Today Fr. Mike preaches about Faith and Faithfulness, while providing a concise lesson of Salvation History.
I have been a fundamental Baptist all my life and have several degrees from a Baptist seminary. During the past dozen years I have atttended Catholic mass many times. I especially am blessed by the Lenten season and Holy Week, most particularly the Stations of the Cross. I believe the Lord and the Holy Spirit brought me to Father Mike's sermons. Never have I heard such accurate teaching of the Scriptures and honest invitiations to follow Christ. I am praying about transitioning my faith to Catholicism, the one, holy, and original church of Christianity.

When I was a young man my father was an atheist and my mother was a protestant. My grandmother on my mothers side would not vote for Kennedy because he was a Catholic! So there for a time was a lot of division within the family. However I do think my grandmother preferred my father as an atheist than if he was a Catholic. Both sides of my family came from Ireland way back and on my fathers side had strong rebel sentiments while my mothers side they were Ulster Protestants. Even over here a 100+ years later in my fathers family some were still talking treason against the British in the late 1960's. Anyhow my ancestors strongly believed in their thing and my generation here is the first of my family to be free of all that! I have had difficulties in my faith over the years. In the beginning no faith at all and later seeing what my mothers church was up to not so much there either. I was married in the Catholic church 34 years ago. Even though it is not until I started listening to Father Michael that things started to make sense. I still have a long way to go and my friends are trying to help. I thank you Father Michael for your work!

I pray my rosary this morning asking Blessed Mary to teach me to love God more and to always say yes to God. I then heard this sermon, I understand faith now and this may have saved my life( destination to heaven). Thank you 🙏🏻

Just when I heard what I think is the most powerful homily, you share another more profound with riches and beauty about our Christian faith. I listened to Fulton Sheen recently and found his teachings to be full of psychology with some small Bible lesson. God has given Fr Mike a gift of teaching the truth found in the gospel. Yes Lord we want to be found as having faith, when You arrive on the earth again! You are trustworthy!
When you said ALL Christian were you incorrectly including protestant’s? Remember there’s ONLY ONE CHURCH therefore protestant’s are NOT Christian! To be a Christian one MUST belong to the ONLY CHURCH THERE IS the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ God himself two thousand year’s ago! The Orthodox became CULTS when they broke with Rome in 1054AD,plus they reject the Filioque! And NOT the Baptist CULT founded by Joseph Smythe 400 year’s ago! Watch Don’t call protestant’s Christian. Then The Papacy can NOT be destroyed. Then Following Padre Pio. Then the warning or illumination of conscience by Christine Watkins! God bless. Praise Jesus and Mary always!!! I too often wonder Fr. Mike, how many Catholics really have faith in God today. At the end of the pandemic many people have stopped coming to church. It makes me so sad to notice this. All that I can do is to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to touch them, transform them & lead them back to church & the Holy Eucharist..🙏
I pray for the same every day too.
It was actually the start of the pandemic when people stopped going, mainly because they had no choice. I also think a lot of people have fell into the comfort of watching the live mass on Webcam in their homes and have forgotten the importance of receiving the Holy Eucharist.
Many people are angry that the Church followed the culture and did not provide for the spiritual needs (souls) of the flock. In church history the priests ran towards the crisis and not towards the culture. Also, according to Canon Law the Bishops could dispense from Mass but NOT stop Mass. Most Catholics drink.the Koolaide and ask NO Questions.Jesus Christ was counter cultural and led.the way. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Thank the Merciful Jesus for priests like Father that feed the souls and speak the Truth of Jesus Christ not society. God's Divine Mercy is with him and the Blessed Virgin has him.under her mantel.

