  • A wickedly powerful Italian version of the Yamaha VMAX, this is an absolute beast in a straight line. With a fairly basic package with minimal gauges, this pulls no punches delivering an intense seat of the pants ride when you twist your wrist. After 4500 RPMs the engine switches from being a old school Harley to a high revving smooth shifter, pulling your arms out of the sockets and wanting to raise the nose skyward through 2nd. Not for those looking for anything nimble or understated, this would be perfect for anyone with the room to use it's 0-60 prowess.

    Turns like a pig??? Have you ever lean on a bike before? I have tested several Diavels and I ended up scratching the exhaust because the bike leaned like a super sport bike. This bike is easy to ride, easy to turn, easy to maneuver on low speed. Where I agree with you is the gear indicator on the tank. On a bright sunny day you can't see jack.

    Your riding around in 6th gear at a 1/4 of the RPM and you wondering why it vibrates in that gear. Every bike on the planet will do exactly the same thing, chug around in top gear when your that low in the RPM. The bike turns nothing like a V-Max.

    I own Diavel Strada and I agree 100% - it's not really every day bike. It's a little jumpy around 4K RPM but this is all Ducati. I install tuning kit with cruise control kit from tuneboy and all this went away. Now it's totally different bike: very smooth and responsive. Ergonomic on Diavel Strada is different and that is why I get it instead of base Diavel. It's beast and fun to ride. Love it :-)

    Sports bikes do over 100mph in first gear? I mean, tuned GP bikes maybe?
    The Diavel turns like a pig?! Bro it’s such a nimble bike, you could track this bike no problems at all!

    Looks like early on after leaving the parking lot (1:25) you're in 6th gear and barely going 3,000 to 3,500 rpm, Ducati's need to be at least above 4,000 rpms. This is the same as a stick shift in a car! With a Ducati, if you think you're in the right gear, you probably need to be one gear down from that. Its got a 240 rear section rear tire, lean with the bike don't fight it.

    Looking at the bars and tank from your view. It has an unusual appearance I don't think I have ever seen on a motorcycle.

    I sat on the Diavel and was not comfortable with the ergos. I would not buy a Duc as a primary bike. Secondary, maybe. The Multistrada was the best adventure type bike that I liked when I test rode it. I am spoiled by my FJR's shaft drive that I would not to go back to the chain drive format.

    Something very wrong with that particular bike. The turning being a problem is not typical and the vibration I see in the mirrors is also abnormal. Is it a used bike?

      Nope dealer demo bike and they said that was normal you just have to keep it revved up

      +DucatiHD Ca Other reviews I have seen do not exhibit the same vibration of this particular sample. Seems like there is something wrong with the bike. Keeping in mind that this bike is not marketed as a sports bike it should still not be classified as handling like a "pig." Its a hybrid of a cruiser and sports bike. So of course its not going to lay down in corners like motogp bike.

      The tires need replacement. I just put new tires on and it transformed it back to a very nimble machine. My mirrors have no vibration.

      +DucatiHD Ca Owned a 2013 (Carbon black) and just got a 2015 (Carbon Red).The seat on the 2013 its not that comfortable, hes correct on that. But apart from this , smooooooth all around. Such a fantastic machine!

    you can't go 50 in 6th gear for that type of bike, of course it"s gonna rattle. maybe 3rd gear

      ill save you the time. if you love torque its amazing but its so heavy its a nightmare to ride at low speed or in traffic.
