AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Pamela, you just messed up my whole house!!! :-D I went looking for favorites I knew I'd buried, and in so doing found a ton (literal) of books I forgot about because most of this year I have been healing my coloring hand. I wrecked it again last week (amazing the damage a twisting fall on ice can do), back to square 1 but I'm NOT HAVING SURGERY because it could ruin it for good. If I rest it and keep wearing the braces (yes, multiple) it may be only 10 weeks before I can begin to use it a bit carefully, tho the braces stay part of the time for another 6 months, except for the pointer finger which is toast and has to be braced for a year. Another year. Anyway, I had to dig, because new books have come in that I adore. Okay, hm. I can't get down to 10 books, but I may be able to get down to 10 authors. Just assume Johanna Basford weaves in and among all favorites, because she is the sweetest genius at helping one relax with coloring media, or even just looking at pages done and not yet done that must eventually be done.
1: Birdy: A Fanciful Bird Coloring Book: Ruby Charms, by Susan Carlson. This is very new to me, and I am crazy about it because it has birds, flowers, plants, and is just whimsically gorgeous that my sister stole my copy, I stole it back, and ordered us each another copy, since loved books like this always get 2 copies.
2: The Elf of Paladin: Grayscale: Intricate portraits of elves, women, warriors, etc, by Rachel Mintz but done through AI art designs. I'm actually worried about this because I could not find a flip through. However, it gives two copies (lighter and darker grayscale) of 35 different drawings, and the 4 I have seen I have to do, so I figured I'd get the book for those 4. I do not like this tendency toward more and more AI art. But I love THIS book's 4 seen pages and cover, and it will arrive here in a few days so I'm dying to see the rest of it. 35 x 2 --there have to be more than 4 in there that I love. Even just like! A few duds won't bother me.
EDIT: 2a: I FORGOT THIS ONE! The Moonlit Vale, A Mythical Coloring & Art Book by Annie Stegg Gerard. One of the most beautiful and relaxing books I own, glorious paper. Don't think it's on Amazon. I got mine from Gallery Gerard in Canton, GA. $20, $8 shipping, signed and stuffed with goodies.
3: Wild Soul by Grazio Salvo. If you love it, you know why. It's gorgeous!!!
After that, it goes to authors because there are too many books. Johanna Basford (ALL), Selina Fenech (anything fairies and mermaids), Tatiana Bogema (My Little Town -- all), Camilla d'Errico , Christine Karron, Coco Wyo, Hanna Karlzon (Daydreams, and Seasons), Ravian Rose, Emmanuelle Colin (all Coloriage Wild), Maggie Enterrios (Flowerscape), Maria Trolle (ALL), Aeppol (Forest Girl, and Moments Wholly For Yourself), Molly Harrison (fantasy and fairies), Kirby Rosanes.
And that is by no means all, or even close.

The vanity you are stumped on reminds me of the ivory furniture with gold accents I had as a little girl and teenager. I bet that would be a fun look!

This is what I had in mind in the beginning. I really need to figure out how to bring it to life. I wanted to make it like an "off-white" originally. Then I added too much gray and erased it. I am going to go back to it. I think I'm going to pull out my new gold gel pen that's a beautiful shade of gold. We will see where I go with it. I'll share it when I finally get some of it done. Life has been so busy because of the holidays. Happy New Year!

You and I have the same taste in books it seems! World of Flowers is my favourite book too. I even bought a second copy when I had almost finished colouring the first one. Also Maria Trolle! I love her books and her new one Moon Valley is a favourite now too. I also bought a second copy of Twilight Garden.

I'm really glad you talked a bit about what might be nicer to color with per book and talking about the paper, I'm just diving in to, well, finding a relaxing hobby to spend some time on, and it's been AGES since I've looked at coloring books or supplies, so I no longer know what might be nice for me, or specifically what's maybe more handy for beginners to start with without going bonkers spending. Very helpful!

