As a player who played trove ever since bomber royale or geode wasn’t a thing I can kinda shed some insight on why I think trove went downhill. 1. Doing the same recycled grinding can get boring: Such as grinding nitro or geode 2. Character build variety is a joke: pretty much you build the same character the same way. So much so that you could just switch gems sets to other characters( minus class gems but you can set it up where they are on the same slot) and gear minus weapon 3. Recycled content 4. The game pay to skip. Pretty much the game having you grind all this stuff in a such a dreadful way or paying (not saying the grinding was fun to begin with) Finally 5. Players just don’t wanna grind more to get better: this one is more opinionated but having to pretty much go back to the game and figure out all the work I put in was for nothing can be such a gut punch. Anyone who has a different take or other reason I’d love to hear in the comments
Also about Shadow hunter I completely disagree. The class itself is better now, if not better then its amazing. Its fun, good at speedfarming and even good at delves. His abilities are 10x times better than his old ones and his damage is again better than old one. So no Shadow hunter doesn't deserve better because its already amazing.
I remember playing this game for whole days, morning to dusk. it had everything I wanted, legit felt like the best game in the world. I also remember how the moment I felt something was gonna go awry was when gems were added. Maybe there were some other things before that, but the gems disgusted me, because it was clear it was gonna be added purely for grind reasons and made it clear that they are willing to trample on items that have value just to push new grinds on the players. Seeing what happens years later...yeah. The game is genuinely inferior to what it was before.
I still remember playing this with my friends AGES ago, getting to 5k was so, so hard and so rewarding. I still remember being so damn happy that i could finally have wings, i could finally fly/glide. My last interraction with the game was unlocking the ancient dragon, i was so relieved and happy about that ngl. I miss my old friend group so much sometimes haha
The problem with trove is it's repetitive mechanics. "New content" is usually reskinned versions of stuff that already exists. And the destruction of already implemented content through the thoughtless implementation of other content. (As we saw with the destruction of Shadow Tower during the transition to Delves.) At a certain point in your playtime things begin to become stale, and the developers try to patch things up with more useless content, or more unwanted vanity items. Another thing that would've catered to other crowds would be a valid story or plot. At the beginning of the game you get introduced to two antagonists, and that's it. Literally nothing else lore related is presented to you. Something that would have fueled a larger loyal player base would have been better tutorials. (For the slow individuals..) Because Trove, in vast comparison to lots of other MMOs, is unapologetically DEEP. Back when I used to play, and I'd tutor newcomers. (As the developers did so horribly.) I'd find that they'd simply up and leave due to how deep they were in the game and simultaneously realizing that they were using the wrong damage type on the wrong class. Lol Another thing is shitting on people's souls by trashing classes they loved/invested large amounts of time into. It's not THAT big of a deal. But it's an honorable mention. Finally, it's unresponsive, lack lustre dev team. I believe a few of Trove's bugs have been fixed since I've played. Not sure tbh. But the amount of time it took for them to get to it was absolutely unacceptable. Granted they're a small team apparently. But still. If you can conjure up enough time to create a plethora of cash grabs, and use your remaining brain cells on that in zero time, you can atleast compensate the people who keep the game alive by fixing issues when necessary.
I was also welcomed after years of not playing by all of my progress being reset to 0. To be fair, I did get all of my progress, an apology and extra goodies back quickly after contacting support, but it didn't help recommend my friends to try it out again. A shame. I just hate what they did with Shadow Towers. They used to be extremely hard and rare to find, then you could just queue up from the hub, and now they're useless.

