I am glad that since this video they have made the rule that nobody touches the horses. I don't know why it's taken so long for this to be decided. It is clear that this rule is the interests of the welfare of the horses and watching the latest videos one can see the difference in the horses' behaviour which for the most part is now much calmer. I imagine it was probably hugely stressful for them to be constantly touched and poked by strangers, even if it's for one hour at a time. I don't even know what took them so long to say "don't touch the reins"!!! But then again, why did anyone ever think it was OK to grab a rein? I do believe that a lot of tourists think that the Guards are simply actors playing a role, and are there simply for the tourists to take photos. That would explain the disrespect they experience. I am sure if the Guards were stood there in battle dress uniform, they'd realise that they are serving soldiers.
I read that and it made me sad face. But, it made me happy that the horses would be on level ground even though the tourists will still be able to get too close.....**sigh**
I understand people wanting to just see the horses and what goes on there. But I will likely never be able to go to the UK again, it's already been over 45 yrs.
