As a Bama fan that grew up in the 90's and 2000's this will always be the greatest game in the greatest season ever. The first NC I remember everything about
the re-start of Alabama glory and the start of the "We want Bama" chants - worked out gust great for Texas, Lsu and Notre Dame. Hell, even Bama doesn't want Bama !!!!!!
I agree. Same reason why UF lost to Louisville this past season. When you get that close when no one thought you would, you don't wanna get up for anything else. After Bama lost to Utah Saban made sure the team knew the importance of games, and after the 2010 season he made sure the team knew they had to try to win, they couldn't just show up and do it.
to me Alabama of 2009 and 2011 are my favorite teams. Alabama strength of schedule in 2009 was their second highest this past decade and they beat back to back undefeated teams. and the 2011 defense of Alabama was truly remarkable in my eyes probably the best I ever saw in my young life, shutting out LSU in the BCS that went through a murderous schedule that year is a impressive feat.
Idk, even though we didn't win the championship I absolutely loved the 2008 team. We were expected to go 8-4 and beat everyone including the blackout at Uga and the 36-0 beat down of auburn, so many great memories that year, you know except for the bowl game lol
Tim Tebow was such a crybaby. During his four years at Florida, he won two national championships, two SEC titles, a Heisman his sophomore year (and Heisman candidate in both his junior and senior years) and while having every Gator fan as well as the national media throwing rose petals at his feet throughout his time in Gainesville, and he can't stomach enduring a rare loss. The better team won that day.
as a FSU fan, this game was my favorite game to watch ever. and florida had their time in 2008 with a SEC title and National championship. and now alabama in 2009 got their chance to do the same and they did. won the sec title and the national championship
I remember watching this game at the time, the end of one potential dynasty and the birth of the new bama dynasty. And the amount of nfl talent here is just ridiculous
Everyone has a bad loss....even the big and bad. However, Louisville was pretty underrated and has a 2013 Heisman contender at QB with a head coach who was the offensive coordinator at UF, Charlie Strong. Still no excuses though.
XxStuntxX Riley Cooper, Brandon Spikes, Joe Haden, Reggie Nelson, Janoris Jenkins, Pouncey Twins, Ahmad Black, Major Wright, David Nelson. All active players in the NFL who actually play or start.
The start of The dynasty. I still have to give all the respect that is due to Tim Tebow I take great pleasure and calling him my brother he is a great example of a devout Christian like myself he truly is an inspiration and humble man how he gave so much respect and credit to the University of Alabama really shows what it looks like to be a man of faith. ✝️👍
The year before when Bama lost to Florida in the SECCG in the last, what....10 Mins of the game after being up ? Not seeing my Crimson Tide winning a NC since I was 3/4 (and yes I still remember watching the game with my dad in brother while we lived in Alaska cause my dad was stationed there) this was such a great win. Even after winning the NC this year and the consecutive #1 ranked recruiting classes that we were bringing in i still could not ever imagine that we’d create the greatest dynasty in college football history especially considering we had the second greatest dynasty ever when Bear was the coach as he won 6 NC’s at Bama as well. So yes, one of the greatest wins still in our past decade of dominance. I would put this game higher than the ND NC game if it weren’t for the fact we beat a blue blood that gave us fits during the 60s/70s. Bama has beaten blue bloods Texas, ND, and Ohio St now and some folks consider Clemson to be a blue blood as well cause their 1981 NC and the success they’ve had lately. Also beating LSU and UGA for NC’s as LSU is not a main rival (Bama has won 9 out the last 10 against them) and UGA, which I’m sure they hate us but they aren’t our rivals and believe me when I say we hate auburn, Tenn, LSU, Texas AM and even Florida (because of the 90’s SECCG’s) more than UGA. They sure do hate us tho. lol. I’d like to beat Clemson once more so we’d have a winning % over them in the playoffs as it’s tied now but I’d love if USC could get into a NC game against us so we could beat another blue blood. Or a Michigan/Penn St/ Florida St/ Nebraska. I would’ve said Miami as well but we beat them for a NC in ‘92. Roll Tide!
A&M is a great team, they have the potential to beat anyone. Even though I hate to make excuses, I feel UF lost to Louisville because Louisville simply wanted it more then UF, its just a damn shame. But I give Louisville credit for not letting up. They're gonna be a great contender in the ACC, which was a smart part by moving.
those games were alot closer then what the score on the score board said, in 2009 we made it in the red zone 2 times but didn't do anything with it, if we would have scored a couple of TD's on those two drives it would have been 32-27 and in 2010 we made it inside the 5 like 3 or 4 times but couldn't do anything, and in 2011 we was driving the ball on yall until brantley went down.
