I feel like Felix Faust should scare the crap out of Constantine, who's a back alley exorcist at best. Faust's a guy who fights the Justice League to a standstill. Good guy for the role, though.
Back-alley exorcist he may be, but both you and I can bet he is THE BEST BACK-ALLEY EXORCIST in DC. It’s not that Constantine doesn’t lavish in magic, he finds it troublesome despite having one of the best magical affinities in the entirety of DC
It works especially getting such a threatening figure like Hector from Breaking Bad. Age doesn’t stop a good performance (Justice League cartoon also made Felix an older man)
I loved Doctor Strange but John Constatntine is a totally different character. Hellblazer itself is one of the darkest comics I've read. Kinda hard to find similarities but I really wish they would do an R rated small scale movie similar to the comics.
Matt Ryan is to John Constantine what Robert Downey Jr is to Tony Stark. Two of the most comic accurate depictions of all time. I'm sorry but Reeves' version wasn't Constantine at all.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would be a better choice. Yes I know he's Danish and Constantine is English, but it could still work.