Fr. Mike, I wish I could show this video to those who knock at my door holding a bible and come to tell me that “ accepting Jesus Christ and FAITH in Him alone can save you” . Fr Mike one of your BEST homilies ever. Our Church, established by Christ, lead by Apostolic succession, has the Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist. I didn't grasp this until my 30s either, and I had come from a Catholic school. Thank you for leading us through this historical journey through the Bible, to understand the connection between the old testament and new testament, with Jesus as our new manna, the new lamb, the new Passover, the new covenant. He has fulfilled it all. May we strive and endure until the end, may God find his servants with faith, Amen.
Father a very strong homily with alot packed in it for us toake a conclusion in our faith & ehat do we actually believe!?!?!? Faith is not something that I can get on my own. My faith has come by hearing the word of God- my faith comes by way of others by way of the greatest commandment love one another - my faith comes from the body of Christ that I am a member of - I find my faith through worship - thank you to all those at Our Lady for providing this to those of us who can not attend mass - God Bless you all

Another awesome Homily Fr Mike! It gave us all hope that a holy man, a priest struggled with this question about if Jesus’ Body and Blood was really present in the Eucharist as you entered the seminary. You always give us great hope - even all the way up in upstate NY!

"A Faith that says Jesus did it all, I don't have to do anything, Is NOT Faith!" "If you don't live the Faith, You don't have Faith at all". WOW, Let these words set in through quiet thought to convict us of participating in the body of Christ. We Catholic Christians too often don't know that we are "Saved through Grace alone" (at our Sacramental Baptism) which can't be earned through any works (which is why infant Baptism makes as much sense as waiting till you're "ready" for it). After this transformational moment where we become a new creature in the family of God, we then must participate through Faith in working out our Salvation. Faith is works. Saved by Grace and Faith/Works

Please keep teaching this way - with background basics then building on the new lesson. I'm an old(er) man, and the first few times I heard your podcasts, I thought it was "ordinary" - not in a bad meaning, but because I do know some stuff.
However, lately, I notice that one of my children has also taken to your podcasted homilies. I do try to teach them what I know. But this particular child has learning disabilities, and keeps asking me the same questions, and sometimes I get tired and exasperated. Thus, to have podcasts, that can be replayed repeatedly, is such a wonderful tool. And covering the basics too, that helps (some other priests are good too, but use jargon. Nothing wrong with that, but they are meant for a different target audience).
So thank you once again. And you are in our prayers - there are so few good priests, so many horribly bad bishops maybe all the way to the top, and so many "cancelled" priests. So yes, I also wonder if this approaching the end, when "the great apostasy" and worse, "the great abomination" may have occurred - on the physical level a clear idol, and on the spiritual level the attack on the Liturgy plus Doctrine. These are far worse abominations that a stupid wooden doll.
That was the best homily I have heard in a long time, calling out this heresy about the German bishops hypocrisy 😳 Jesus said the gates of Hell are wide open but the gates of Heaven are narrow these bishops better watch out.we need a conversion in the whole entire church. It is gong to take 3 days of darkness or examination of conscience to fix this mess
I agree. But it seems we had months of “darkness” during pandemic lockdown and it doesn’t appear that it caused an increase in faith amongst people. I don’t know what will draw people back to the truth, but let’s keep praying and living our faith 🙏🏻

Thank you Father. Approximately a few months ago, (edited becausecit seems like very recent but actually wasn't); I felt God leading me to Isaiah, I began reading and he urged me to keep reading. I had never read it entirely; I knew of some of the most powerful verses but I was shocked to read and wondered, WHY do we not hear about Israel turning DOWN GODS OFFER OF THE ETERNAL COVENANT? This is WHY we have it! They chose idols over Gods offer of an Eternal Covenant. I believe I know why this isn't spoken of, because it PROVES We are Gods 'chosen people'.. NOT Israel since Christ instituted The Eternal Covenant. Once this is understood it drives the responsibility and conviction to the very depths of ones soul to the point of no return. I am hopelessly lost...in the depth of Gods Love that is obvious now. All the other ideas are nonsense from the spirits of confusion. We should know where that originates from. This was the finest teaching of all. Now my Faith in the One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church, was in a straight line and got off the merry go round of sin, death, and lukewarmness. I was the last to know. It is also no coincedence to me that this came ONLY after I committed ALL to God and was freed from mortal sin after I willed it as necessary for salvation. (Those who are of the Truth hear His voice). He let that dwell for awhile and then this came to bring it ALL together! I can do nothing without HIM, at the same time He cannot do it until I am willing to live for Him and NOT the pleasures of this world on any level. I am never bored. His yolk is easy and burden light. True to His Word to the nth degree! Praised be God, forever!