People probably don't know this, but this was the first time in the 17 year history of conference championship games (and yes, I am including Mid-Majors in this) that both division champions came into this game with undefeated conference records, let alone undefeated overall records. .......And THAT'S your CFB Fact Of The Day.
I don't remember a Tebow post game interview. He gave credit where credit was due (to Alabama), kinda classy and I respect that. You got beat, take it like a man, no excuses the game speaks for itself.
the reason we always see the sec in the bcs title game over the last several years is because they do not choke when the chance presents itself the list of choke artists is long on the big stage when it comes time to play the sec in the bcs title game
yes im just happy notre dame is back how its post to be in football the winning ways i think this year's championship game might go into ot or even 2 ot's
@jenn smith I hate that people overlook those facts.they have the longest out of conference win streak, first multiple BCS champions.so I'm sorry they are far from "most over ranked"team in the SEC.that one game(a very poorly played championship game)stopped LSU from being one of the greatest teams in CFB.they beat 3 Oregon,#3 Arkansas
This was not only the first time in the history of college football that two teams unbeaten in conference play met in a conference championship game, but it was also the first time in the history of college football that two overall undefeated teams met in a conference championship game, PERIOD. And it's only fitting that it would be the SEC, the conference that 'invented' the conference championship game, that would have that honor.
as a huge Bama fan, it was hard to enjoy the win. It made me sick that people were laughing when such a good human being who worked his ass off was crying. He worked so hard but could only do so much for his team. Dude will always be a beast though so hes not hurting right now
Nick Saban will cement his place as one of the 2 greatest college coaches of all time when Alabama defeats Notre Dame for the National Championship in Miami. Put it in three inch headlines. Cars.
I loved this game. It was almost like destiny for the two teams to return a year later both undefeated. I'm a bama fan but I thought Florida had a very classy team. Alabama just wanted it more. As for Tebow crying, that was a very important game especially being his senior year. Also their last loss he made a promise to the fans that they'd never lose another game ( of course its almost impossible to keep.) I'm glad they went to the sugar bowl and beat the crap out of Cincinnati.
Alabama fan here to, but I agree with you. I don't understand the shots at Tebow either. I think there are just unfortunately a rogue group of so called "fans" that are very mean spirited and have no real respect for college football, good sportsmanship and respect for their opponent. And, every team seems to have those type of fans too. Tebow is a class guy.
I am a die hard UF fan, but I have respect for Bama. They win a lot, but, even when they lose, they just say hey, they were better today and there's always next year.
Still one of the toughest losses for me to stomach. Just got absolutely dominated in every facet of the game by a better and a more determined team. Hope we can get back again soon.
Bama:Cody, Ingram,(McElroy retired) Arenas is all over the place, Florida on the other hand has Haden(probably best on 09 team) Spikes, Tebow didnt eat 11+ inches in Denver
no i went to mandarin the school that has a rivalry with everyone go mustangs! lol looking forward in 2 weeks when you guys play my noles :) although its also disappointing cause its the last game of our regular season.
@jenn smith I don't know how you can even say that.did you watch the Alabama game?LSU gave them all they can handle.les miles' coaching decisions lost that game.granted in the beginning of the season LSU wasn't playing well at all but zach is playing much better now.LSU defense has always been top notch.and LSU has always played well over the last couple years.defeating multiple high rank teams.
Where the Florida decline began, the Alabama dominance started. I'm watching this as a Gator fan, getting an idea of what McElwain is bringing here. We're excited to have him!
Roll Damn tide 205 Any real college football fans knows all about Alabama's dominance. Have a little humility buddy. Lets face it. You didn't play football at Alabama anyway. Maybe you went to school there maybe not. It's just a game.
Funny how he recovered so quickly when o-lie-o state came along so do not try and feed us that horse shit everyone knows he lied so he could take a ride on the wambulance lol
I really don't understand how they had the heart to interview Tim Tebow in that moment. He was so broken down and so disappointed. "How disappointing is this for you?" WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT? Obviously it's incredibly disappointing. What a stupid question. She legitimately looked like she enjoyed watching him suffer.