I'm a high rank on the total PR leaderboard in trove, and I remember the grind it took to get me there was utterly atrocious and ultimately not worth it. I grinded thousands of dungeons in u9 every day for about 2 months (about 8 hours of u9 a day) and I got every class to 36k, just for the devs to release crystal gems a couple months later. Started this game late during the Covid, I grinded my ass off in this game, I was casually top 100 PR, MR, got all the end game shit like blue name, purple name, orange name,... basically to the point where all I play for is grinding flux to sell for cash or to buy new bundle in shop for MR. It was a great memory during Covid when all I did was logging in, kept my mind busy. Later in my senior year of highschool, I decided to sell my account to focus on my studies and prepare for uni. As an end-game player, the game has so much to offer for beginners, the grind is crazy, but when u reached to end game, there really not much to do but tedious stuff related to RNG, and most of the top player in game I know was only playing the game cuz theyve spent to much time on this to quit, for any did quit, it was probably because of the crystal gems, shortly after when I sell my account.
People really can't just play simple games any more. What's wrong with hack and slash games? It's exactly why they had to add new PR each time. People would grind hard to reach the end game and then devs would need to add a new threshold to keep the player base entertained. In the process they made it easier to reach higher PR's, which effectively negates the new PR threshold that they added in a way that it still takes you the same amount of time to transition from early game to mid game to end game. You should be struggling to progress at 1k PR and feel each Uber world hit you hard. Not complete the tutorial and immediatelly solo U8...
i used to be number one in bomb minigame (i forgot name) but then when i played a year later, no real players played and it was literally hackers and bots and it made me so sad 😥
I have to disagree on the combat system. I love the hack and slash style BECAUSE its so easy. The gameplay is simple but infinite, and i don't have to pull of my Final Fantasy XIV Black mage combo just do do a minor amount of damage. I don't think the combat ruined it, its just a matter of preference.
Coming from someone that used to play trove BEFORE it hit consoles way back when Shadow realm 5 was end game this game has stayed the same except for the micro transactions that have exponentially increased over the years the game is jus a looter shooter jus mindless grinding for arbitrary numbers that honestly stop mattering once you start insta killing everything at that poin t you face the realization of what next tryin to find reason to continue to play and or enjoy the game knowing deep down inside that this game is never really going to any less boring or repetitive than it already is I remember when dragons first appeared in the game farming dragon chest that completely changed the economy of the game with inflation while trying to fix the problem they only made it worse and jus threw more grind mechanics at you so you’d forget about it the game is literally a revenue based game it’s not meant for anything else but jus cash grabs once that stops they won’t hesitate to cancel the game especially since it’s a different development team this game is a clock wait to it zero
I have actually only a very minor complaint about the game, besides the shadow tower having been cleaned out except for the bosses, and that’s that the shadow tower bosses are the most unique by a landslide, and anything else that comes close to that level of uniqueness is limited to very specific biomes (candy dragon/robot piñata). Personally I think the three star dungeons could afford to have final bosses that are unique but still fit the biome theme as opposed to buffed versions of buffed versions of regular enemies. Also bring back CTF and TDM pvp plz
Brother try path of exile then- it's like 600x more complicated, but if you like full-screen enemy explosions, I'd suggest trying it out. Search "poe blade vortex explode" to see what it's like

@@Halimat2.0 I think the gem upgrading system would be fine if it didn’t have that stupid blue bar. The blue bar moves so slow and constantly wastes your gem dust and flux, and it gets worst the more you level up the gem. Like I’m so sick and tired of going to a Uber world, grinding gem boxes, opening said boxes for the gem dust, and then use the dust to upgrade my gem only to see I have 0 gem dust left because of that stupid bar having a whole ass feast on my flux & gem dust. All that grinding for absolutely nothing is just insane, like this game does not reward you man.
Speaking as a top 10 pr xbox player. Yes 15k is easy to get because 15k is beginner level power rank. You can hit it by just following the beginner quest. The game added more stuff to increase pr which in turn made lower level pr easier to get. Now closer to 35k is the new 15k. Also in terms of p2w. Trove is more pay to skip. There really is no "winning". And it shouldn't really matter to you what people want to spend their money on so who cares if people pay or not. But if you think you need to pay then the countless f2p endgame players would disagree with you. The real difference is your taste in games just doesn't align with Trove's gameplay anymore.
I've been playing trove since day one on console at least, trove has gone so far down hill over the years, after the company that developed the game went bankrupt and sold off the game to gamigo it there hasn't been much of significance added to the game, and every update the game just gets worse at least in my eyes, more time gated items that are necessary to progress super pay to win items, no real fun end game content either, and events are always either recycled or they dont add really much to the game at all, i will say i love the colors and the blocky theme of the game and the combat mechanics thats really all the game has going for it, and delves is now just a snooze fest and the devs form what ive seen in game do not rally care to add much of anything good to the game besides 20 dollar store packs, i get the skill trees are a pretty cool thing to grind but again im looking at this in a vets eyes this game has gone down hill and the game has little to no good replay value will i still play the game from time to time, yes i will but it isnt a game i would spend much time on anymore
the game is easy and that's fine, the grind is there just like in any other MMO, and the combat, well.. it's there but the game never really focused on combat that is exciting as Dark Souls, it's as easy as just clicking one button and yeah the enemy is dead, but the real issue in this game right now is the economy that is ruined by insane inflation, everything is like x20 times more expensive and the old methods of farming Flux are just not enough to get everything, the game was never P2W because it was really easy but it's getting ruined by both Gamigo that are now selling so many Packs for like 3K Credits each and bots that farm for Flux devaluing its price, this makes the game P2W now because Credits are so expensive right now because of the inflation, 250 Credit Pouch is worth like 3 to 4 mil now, and to get a pack that is worth 3K you need 12 Credit Pouches, that's 36 or even 48 mil of Flux! to put that in perspective with max Magic Find at the end game we farm 1 mil Flux per hour so it's literally imposible to farm enough Flux for like 5 packs that are always showing up for 2 weeks during all events in time, there's just not enough time, back then the grind was actually enjoyable in this game and by just doing Dungeons we could maintain Patron and things like that without problems, now it's just not fun the game is a chore because of all the packs that are showing up during any event I still somehow enjoy this game even with all the flaws that it has, grinding dungeons was my daily routine in this game to get lots of things in this game and I really enjoyed collecting all the mounts, weapon styles, costumes and stuff like that to increase my Mastery level, right now I'm at like 816 total mastery so I have literally nothing else to do, all I can do is get the packs that are just out of reach without spending money
I mostly disagree with what you've said in the video. You said hack and slash games are boring. That's your personal opinion, i thought you will talk about the game issues mainly and not about what you think it's bad . I myself love hack and slash games and they're my favourite kind. Also they really implemented new stuff and you have a problem that combat power max cap is bigger now? That's your issue? That they kept adding stuff into the game? They even made changes in zones, dungeons and combat systems but you just prefferred to insult the game instead of giving factual explanations.
I would say play it if you like to play it casually and not really sweat its really simple and just fun even though it isn't the most complex thing if your looking for something casual to play does it need to be complex no it doesn't so I would say yes you should start playing again.
Excuse me Star Chart has been out for like 1 months. also I know how you feel I feel the same I grind max geode mastery 45K Pr . and 500 Mastery and the game is grinding as I only start to played for 1 year that all played when it had like 15K pr being high max now it like Trash Game pay to win not fun to hard mastery painful. everyone should Agree it hard and pay to win.
feed back : you voice volume is really low and the beep sound you put there is so high and irritating.. i stopped watching in the middle because it cause me headache. ffs listen to your own audio before upload.
Trove is not pay to win, its pay to win faster, maybe, you can make certain gem crafting faster, but its perfectly do able f2p, a game is not pay to win because you can buy stuff to do things faster. If you play gta v, you can buy shark cards to buy a 2m dollar car, but if you go do a heist and complete the finale you can make 1m maybe more, and one heist is maybe 2-4 hours depends on the heist. But because of this we still dont consider gta v pay to win.
These are not valid points....you said "Trove is too easy so you get get 15k in 2 weeks" but then you complain about gems being too hard??? Also Trove isn't just pay to win you can get 98% of everything in trove just free to play....

