I understand and respect your opinion, especially as I am only white myself, but I do think if even some people are hurt by it, it does more harm than good. And preferring a logo over hurting someone isn’t more important

As a Commanders fan, my take on the name is that most of us, including me don't like it. Some people cate more than others tho. the debate over the old name is also pretty divisive. The one thing we all agree on is keeping the colors. I personally was against it, but I also recognize it was inevitable, which I think is the majority opinion. There were other names thrown around. Redwolves was the most popular. Warriors, Red Hogs, Red Tails, and Armada were others. When we took the Commanders name it really felt like a placeholder considering Dan Snyder was on his way out, so the team didn't put much effort into the rebrand. The new ownership knows the name isn't popular and will likely change it.

The team only changed the name after their corporate partners refused to work with them until after they change it, and Snyder could not afford that financial hit.