It actually started the season before when Bama went 12-2. That was the beginning of this special run. They were 12-0 reg. season in 2008, and had UF down in the 4th qtr in the SECCG, let it get away. Then I think they had a hard time getting excited to play Utah, after coming so close to being in the BCSCG. Just my opinion....I don't think Utah was a better team than Bama. I do think Bama was simply disappointed to be playing them.
this is one of alabama's best wins ever.there are few teams in the history of FBS that could've beaten that florida team.also if we could stop tebow fron running we definitly would''ve stopped colt mccoy.Roll tide roll.
Not sure that I ever said we shouldn't count any particular years? I even said that Alabama'a overall record vs the Gators was 24-14. Yes I pointed out their record since 1990 and their record vs Bama in the SEC championship game. I think I covered all the years. I think you are making things up buddy. Florida had some good years pre 1990. 83' 9-2-1, 84' 9-1-1, 85' 9-1-1, 66' 9-2, 60' 9-2. I was at the game that UCF beat Alabama 40-38 in 2000. Yea!
I think if anybody has the best chance in the SEC East to face Bama in the SEC championship, it's UF. I hope UF can get their offense straightened out this year, that's what concerns us Gators fans.
FYI, Florida is 4-3 vs Alabama in SEC championship games. The actual overall record is Alabama 24-14 but since 1990 it's Florida 8-7. Just a couple of facts for you. Florida was not much of a football program pre 1990, although they had good years here and there, they were not consistent.
Yes, Tebow is an awesome human being and a great football player. I have no problem with him being a role model for any of my children. Unfortunately, class and talent don't always go hand in hand. Alabama was the better team this night and I'm sure Tebow used this defeat to build on his already fine character.
I don't have a problem with Florida per se, although their fans can be annoying when they are trying to figure out how to make Tebow walk on water. but you're right, I can't remember FL ever being undefeated and untied. Even the years they won the BCS they had a loss each year (FSU, Auburn, Ole Miss).
Same for me. Alabama thoroughly dominated us and just flat out wanted it more. Florida just rolled over when Alabama kept coming. We were never right the whole year. We bout lost to Arkansas at home and with Addazio calling the plays our offense was NOT what it should have been. Either way we were not beating Bama on this day. Saban had them ready to go from the start. It was obvious early on that Bama wanted it more.
There was one drive in the 2nd quarter we allowed you to get on a run. We had a big play each game that year, given up with busted coverage (not all were scores), and that was the only touchdown Florida scored the entire game.
um actually no..ron zook and larry fedora scouted the areas of jacksonville and talked to tim when he attending nease high school. people give urban meyer so much credit when he was lucky to have a strong team and then when timmy left he went to coach the team hes always to lead.
After watching this game over I can see that Amari Cooper is the best receiver Bama has had it a long time!! Jones looks for the refs every time he's touched, Tebow had got a little full of himself in this game but they had a plan for that to!! Roll Tide.
To be completely honest with you I'm not worried about either Texas A&M nor LSU..Alabama is going ot have a bye week just before they play College Station so they will definitely work to their advantage, beside Nick Saban is a genuis in revenge games & as for LSU facing UA both team will have bye weeks just before they face each other so it should be a big game this year.
I feel Bad For Tebow, Im FSU but. 22 Straight games without losing, Last Year as a NCAAF Player, First Place in NCAAF, 1 Last game before BCS, Loses and Goes to a Bowl. That is Just sad. : /
Alabama's schedule was a little simple i can admit , but most teams who win the BCS are given a easy schedule that's just how it works. ND on the other hand was given their money worth when facing lesser opponents this whole season.
After his pledge following the loss to Ole Miss the previous season, he didn't think the law of averages could catch up with him and the Florida Gators. Nobody game the Alabama Crimson Tide a change in this game. I remember Kirk Herbstreit saying "Obviously, with Tebow, I have to give Florida the edge".
@@ILoveOldTWC I was among them. Me and my dad were out of town watching my HS win a state title. When we were driving back, I checked the score and saw Bama had an early lead. I was skeptical about Bama winning and while I'm not a Bama fan, they made a great day even better.
If you do not get your wish this year you probably will in 2013 and 14. With Bama winning both of those along with the BCS Championship those 2 years as well.
Coaching is a complicated "science". Sometimes college coaches try to use similar techniques in personel from the NCAA and translate it to the NFL. They try to mold professionals in a way. Saban "wanted" too much. When he was coaching in the NCAA he could always find the LB, DT, DE, CB, or whatever he wanted through scouting. In the NFL you get only what is available. He lacked the NFL experience he needed. But I admit he is a coaching mastermind in the NCAA. He tried and failed he admitted it.
