As you get older learning to be uncomfortable in society is essential if you want to grow and thrive. As I have moved into my 60’s there are so many ways society works that are different from when I was in my 40s so there is a lot of adapting and changing IF you don’t want to shut down and “retire” from being engaged in the world. I’m starting to get comfortable with being uncomfortable because I face it so much more often.
Replay! Thank you so much Damon, thank you for sharing this with us! Love love love listening to you. I am watching on replay every day and it is the highlight of my day.
Replay. I start to working every day with this 30days transformation. sometimes, it is hard, some topics are more painful then others. I start to do things I will never thought of doing before, like this comment. I guess that's already a step forward against my resistance and the way I perceive myself . Cant wait to keep it forward. Thank you
@@DamonCart really appreciate you navigating the obstructions too - these lessons are helping to change lives (mine included). The ripples will reach far... :)
Replay. Big takeaway... Well, there's a lot of stuff to unpack, but the one thing sticking clearly in my mind is that I've got to get more clear on my values. These videos are helping me put the Self Concept work into perspective, which is great. Thanks again.
Replay. Good lecture. I'm definitely going to have to watch this again. BTW, Jason is a big NLP proponent. I've got some of his stuff from a decade or so ago.
Watched replay. Excited to be learning more about logical levels. If we have control of creating meaning, it gives us real control and so much possibility for our lives to reach our hightest potential. I know that we are meaning making machines, but to learn how to do this consciously is very exciting! thank you
Replay. Big takeaway: satisfying one value alone will not likely bring the fulfilment you seek. I can relate when I started my business. Makes sense now as to why I'm not feeling the fulfilment I was seeking. Also, changing the category won't bring lasting change, instead work on the scope
Replay. @Damoncart It was Excellent!! It just gets deeper and more engaging with each video. Yet each one so important. Please talk more about the different techniques that you use to change internal representations/reframing. That would really help. If you have covered it elsewhere, please share the link. Take care.
Yes, I've done many videos on NLP techniques. Actually for years that was the focus of my videos so you will find more than you need by searching for them on my channel.
Replay. Thank you for being here. I used Content Deletion to solve a tiny annoyance (a supervisor was making an issue of it thank her) in a way that applies to gigantic life-altering problems. Kinda relates to Logical levels. The problem was I was forgetting to do one thing (check if customer had all their stuff as they leave.) At that level, I tried memorizing a list of everything that I needed to remember at each point. This kept failing. On a higher level, I had to pay attention that I thought I needed to forget most of the context of what I was doing. Including what I had just done, in order to not distract myself. How could I manage my compliance if I coulldn't--mustn't-- remember what I had done ten seconds ago? With NLP this becomes not the stopping point but the starting point. I imagine full integration should require Self concept or something, but just knowing to stop closing my eyes during my at-bat has brought me to conscious competence. So here's a nod of thanks to the supervisor who brought me fully into conscious incompetence.
Watching reply. Definitely a lot to still understand but I must say that I am impressed by how well and simply you can explain those difficult subjects without getting lost or taken away. I'm still working on my values and I feel like I'll need to come this topic again later. Thank you

Watched replay...definitely a lot to unpack but grasped the importance of Logical levels - knowing the order of what is important to me will help me in making better decisions. Realize I would have made better decisions in several areas of my life if I had had a better grasp of what was important to me. Thanks Damon. As always great content and excellent delivery. Will listen to this again.
It is chunking with paying attention to the direction in which you chunk, which is important and the overall understanding of how you use logical levels to make meaning of the world around you.
Replay: my take away (1 of them) is realizing that to accelerate our learning a language depends on our ability to tolerate the discomfort of not knowing...
Replay, bună, ce faci? I took a 3 month NLP intro course, and I am certain NLP has all the answers and techniques I need to shift my pattern of thinking. However, I feel I am so far from clarity, from identifying exactly what I want and the hierarchy of my values. I feel I need to do an NLP exercise every day in order to be able to process and shift things. However, I sometimes don't have time, and after shelving NLP for a while, I get the sensation I fall even further behind, and I start feeling disappointed of myself and consequently discouraged. I am aware this search is never-ending, and making sense of our mental patterns is an ongoing task. What would be your number 1 advice?
Make NLP a daily practice. If you don't understand something, ask questions. Perhaps move onto something else. Just keep using NLP to better your life and it will work and you will get better at NLP.
replay....im going to watch this a couple more times. i get the logical levels of car to bike to green car but don't yet understand how that has such a potential impact on my life. similarly with the sales guy ... i "kinda get it" without getting it.
I didn't fully get how important understanding Logical Levels is until about a year ago I had some coaching students who couldn't move forward in their understanding because their minds were so tightly wrapped around Dilts' NL model, which pretends to be Logical Levels. Not only is it not Logical Levels, it will impose limitations on you if you take it on as a truth. When this issue with my students came up, I remembered how much NL had limited me after practicing it for years as well, until Steve came along and blew up my world fortunately.
However you're representing yourself internally. Many people refer to this as self-image, but there's a lot more going on than just visual representations so self-image is inaccurate. There's also auditory and kinesthetic.
Take away, I understood your example of the painting as the scope, and ugly as a category. I’m having a hard time applying this particular discussion to real life.
The scope of scope and category mainly refers to your internal representations, which is your map of reality. You don't necessarily need to change the content of the representations, just the structure to change your map of reality and therefore changing yourself, transformation.
Kia Ora Damon, I am scared that you need to know everything in my soul even though I don't. Also, my brain is sore from taking in as much info as I can, that I left your session. I am a very slow learner and I realize I need to reread/relisten to your material often. What allowances do you have?