Rooms of Wonder has been my absolute favourite colouring book ever. I prefer to copy the pages onto pencil crayon paper if I want to really do layering and spend time doing my very best work. I’ll probably buy a second book, and am going to buy one for my nieces as well because though they just turned 15 this fall and decided they were too old for colouring for this Christmas (they are very artistic, but wanted clothes lol😊), their eyes bugged out when they saw Basford’s new book!

I know that its well into 2023 now as I'm writing this and watching this video, but my favorites this year so far have been Selina Fenech's Dark Fantasy, Maria Trolle's Nightfall (which btw Polychromos work beautifully in just like the Hanna Karlzon books!!), Cris Ortega's A Colorless Kingdom Volume 3, and Hanna Karlzon's Jewelry Box.
I'm relatively new to adult coloring but not new to coloring in general as I used to be an art student and colored pencil was one of my favorite mediums. I've only been collecting coloring books for maybe 3 years (?) and the majority of them are Selina Fenech books bc I love fantasy and hers were easily accessible to me. I think I have almost all of her line art books lol. I also have a Harry Potter one my mom got me, the Junji Ito Uzumaki coloring book bc I'm a huge fan of his manga, the Bloom flower coloring book, Hanna Karlzon's Tales From the Witch's Cottage, all 3 Cris Ortega A Colorless Kingdom books and a bunch of coloring pages from etsy from various artists including Christine Karron, Hanna Karlzon, Sarah Richter, Mariola Budek and Cris Ortega. I love fantasy art the most, especially dark fantsy, but I also love coloring portraits (even tho thats very new to me) and botanicals (which has always been somrthing I love to color and something I've always been good at imo). I'm hoping to get more coloring books in the future, especially ones from Hanna Karlzon and Maria Trolle because I love the paper in them.
I recently used my Caran D'Ache Pablos in my Maria Trolle book and discovered I really don't like them on that paper lol. I've used Derwent Inktense, Prismacolor Scholar, Prismacolor Premier, and Faber-Castell Polychromos in my Maria Trolle and Hanna Karlzon books and loved the results I got with those. I'm planning on trying my Caran D'Ache Luminance, Derwent Drawing, Derwent Coloursoft, Lyra Polycolor and possibly some Holbein since I ordered a few open stock. I'll try to update this comment with what works once I recieve those, but last I saw FedEx lost my package, so we will see :/

Romantic country the third tale can be bought on Amazon Japan. I am lucky that my Japanese daughter in law brought it over to the UK for me as a Christmas gift.

I'm stuck on the French Disney Color By Number right now. There are a bunch of different ones. They have 100 images in each book and made with decent paper for different mediums.

I absolutely love your videos and am learnig so much. I am looking to subscribe to your Patreon but not clear what you get on each level. I know you have it listed but do all levels include access to more tutorials videos or do you only do the ones shown on U Tube?

On my Patreon you will be open to sending me messages to ask questions about color choices for coloring pages or anything else that would help you on your coloring journey. All of my tutorials remain on TH-cam. I use Patreon to keep closer communication to my subscribers who choose to support me in that way. I also update often on what you will see on TH-cam and Patrons can also make video requests that will go up first before other videos. You can go to my Patreon and look at the different tiers. Even at the lowest tier you will always know what’s coming to TH-cam and any of my future plans for the channel from week to week before anyone else knows. You can also subscribe to membership on TH-cam. You can check the “join” button under any video for more details on that.

World of Flowers is the only book I’ve completed (so far!). (I have a flip-through on my channel if you’d like to see it.) In 2022 I colored a lot of pages in Rita Berman’s Europa, mostly because I took it on my European vacation. I think overall my favorite books right now are Klara Markova’s, but I’m also loving Rooms of Wonder!

I'm looking forward to seeing your tutorials this year, you're a good teacher . I was just looking for coloring books and ran across one so we very unique and beautifully done! Way beyond my abilities. Enchanted Fairies by Josephine Wall. Reviews rage about the quality of the paper, work on one side of paper, and anything else positive about coloring books. Truly unique style.
