Already play HSR since it launched, good game really. At first, I just want to try Hoyo game because I want a side game while FGO on dead weeks, beside my Gil is already max level and I don't know what to do. Tried HSR, HI3rd, Genshin, PGR and others games, but man, only HSR remain side by side with FGO. For me, playing HSR gives this strange and familiar feels like I am actually playing FGO not Honkai. Maybe it is because how they doing the story and the world building, and how trailblazing feels like a rayshifting to new singularities. So when the devs had a meeting with Nasu back then, and said that they were a big fan of Fate series and it was their inspiration. It clicked. This is why when they drop the collab, I am screaming so hard. My two babies are finally join forces and it is official collab. Already begin to save jades for possible playable Gil, so I can E6S5 him. For FGO, no. I don't want it to collab with any games. It is about Ritsuka journey, I don't want any random events to enter it. I am fine if FGO characters playable on other games, but not the way around. But, but, if it is HSR, maybeeeeeee... I am gonna consider it.
I’ve played HSR since launch and I’m so ridiculously hyped for two of the biggest nerd interests of mine collabing. I just hope the collab lives up to expectations because there’s a lot of time between now and next year for hype to build up.

My recomendation is that you star t an HSR account now so that you can passively get the stellar jades (gacha currency) so that you can get gilgamesh for free, maybe even max it out. (assuming he is one of the chracters) If he is not one of them then you can drop it. Just a suggestion but whatever you decide to do best of luck.
It was confirmed a few weeks ago that Hoyoverse was in contact with Nasu and they talked most of us expected maybe an event written by Nasu or he helped for Penacony the most recent "world" in HSR which has a lot of Fate references but a full on event was unexpected and with 1 year prior notice it wont be a small merch collab I expect 2-4 characters and some skins from the event
If HSR, which I do play, gives me a 3D playable version of Saiba, with English voice acting, and especially an ultimate, which is HSRs version of a noble phantasm, of Saiba screaming "EXCALIBUR" in full English, I may never play FGO again
@@TheMainCharacterJack Thankfully you have a lot of time to save up and HSR are generous enough to save a lot in a year for FSN characters (there is a chance for playble Gil and a skin). I think its gonna be 3 Playble characters minimum with 3 Skins. And it seems they got separate planet for the Collab Event story.
Came here from Junichi Suwabe's voice reveal in HSR's Gamescom video 🎉 Hi! I played FGO long before HSR release, until FGO not compatible anymore on my phone while HSR still okay. Dunno what change[s] FGO made to turn the app like that (size itself, FGO is lighter than HSR). By this background, I would say, UBW collab on HSR is like a light of hope for me who can't install FGO anymore, while also agree that FGO collab with non-Nasuverse is a bad sign. UBW as a "smaller" part of Nasuverse is a clever choice in this matter.
As someone who plays Star Rail, I kind of hope that they do more with the characters instead of just giving them to us or making us roll for them in the gatcha like Aloy from the Genshin and the Horizon Zero Dawn collab. I know Hoyoverse did a Honkai Impact collab with Evangelion where they got Asuka as a playable character, the Lance of Loginus as a weapon and 4 collab stigatas (which is the equipment/CE of the game) as well as costumes for the characters. As for if Gilgamesh will be in the game or not, I feel like Shiro, Rin, Saber and Archer would most likely be in the game since they are like the main characters. Gilgamesh might be a boss, but I feel like he is way too popular to not be playable. Unfortunately that could also be applied to Cu and Medusa as well. I'm not sure about Kojirou, but Medea might be incuded because waifu reasons.
9:27 Unless Aniplex would somehow be generous enough to (want to) provide funding for full 3D-polished sequel-game to FGO in HSR style. But i dont see it happaning soon (or at all) and as you said as long as normal FGO makes money they will not care and its service will not end (Aniplex is greedy anyway). Since even if Nasu leaves the FGO Writer Team will continue the buisness with Lasangle and Aniplex. Anyway, thats why im glad we are getting that 3D-model feel again with FSN x HSR collab cus at least the characters and most of the animation (especially battle animations) there looks very good for sure.
Tbh I don't ever the see them doing a full 3D mobile game just for the sheer fact that nobody plays FGO for its gameplay. People play for the characters & the stories. So I can never see them going for a totally new gameplay system since that is not what's giving them money to begin with
