    Brian, your willingness to ask real questions this year has been a real refreshing part of press conferences.
    I haven't missed a Pete / Mike presser for the past few years. I'd become really frustrated that reporters so rarely asked questions I wanted to hear the answer to. Your questions have been a breath of fresh air.
    No matter how much I might disagree with some of your takes, I am grateful we have you in those pressers. Keep it up!

      Between both sports teams it’s like state controlled media… it’s frustrating that the local media bows down for maintain access,

    Brian, I usually never pay any attention to coach press conferences because usually they are just meaningless faff. Yours is the only press conference breakdowns I have ever watched. I think its a credit to Mike Mac with how much thought he puts into his answers and a huge credit to you to be able to parse what he is saying and contextualise them.
    Congrats on the fantastic debut season as a credentialed pressperson.

    At UW, Grubb ran the ball when he wanted to with a good/elite line. The Seahawks have a bottom 10, or bottom five Oline. They seldom ever got push, especially in the red zone.

    Hank Fraley would be a great fit for the Seattle Seahawks

    At the end of the day. I think the team and coaching staff did a pretty good job this year with the players they inherited. With a new staff I’m pretty impressed. It took the lions 3 years to get to where they are. So for us to get 10 wins with a new staff that’s impressive for me. 👍

    Mm said the easiest way to way a game is up the middle. So strengthening the spine is important. I believe that would be his motto on both sides of the ball. Center guard etc and a running back who can pound up the gut and use TE WR over the middle

    Great stuff as always Brian … I think we would agree it is very likely Ben Johnson will get one of the HC jobs which means the Lions will need an OC. Fraley likely to get that job I would think.

    Grub absolutely lied his way into a job. He lied to all of us at the beginning of the year in training camp, said we were gonna run the ball. That's what DK Metcalf said and his stubbornness got him fired. He had a chance to build off of the Arizona game and possibly keep his job. We didn't even run the same type of plays the next week. But I have a feeling they're gonna keep a lot of his passing concepts.
    Just have to learn.

    Agreed, DK is a great talent, but he gets taken away easily.. and it seems yearly that any OC or QB can't seem to get him to jump to that next level as a WR that true elite level... He's bottom of that elite level to the top of the second teir and definitely not worth the $30-$35mill a year people are projecting he'll want and if he won't understand his true value I say trade him off to the highest bidder...

    It’s hard to run the ball when ur oline can’t move people and is undisciplined. Always penalties every dam game. U can’t really blame grub for the offense. We just had guys who had no idea what they are doing. At least that’s wat I always see every game. Our guys for one can’t execute (oline) and the line isn’t physical because they don’t have the right guys to move people. That’s wat shows up in games.

    • @johnkumah3095
      @johnkumah3095 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      A poor Oline is not an excuse not to commit to running the ball.
      It's not as if the Seahawks couldn't run the ball at all.
      The parting of ways with Grubb is proof that he didn't view the run game as a necessity.

    • @relaxgaming8872
      @relaxgaming8872 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ it’s not an excuse. But if they have no idea wat they are doing then those run plays are useless. And if u can’t move people then there’s no hole for the rb to hit. And it be comes pointless to run the ball into a wall for a lost and be behind the sticks. I’m not giving grub an excuse but I can’t really blame him for not running the ball. Maybe he sees the issue and knows we just can’t run block so he has to throw it. That’s wat I see as I’m watching the game. I’m for running the ball all the time. I love watching running it down their throat. But I think we just don’t have the guys right now that can do it.

      I also don't understand blaming the O-Line for not running when run blocking is always considered easier than pass blocking. If you don't want to run because of a terrible oline, why try to do your long developing pass plays?

    • @relaxgaming8872
      @relaxgaming8872 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ I’m just a fan but from watching. I just see the oline is way to undisciplined that’s on all the offensive coaching staff and also on the players. If there was a plan or scheme and they guys just can’t execute it. then part of the blame is on the oline as well. If I was a coach and see that my guys can’t run block or past protect I would try to hit for the fences then try to run into a wall. That’s y geno is sacked so much as well. He was constantly under pressure as soon as the ball is snapped. And some of the sacks are on him too. But yea I don’t know I just feel that we didnt have the right plays for the type of football Mike wanted.

      @@relaxgaming8872 as for the coaching, Grubb tipped his hand way too much for his play calling. He'd pass 90% of the time in shotgun and ran 90% of the time under center. This allows defensive lineman to be patient, play laterally, and defend their gaps better when they know it's a run, and for them to play fast and get north to south when they know it's a pass play. You're offensive line can improve simply from having just more unpredictable play calling

    FA is tough for us bc players have to want to play in a place geographically far away for most.

    DK also lost us at least two games by fumbling the ball which the other team used to score a TD on the drives 🫤
