Christmas is my favorite time in Paris. The seasonal difference in foods, the lack of tourists, the art exhibitions (some of the most amazing art I’ve ever experienced was in winter exhibitions!) - so much to love about Paris in winter.

Just back from our trip to Normandy with 2 days in Paris. Your directions from CDG via RER were spot on. Unfortunately, the connector in St. Michel was closed for repairs. BUT, we had so many wonderful English speaking Parisians help us out that getting lost was part of our adventure. Thx for all of your wonderful tips! A boat ride on the Seine, a stop at the Eiffel Tower, and a Nutella crepe in your honor, Antoine, filled our day! 😊

I am choosing this video to ask this because it is the most current. Can you do a video on the best cafes and restaurants in the left bank but totally in French with subtitles. I love hearing it in French! I took French in High School in the 80s and it helps hearing you guys say it.
Maybe you could talk about Le Reveillon for Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve. It is so wonderful & there is nothing like it in the US. Depending on the restaurant it is usually necessary to make reservations (as far in advance as possible). Also maybe talk about some of the French holiday customs. My first Christmas in Paris I loaded up on gifts for Christmas only to find out that in general the bigger gift giving day is New Year's Day. Also good to know--if you are going to do Le Reveillon at home rather than in a restaurant--you can find excellent dinner options in your local street market. In the Rue de Seine (my local market) there was an extravaganza of choices from paella to fresh seafood to beautiful cheeses to special breads & amazng desserts. Great guest worthy meal, no cooking.

Christmas in Paris is the best !!! However, the Christmas market at the Eiffel Tower has been cancelled for a few years now.. at least the one that used to be on Champs de Mars. Maybe there's another one there that i couldn't find?

Are you going to do sth about le 14 juillet? If so I’d suggest have a look at les bals des pompiers! Seems the best one is right opposite the Hotel JoBo in rue Sevigne. But there are others around town. The Sap Pomp sell tickets in the street in the week(s) before le 14!
We've spent many magical Christmases in Paris. Such a great time to visit the City of Lights. This year we'll be in London, a whole new Santa Holiday Adventure. 🎅

Antoine who grew up in France, pronounces Seine like "sane" as many Americans would, while Colleen pronounces it correctly as "sen". At what age did Antoine move to the U.S. and how many years have you spent there?
@@james-p Pronounce the last two letters of ahoy as in ships ahoy and you should be good (or even boy, joy, etc.). The r is very tricky and I will only ever be able to approximate the sound.