HSR is my favorite gacha, and they give out a ton of rewards compared to some other gachas, and you can get a guaranteed standard 5 star in 50 pulls (as compared to the 65 soft pity and 90 hard pity), it is a turn based game with a 3d world, you journey to multiple planets and best pf all it is funny! As long as you don't get addicted to the Gacha you should try it
Fun fact: GGZ, one of the Honkai Universe Series, senior game of HSR and HI3, they already do Collab with FGO and another Fate series which is I don't remember what it's name. So HSR is second game in Mihoyo/Hoyoverses that collab with them and because GGZ is only available on CN and JP right now, that's why most of the people don't know about that.
And yet Kantai Collection is older than any current games out there yet its dedicated and stable players are still keeping it alive. I salute DMM games for that by not trying to conform to current day trends. If there's nothing to change then dont change anything. That's it. They just need to protect their playerbase rather than listening to destructive criticism by other people.
Definitely a FANTASTIC point. If Kantai Collection & other older games can survive relying almost totally on their own with little to no collaborations, there is no reason FGO can't as long the established fans stay satisfied
I play both Star Rail and FGO, so this was a surprise! I wonder if it’ll be an in game thing or just something in the real world, and usually international fans get the short end of the stick of MiHoYo real life collabs just like how Fate does collabs in real life only in Japan, but it’s still cool none the less!
The fact it was announced on the English social media pages as well tells me it's a collab for everyone & not just IRL Japanese event or something along those lines. I'm looking forward to it regardless as well
I have no qualms with Honkai fans or their game. I hope the collab is fun and everyone enjoys it. If I started Star Rail it would be on my phone and after trying Honkai Impact 3rd on my phone last year I’d rather not. Lots of things I didn’t understand. And it personally didn’t feel fun to me. I did like the student/teacher thing it had. A system to let veterans help new players learn the ropes by messing them and such. Very cool. I barely touch Genshin anymore so my main games are FGO, Blue Archive and Nikke now but I wouldn’t be opposed to trying something new.
These are just my thoughts and I have no supporting facts: 1. Have you seen the announcement of a new game dedicated to the Madoka Magica universe? This is the second gacha about this world. The first was gradually forgotten and brought in little money. It was published by Aniplex and no one expected the second part. However, they decided to create a new gacha game. Notice how it turned out, judging by the posted screenshots. 2. The release of the event with Faith UBW is scheduled approximately for the 10th anniversary of the FGO. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I don't think so. 3. Around the summer of 2025 or at the end of 2025, we will receive an epilogue to the FGO Lostbelt. The main story will be finished. 3. At the last anniversary, the developers asked FGO players where to move their project and whether they agreed to version 2.0 4. We know that we were recruiting developers for the FGO. However, if we look at the frequency of updates, the FGO has slowed down. 5. Nasu himself said that the current FGO engine cannot cope with all the ideas of scriptwriters and developers. However, he praised Aniplex for the financing. Perhaps, just perhaps, take this only as my fantasy, we will see in 2025, on the 10th anniversary of the FGO, an announcement of an update or a new version. In this case, cooperation will become a reason for HSR players to pay attention to Fate.
So I'll say, if u have self control, then I'll recommend you playing the game. Basically what I mean is if you are someone that can control yourself and not spending money, HSR is really good game. You can basically keep storing currency from now until a year later, and you'll have enough to get any fate crossover character with max copies and it's weapon. (Assuming it's character collab) Personally I'm saving and hoping for Emiya Archer. (And Rin) If you stripe HSR out of it's gacha, its a really good jrpq game (or does this count as crpq since its China? hmmm), with a good story (minus luofu, that arc sucked), and great music/ost. You can beat the whole game with starter characters but it'll be hard. Very hard, and you'll need grinding since some of the default characters will struggle at later stories, even if properly build. I believe you can lower the world difficulty to make the game easier, if not there's always the option of not doing the rank up mission sooo the content will be easy to play as. But since you do stream, it might be harder for u to play without spending since chat tends to pressure streamers to pull. So only try the game if you can hold yourself from sending recklessly.
Gilgamesh would be an instant I would at LEAST try the game out. Although, in the end of the day, it's not a Fate game so even if Gil is in it, he would just be a collab character & thus would lose his luster fast since he would not be involved in any future stories.

