like the OP07 for the IC chip. Readily available and pretty cheap. It sounds great!
