    It's low risk, high reward, not ZERO risk. I still think it's a bargain because Lakers do still have options if it doesn't work out, don't overplay the risk

    Unpopular opinion: it was Jamal Murray that really defeated the Lakers , because of those wild shots that went in in the clutch.

    Ham is a HUGE defensive minded coach. If this guy is on this team, HAM definitely sees something useful in him and feels he can turn the kid around.

      I don't think he's that good of a defensive coach though 11th last season. And I understand that after the trade deadline they were much better but it was primarily reliant all on ADs dominance in the middle. When Vogel had the Lakers at that no. 1 spot the team was much more versatile defensively and wasn't solely reliant on AD and it was still dominate if he missed game's. I have little faith in Darvin Hams coaching abilities he relies way too much on Lebron and AD and doesn't utilize the talent around them properly. I just think the talent on the Lakers was just that great it was certainly better than the 20 season's team

    A lot of people seem to focus on Jokic and how he killed us yes he averaged 27 against us but what about Murray, KCP, and Michael Porter Jr?? They killed us too it wasn’t we couldn’t stop Jokic we weren’t committed as a TEAM defensively. There were plenty of possessions where players were not locked in, not boxing out, and just being flat out lazy as a team it had little to do with not being able to stop Jokic individually.

    • @ryanr20091
      @ryanr20091 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      i agree because there were times Jokic was held in check down the stretch but murrray was consistently cooking our so-called top defense thats who we needed to stop because Jokic is going to get his numbers, but Murray can't average 30 on us that was really the main problem.

    As a mavs fan, I watched Christian all season all year. He's not an off the ball player. Only way he's productive on offense is if he has the ball in his hands, he's like an iso big (who travels on almost every play btw). I don't see Bron n lakers running plays for him or letting him iso lol so he's gonna b pretty useless on offense, he doesn't rebound so no put backs, he's too slow for a quick catch n Lay up n obvs on defense he's useless, n an absolute cancer in locker room. There was a reason y we n no one else wanted him. So good luck LA...n have fun 😅. Let's see his attitude wen Ham makes him come off the bench for 10-15 min a game.

  • @totg13
    @totg13 ปีที่แล้ว

    He has flaws but... "He can rebound well, finish around the rim, and he's actually good enough of a shooter from deep to help spread the floor" - Sounds like Kevin Love when he was with the Wolves.

    Wood would be a one season experiment for the Lakers. If he improves his defence and fits, he may stick around. If not, he will probably walk or get cut. As for Wood is a defensive liability, my answer would be: Vanderbilt is a liability on offence: he can't shoot from 2 or 3, he can't pass and he can't convert simple layups. If the Lakers can cover for Vanderbilt, they should be able to cover for Wood for one season.

  • @urbaindelva7869
    @urbaindelva7869 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wood is a decent addition, but just like Hayes, he's nowhere near the viable big the Lakers need to back up AD, especially not on the defensive end. If I'm Darvin Ham, I'm getting on his ass immediately and letting him know that his reputation will not be brought here.

  • @Alexander-id4wl
    @Alexander-id4wl ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Lakers’ best minutes against the Nuggets were when AD was allowed to roam on D. It didn’t happen that often, because he needed to play Center.
    Now… I’m not saying that the Lakers, with a reliable Center will beat the Nuggets this year, but they’ve got a better shot.

    • @MsCamicam
      @MsCamicam ปีที่แล้ว

      Jokic didn’t beat the Lakers Jamal Murray did. The Lakers lost to Denver because they didn’t have a solid enough front court. In my opinion Murray was the MVP of that series. Despite Jokic give or take 3/4 points in three of those 4 games and the Lakers win the series! So all this stressing over Jokic is overblown. The Lakers needed shooting!