Fair point haha I just think about how in Extra CCC, Gil left for the stars to conquer. It's definitely unintentional, but a decade later, the idea of using Gil to conquer the stars in a different world is just PEAK
Honestly, I think FGO needs a redo of the overall game. I feel like it's behind in terms of the gameplay. FGO 2 with updated gacha mechanics would be the best case scenario for me. Now that the visual novels will be localized, maybe expand it to a Type-Moon gacha game. A Type Moon gacha game would incentivize players to play the visual novels and continue their fandom with a gacha game. I do feel like interest has cooled down after HF finished releasing, but we are getting Fate Strange Fake soon. It'll help bring interest back to FGO. Type Moon has a loyal fanbase. I think we are just getting started. Mahoyo and Tsukihime will become anime in the nearby future, and I will be excited to see interest pick up again. Great video.
@@voidepiphany To be fair with your last point that FGO interest has cooled down, it is a 9 year old game so interest dying is not at all surprising. And despite that, it still makes great money. As you said, Type Moon has a very loyal fanbase. So, in a way, it almost doesn't matter that its hype & even popularity has died down despite its seniority & its modern "competition." As far as a brand new game altogether, it goes back to what I just said -- FGO is still a monster money printer. In order for Aniplex & the game devs to even consider a new game, the profits need to drop substantially. And I'm talking not just whales buying Quartz -- I'm talking merch sales as well, which IMO has been doing as good as it has ever been. And when I say drop substantially, I mean going from millions/billions of profit to maybe a only hitting six digits. Otherwise, why even invest in a new game? The only metric that matters in business is money. That is why every time I see a people complain, I always say "don't play & most of all don't spend monet if you feel that way." Hit them where it hurts -- their wallets. Until people's many complaints & disinterests translates to less dollars & yen, then I don't see a new game replacing FGO. At best, FGO will continue to build upon its current foundation slowly but surely. Plus, let's also be real: most loyal players don't play for the gameplay anyway. Yes, I agree with many that I wish the gameplay was more engaging & fun. But, in the end, a lot of us get the most enjoyment from the stories & the characters. It's a common saying in the community that FGO is a visual novel disguised as a gacha game, & while that is usually said in a joking way, there is a lot of truth found in that statement. And this is coming from someone who has ADHD & has a lot of trouble sitting there & reading.
@@TheMainCharacterJack Great point. Honkai Star Rail is a new game, where I feel like a lot of the interest went. FGO has been around longer and most of my friends seem to not be as invested anymore. That's just how the cycle goes. About the gameplay and story, mostly true. The story feels a lot like a visual novel; if it was released today, then we'd probably have better gameplay. The story only gets released so many times a year, and I find a lot of the event storylines a bit silly. So it's mostly waiting time in terms of the Lostbelts for me. There really is not an incentive for another game, that's correct. Everything you said is true. I just know that I log in and log out everyday because I finished maxing most of my servants. I do not feel as if I have much to do anymore in FGO other than to roll for other Type Moon characters when they get released like Alice and Aoko. Since I am mostly NA only, I just save in advance for who I want. It's not as if I am bitter not to spend money because of the gameplay. Did the GSSR at AX with my Fate friends because it was fun. But basically to sum it up, I don’t think FGO as a game has reached its full potential. I feel like you have to be a fan before to play FGO. I will never complain about the story of the characters.
@voidepiphany Tbh though, being a Fate or Type Moon fan was always kind've a requirement, in a way. Yes, thousands if not millions of players probably started FGO with little to no knowledge of Fate. In fact, I know a lot of people personally & online whose introduction to Fate & Type Moon was FGO. Opinions about how one starts Fate aside & be that as it may, the only ones who stayed playing FGO for years & years until this day are EITHER the already established Fate/Nasuverse fans OR those who branched out & got into other Fates or Type Moon works (AKA dove deeper into the world outside of FGO). Those who don't really read & get into the story as well as other Type Moon works -- I've noticed -- are the ones more likely to leave FGO eventually. And even moreso than even that, those who only played for gacha DEFINITELY are the most likely to move on to the next, shiny new game. And there's no shame in that -- I'm not gonna force the story or Type Moon in general down anyone's throats. It's just what I've observed. The thing with HSR & almost every other major mobile/gacha game is that they can stand alone. Yes, I'm aware HSR is part of the mihoyoverse much like how FGO is part of the Nasuverse, but unless I'm mistaken, unlike FGO & other Type Moon works, the mihoyoverse is not really interconnected; therefore, every mihoyoverse game can stand alone while FGO is tied to the Nasuverse -- for better or for worse. After all, many FGO fans say that if it wasn't for Fate, FGO would NOT have ever succeeded given it's gameplay & early story. And I agree with that, but I don't see that as a bad thing or a limitation. All that to say, FGO (and when you think about it, Type Moon as a whole) does NOT need to be "the hype" or the most popular thing at any given moment. Type Moon has never been that anyway. So, in a weird way, I kinda disagree with you in that I think FGO has reached its ceiling because Type Moon can only go so far. It's been around for decades, but it never tried to get to that next level of mainstream media -- quite frankly because it does not need to. The same reason FGO does not do collabs outside -- it does not need to. The same reason the devs don't shake things up -- they don't need to. The loyal fans are already here & if new fans come in, great. But at this point, I think the devs want to satisfy the established Type Moon fanbase rather than try to cater to new people. Definitely the last of the last things I expected. I play HSR the most now since I enjoy turn based RPGs. I kinda stopped FGO. The gacha doesn't feel rewarding anymore. I enjoy everything else though but if 360 SQ doesn't get you a single 5 Star Character then you're doing something wrong.
Look at all these Star rail Players influencing this man into playing the gacha game lol At the end of the day we barely know anything about the collab itself even leaks (except that it sounds like a world made for the collab could be in the works yet to be confirmed) so if you think Star Rail can be up your alley despite the gacha elements than go and give it a try, it's not too predatory except if you care a lot about meta or just curbstomping the game's content but outside that the game is fine... That being said stay far far away from cimmunity, specifically twitter, reddit and TH-cam lol there's always a drama going within the community or with content creators. Just look at the pretty art, music and enjoy the game really.
Haha to be clear, I've been decided that I would NOT give it a shot unless the UBW collab gives me the character I want. So while I appreciate players' input & opinions, nothing but what I personally want will get me to start HSR. And as far as staying away from the community, I pretty much stay clear from even the Fate community besides my immediate circle & viewers haha toxicity is found in every online community, unfortunately, so I know not to get too dep in the online discourse.