My wife started a shadow hunter character on my class and she got me to level 25 and around 12k pr in like 4 days
back in 2018 i played this game literally everyday and had a godly cyber ninja set
ever since mac disabled boot camp i havent touched the game at all
I play trove to gain dopamine from watching the enemies explode 🔥🔥
Brother try path of exile then- it's like 600x more complicated, but if you like full-screen enemy explosions, I'd suggest trying it out.
Search "poe blade vortex explode" to see what it's like
@@gilletteguy literally not even the same genre
@@sweetbabyrayso5262 Fuck if it's not the same genre, the full screen explosions in path of exile are bliss.
@@gilletteguy that is something i can agree with you on. funny enemy dies in funny explosion is amazing
When I started playing classes were linked to your progress in the game, based on your unlocked worlds
I only played trove for it's PvP BattleGrounds mode and once that was changed to just throwing bombs we all stopped playing and never went back.
Im still having fun
I can’t even log on now it’s so slow it just says start login
i feel like the bots should also be said. cuz there are bots like "kekw" and "freeeflux" now
His biggest co.plaints were that they didnt change the core mechanics of the game...mechanics wich are the main attraction of it haha..the simple hack and alash is what he enjoyed or he wouldnt of apent years plait g. Just sounds like a kid raging because someone that bought cubit packs got their ganda first
I’m 700+ mastery….. I quit cause the game is shit. Literally
@@jaywinston990 at the end of the day, just do what you enjoy
Yeah I'm sitting at 901 mastery and top 10 total pr on xbox. Game fits my taste pretty well
Ya not going to lie I lost my old account and just reset again after like 3 years of not playing even tho there's a bunch of new stuff I'm already at 14k pr with 2 class gems on different characters it's too easy and I remember when I was so happy just hitting 5k to get my class gem back in the day
It's really liked trove and would've played it still... If only devs didn't close the access to my country.
Trove is not Pay to Win, you dont need pay to win to progress, 15k is like start the game and see what you can do, if you do what you need to you can progress very fast.
Trove isnt pay to win but it damn there is
its defininetly not f2p either
@@SoarWithMeI’ve gotten pretty far with only paying a small amount of money, which is just to make traveling slightly easier, which is doable without, it isn’t pay to win at all.
I’m endgame f2p with 37k ice sage the game is pay to skip
@@certifiedboss6596 37k power rank is not endgame what are you on
also some delve bosses have 20 billion hp plus armor
i already power 6k two days in
I mean i am f2p player and got to end game with no pay at all, was hard but when jt eas back then it was easier to get stuff.
Now it ls still ez as long as you have 1 strong character cos u can use it to get stuff for other characters and so on.
But now to get other characters its hard af.
Took me month to grind for vangardian, but hey i did it
It’s exactly like hypixel skyblock which has a bigger community the point of the game is the repetition of trying to be the top on the leader board or best builder orrr to be the richest seller not to be a complicated game it’s supposed to be simple so u can just grind it
The gem system has to be the most tedious mechanic in the entire game💀
if it would just be getting good ones and leveling them it would be fine but the augmenting is way to frustrating .... so many hours for a few %

