Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

You know, you guys make me shake my head! As a retiree, a coastal BC outdoorsman, a fly-fisherman, an ex-scuba diver...etc., etc., and I just laugh at you interior guys who come on down to the coast, no raincoats, truckin' through 'rain forest' regions that the weather can turn on a dime into a storm at the drop of a hat, and here you are, getting slammed by ocean waves and drenched like a rag in the rain, too funny! 🤣

Thank god the fire ban got lifted, crazy how much survival knowledge is based around it and it's just that much harder to survive without it, even with modern day camping equipment

Despite the setback with the kayak plan and the stolen fish, I think this video was a turning point. Fish trap, fire, and progress on a bow. Recharged batts etc. I'm looking forward to seeing if you guys venture to a new spot as well. P.s I'm in Rutland VT, Zach's hometown. Would love to meet you guys if you do another adventure here on the East Coast!

Mother Earth is very good to you. Always finds her way to you from what I see. Stay humble
for this type of fishing, your best gear option would be one of tthose long spinning rods people use on the east coast for catching stripers from the beach. You could cast your lures way further out, and cover much more water. I think thats the reason Amos is catching fish. His Lures reach out to the striking zones, which are a bit further out.
Seeing your spirits get lifted when you could make a fire was great to see! I know it's been a tough journey this go around but don't put yourself down. You contribute in other ways no matter if your fishing luck was down you could contribute in other ways that are valuable too. I hope you find the joy in what you do again on this trip and stop putting yourself down. You are amazing in what you do and no matter what the true fans are here every step of the way
Even bad or off days matter and it was good to see your spirit lifted when you were back in your element with the fire. Good season Greg thanks for all the hard work you put in to entertain and educate us. Plus you have a great partner in this journey, he has such high sprits throughout this and you guys did an amazing job with what you were delt. Either way I'm still watching every episode.

Greg put a small cylindrical stick in your coffee pan that sticks out 3-4 inches and control the pour of your coffee.

I always keep one in my pocket in a sleeve so it doesn’t lose fluid, and 3 in the pack as redundancy. Also a Pocket Ferro rod and another in the pack! Love this content and I love to be prepared for a proper hike/survival adventure this is epic Greg and Amos!

You know, at first this one seemed a little lack-luster, but this story continues to unfold in intriguing and entertaining ways. And, though Greg has certainly faced an unusual amount of slips and pitfalls here and there, his ability to look not towards his blunders or unfortunate events, but rather towards the more positive and driving aspects of this Survival Challenge, has continued to impress me and fills me with an almost empathic determination to see his good efforts returned in good fortune on this Island! Thank you Greg, for such display of inspiring optimism and drive; I don't think I would be able to brush off some of the things you went through like you did if I were in your shoes.
