I don’t know how to say this, But this reminds me of a comedown or a failed suicide. Feeling you made the 99% but you miss by 1% and you keep going because of the little misfortune that keeps you alive. What I’m trying to say is, this reminds me of my last day alive or the end of a movie. No more repulsive nights of being in a daze, no tired depersonalization, or any reason to want to fight. Just a melancholy transition to death or an acceptance of it is what it is. Seeing doja make music about her highs with uppers and psychedelics, suicide tape and now a beautiful album that defined my 2019 and discovering her old boho discography makes me feel as if I made it. My sadness is temporary healed when I imagine myself as her, by vicariously seeing her come from a dream to workless nights to a successful artist. This song didn’t mean much to me at first but as I keep on listening, I appreciate the beauty of it. She gets it. With the song addiction, well, baby.. I’m an addict too. I hide it with seductiveness and up beat tones but it’s still an endless cycle. Better than me, I’ve been cheated on. Lonely, I’ve been a second option for most of my life. She helps me discover a new Rhythm in my soul that stops me from cutting, just getting high and continue daydreaming or become impulsive and hyper-sexual because that’s all I can do to mend myself from life. This fucking song, makes me feel as if I made it. That I won’t rot my brain from drugs, I won’t die from weak bones or dehydration. I will hopefully be someone one day, but as I listen to this..
