Glad to see more content with the OCGF smoker. I am cooking my second cook on my new one after watching every video I could find on it, Multiple times. I cooked for over 15 years on a Lang 60 trailer and it got to be too much work so I was looking for a solution that could put out heavy smoke but not require kicking the coals every 30 to 45 minutes. So far we are real happy with the OCGF. Thanks for helping with the decision. Brisket is back on the menu!
Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you're having a positive experience as well. This has turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for, and while I've seen it with my own two eyes I can't believe how well it's working out. I find that I do like to use a lot of wood chunks as I commented during this video, as it allows me to customize the flavor of the smoke, and you get the fun of the smoke ring as well lol. Brisket being the mother lode of BBQ, it's so manageable in the OCGF smoker. Thanks for the comments and feedback - I love hearing what you're doing!
Hey sorry! I didn't see your comment, but thank you very much for the kind words - more coming soon! I'm in love with this dang thing now, and use it as my main smoker. Get one!! You will not regret it even for a second.
Man for real! Since I'm not currently using any auto-fan devices, in order to get back up to temp more quickly I use a cheap box fan with the fire box open, set it to high, go about 10 degrees over my desired temp, and then shut the door and manage the ball valve to maintain the temp I want. You can see the crappy fan I'm using at 6:02 😂 works like a charm!