I remember grinding for months for the bomb royal dragon egg to sell and buy another dragen egg. lol such a long and fun process sad i quit this game
I forgot about trove
I've been playing trove since day one on console at least, trove has gone so far down hill over the years, after the company that developed the game went bankrupt and sold off the game to gamigo it there hasn't been much of significance added to the game, and every update the game just gets worse at least in my eyes, more time gated items that are necessary to progress super pay to win items, no real fun end game content either, and events are always either recycled or they dont add really much to the game at all, i will say i love the colors and the blocky theme of the game and the combat mechanics thats really all the game has going for it, and delves is now just a snooze fest and the devs form what ive seen in game do not rally care to add much of anything good to the game besides 20 dollar store packs, i get the skill trees are a pretty cool thing to grind but again im looking at this in a vets eyes this game has gone down hill and the game has little to no good replay value
will i still play the game from time to time, yes i will but it isnt a game i would spend much time on anymore
Game went down hill right after dragons came out
I just started and im already at a high power rank
Having no clue about a game and doing such a vid is not the best decision, btw 30k pr is not even midgame
They stopped supporting mac I was literally kicked off of the game.
I lost interest in trove when i found out veloren exists

the game is easy and that's fine, the grind is there just like in any other MMO, and the combat, well.. it's there but the game never really focused on combat that is exciting as Dark Souls, it's as easy as just clicking one button and yeah the enemy is dead, but the real issue in this game right now is the economy that is ruined by insane inflation, everything is like x20 times more expensive and the old methods of farming Flux are just not enough to get everything, the game was never P2W because it was really easy but it's getting ruined by both Gamigo that are now selling so many Packs for like 3K Credits each and bots that farm for Flux devaluing its price, this makes the game P2W now because Credits are so expensive right now because of the inflation, 250 Credit Pouch is worth like 3 to 4 mil now, and to get a pack that is worth 3K you need 12 Credit Pouches, that's 36 or even 48 mil of Flux! to put that in perspective with max Magic Find at the end game we farm 1 mil Flux per hour so it's literally imposible to farm enough Flux for like 5 packs that are always showing up for 2 weeks during all events in time, there's just not enough time, back then the grind was actually enjoyable in this game and by just doing Dungeons we could maintain Patron and things like that without problems, now it's just not fun the game is a chore because of all the packs that are showing up during any event
I still somehow enjoy this game even with all the flaws that it has, grinding dungeons was my daily routine in this game to get lots of things in this game and I really enjoyed collecting all the mounts, weapon styles, costumes and stuff like that to increase my Mastery level, right now I'm at like 816 total mastery so I have literally nothing else to do, all I can do is get the packs that are just out of reach without spending money
do you know what is delve?
Amazing video dude,I was laughing so much
you can legit craft the classes kek, aint no way this game is p2w
I used to love trove
Sadly this game might shut down this year but hopefully not

lol thats even if you can play the game i can't even play for 30 miuntes without getting kicked from the server
30 seconds per dungeon is bad icl
Almost 30k no money spent bro. Just grind boxes
You literally summed up what I did for years every game and my routine lollll idk if I should play trove now again or not what do you think eh ..?
Also my pr was 31k ish idk how easy it be to play again now
I would say play it if you like to play it casually and not really sweat its really simple and just fun even though it isn't the most complex thing if your looking for something casual to play does it need to be complex no it doesn't so I would say yes you should start playing again.
bros mastery 100 and complaining, you havent even scratched the surface please dont complain. You truly dont know what you're talking about
Excuse me Star Chart has been out for like 1 months. also I know how you feel I feel the same I grind max geode mastery 45K Pr . and 500 Mastery and the game is grinding as I only start to played for 1 year that all played when it had like 15K pr being high max now it like Trash Game pay to win not fun to hard mastery painful. everyone should Agree it hard and pay to win.

Took me a couple weeks just to get to ten thousand. Game is still good. Just. Find something that fits for you
feed back : you voice volume is really low and the beep sound you put there is so high and irritating.. i stopped watching in the middle because it cause me headache. ffs listen to your own audio before upload.
Yeah no