We live "today", so yea, I concentrate much more on recent history. Don't you think that is pretty normal? Florida has more wins than any other college team since 1990. 12 BCS bowl games in the last 20 years. 3 National Titles in the last 20 years. I'm sorry if you don't understand that. I could talk about Princeton's 28 National titles if you like, lol.
Urban Meyer recruited Tim Tebow, Meyer fell asleep at Tebow's house because he was so exhausted from recruiting. Tebow's mother put a Gator blanket on Meyer as he slept. Meyer thought it was a good sign when he woke up. Zook had nothing to do with it. In fact, Tebow said he was seriously considering Bama before Meyer recruited him at Florida.
i think tebow wanted to give florida their first undefeated team ever and cap his senior year with back to back bcs championships and possibly his second heisman trophy along with a perfect season and it all ended in this game.
So awesome to see AJ McCarron, Barrett Jones, Kevin Norwood, and Eddie Lacy on the sidelines. Champs in the making.
Barrett Jones started at right guard.
Thanks

Not anymore... Tebow is out of the NFL. Hernadez is jailed. Cooper is a racist that people don't want to play with. Should I continue?

The 2009 Bama squad, is still the best SEC team of the modern era.
I do think Bama was simply disappointed to be playing them.
so steve spurrier has how many nat'l champs????
Amen. I couldn't agree more. I get really tired of hearing about him being "gay" for his religion and standing up for what he believes in.
this is one of alabama's best wins ever.there are few teams in the history of FBS that could've beaten that florida team.also if we could stop tebow fron running we definitly would''ve stopped colt mccoy.Roll tide roll.
Why you thinks happened to your gators when they met Louisville?
I'm guessing you're a UF fan?
FYI, Florida is 4-3 vs Alabama in SEC championship games. The actual overall record is Alabama 24-14 but since 1990 it's Florida 8-7. Just a couple of facts for you. Florida was not much of a football program pre 1990, although they had good years here and there, they were not consistent.
After this game Alabama has rolled to 4 National Titles. 4 out of 8 National Titles. Dynasty. Enjoy America.
anyone know the reason why Alabama has numbers on their helmets unlike other colleges?
The same reason their uniforms have gone unchanged for decades. Old fashioned; which appeals to the Walmart fans who are Bama fans.
The number represents the number of national championships the college has won.
***** Walmart fans would be the ones who like those shiny colors on helmets, or big pictures of tigers....
aliGyo I love the classic look and it's unique. Alot better than the stupid letters on the side of the helmets like most teams
Yes....and also the time span that I'm alive, lol...you are funny dude!
that game was amazin i cannot what till the next game thay play
this damn game still haunts the hell out of me...
Yes, Tebow is an awesome human being and a great football player. I have no problem with him being a role model for any of my children. Unfortunately, class and talent don't always go hand in hand. Alabama was the better team this night and I'm sure Tebow used this defeat to build on his already fine character.
+Michael Little And hats off to McElroy for the performance and his class.
Hey!!! i would never ever,ever ever,ever ever
Who wins this game?
um actually no..ron zook and larry fedora scouted the areas of jacksonville and talked to tim when he attending nease high school. people give urban meyer so much credit when he was lucky to have a strong team and then when timmy left he went to coach the team hes always to lead.
After watching this game over I can see that Amari Cooper is the best receiver Bama has had it a long time!! Jones looks for the refs every time he's touched, Tebow had got a little full of himself in this game but they had a plan for that to!! Roll Tide.
Prothro was there first. Unfortunately he got injured and had to quit playing.
50:29 - aww look at baby AJ!
I'm not even an Alabama fan, but I never thought about that. These Bama guys would be a lot more tight-lipped I know that for a fact.
ND on the other hand was given their money worth when facing lesser opponents this whole season.
the image of tebow crying at the end will NEVER get old. i was so happy he lost that game.
it is easy to see you never played sports in anything,,,
@@jimmyhaley727 Oookay. I have no idea what that has to do with my original comment, but okay.
He tried and failed he admitted it.
these are 2 of the best teams ever, maybe Alabama's best win ever.
Just gotta stop the picture from freezing
Love the rammer jamemer at the end, while they play tebow cry.
awesome games!
