Alkaline is such a killer song but it doesn’t even begin to show the vocal range Vessel is capable of. In the entirety of Sleep Token’s catalog, this is probably his most restrained vocal approach and I think it’s by design because my theory is this song is intended to show off the abilities of their god-tier drummer. Oh, and the guy in the mask in the video is Vessel, the lead singer, btw. If you want to jump into more, Chokehold and Granite are really good followups to this one, but you’ll definitely want to check out The Summoning, too. Worship.
I didn’t realize how at the end of alkaline how the song just sounds like a metronome or a clock ticking the entire time. Really cool music they create!

It's actually a super cool concept that's definitely help by how wickedly talented this group is.
You got to see Vessel the vocalist (songwriter and exceptional pianist, as well as doing the guitar and bass work for the recorded music), as he actually looks within the band. Identities are hidden. It really adds to the whole mystique of the band. I don’t know if anyone has recommended Higher yet, but that’s also a good one showing some of the range. Nice reaction 😊
One of the reasons Sleep Token hits people so deep is how *personal* and raw Vessel's voice and lyrics are. He needs the mask and pseudo-anonymity to be this vulnerable publicly.
Sleep token is such a versatile band, their song the summoning demonstrates that really well. Their singer vessel can do stripped back just him and a piano singing with pure emotion, I always recommend people check out blood sport (from the room below) to see that. There’s just too many good tracks to recommend from them. Worship.
Alkaline now that's a pretty cool name for a band & its my first time listening to this band I'm really impressed i loved the track also very catchy indeed.

Yo!! 👋🏼 🤩 I do actually have a suggestion, it’s my best friend’s band, he’s the guitar player and they’re an Irish prog metal group called The Enigma Division. They’re doing some really interesting synth work mixed with pretty savage riffs and soaring vocals (actually very minimal, sparing screams, which is refreshing! 👌🏼), more groove than a scientist’s brain hahaha, some amazing guest features on their debut album 🥵 The song’s called ‘Echoes in the Deep’. If you like stuff like sleep token with these atmospheres and chuggy/choppy riffs, layered vocals etc, perhaps a bit of a longer song form… It would be super cool to see your reaction 🤩👌🏼✨ P.s. if you made it this far, you’re awesome 🎉🫂
What exactly is a "sueong"? Sounds vaguely Korean when I type it out, but I can't place your accent at all. Never heard anyone say that word that way. :) Also, everyone I have ever seen react to this video gets way too caught up in the video aspects, and doesn't actually listen to the song itself with any focus. I suspect this is why Sleep Token went to visualizer style videos for their latest album.