Will they? No. They can keep collabing with Type Moon franchises and haven't run out of steam in that respect. Should they? Well honestly I don't care if they do since I'm not playing Honkai. But it would allow for some legitimate "I want FGO to collab with this" conversations since they would have opened the door to that.
Umm fate had a collab with jp ver of alchemy code long time ago. Also it is not fgo collab with hsr but instead UBW. Which is kinda sad since thats mean no mordred, jeanne and jalter possibility.
Steven Universe crossover in my opinion is one of the most likely crossovers to occur due to the lore implications especially the hidden connections between the stonehearts, Diamond (the emanator), the diamonds (Steven Universe), and the crystal gems. Perhaps some lore can be addressed and we will visit homeworld a planet that secretly contains monuments of quilpoth and four new characters would be playable such as Steven (fire, preservation type), Garnet (fire, destruction type), Pearl (physical, harmony type), and amethyst (quantum, erudition type) that would all be five star characters that have a unique kit in particular with their ultimates. Their ultimates allow you to select one or more additional characters and if they have a certain talent that gems have, they will be able to fuse into a stronger gem with enhanced basic attacks, special attacks, and enhanced ultimate attacks that all can be unleashed before a countdown reaches zero (similar to Firefly’s primary combustion). However, each gem must have their ultimate at max energy in order to perform a successful fusion and the strongest fusion (Obsidian) between all four allies require all allies to have their ultimate at max energy. Another reason why I think Steven Universe collab is highly probable because of how profitable it is. In order to experience the extremely powerful obsidian fusion, you will need to have all four members of the Crystal gems otherwise that specific fusion won’t be available. Also, it would bring fans of the show into the game and help the game become more popular. Also, who doesn’t want their team merging into one giant entity that deals massive damage, has massive health and resistances, less susceptibility to aoe attacks (due to one ally on the battlefield) and specializes in powerful counter attacks.

Feels like only yesterday when I first saw fate zero and ubw animes. Course I do rewatch it every year and still have a good time.
I need to rewatch both at some point now that I'm older & more experienced/knowledgeable with the Nasuverse. I was a SCRUB back in the day haha

They collabed with Fate Kalleid Liner Illya last month, not FGO per se.
Hsr have a dialogue choice that the trailblazer can choose that is a tweaking of the ubw chant at the near of 2.1 patch of hsr

I salute DMM games for that by not trying to conform to current day trends. If there's nothing to change then dont change anything. That's it. They just need to protect their playerbase rather than listening to destructive criticism by other people.
Definitely a FANTASTIC point. If Kantai Collection & other older games can survive relying almost totally on their own with little to no collaborations, there is no reason FGO can't as long the established fans stay satisfied
I play both Star Rail and FGO, so this was a surprise! I wonder if it’ll be an in game thing or just something in the real world, and usually international fans get the short end of the stick of MiHoYo real life collabs just like how Fate does collabs in real life only in Japan, but it’s still cool none the less!
The fact it was announced on the English social media pages as well tells me it's a collab for everyone & not just IRL Japanese event or something along those lines.

I have no qualms with Honkai fans or their game. I hope the collab is fun and everyone enjoys it.
If I started Star Rail it would be on my phone and after trying Honkai Impact 3rd on my phone last year I’d rather not. Lots of things I didn’t understand. And it personally didn’t feel fun to me. I did like the student/teacher thing it had.
A system to let veterans help new players learn the ropes by messing them and such. Very cool.
I barely touch Genshin anymore so my main games are FGO, Blue Archive and Nikke now but I wouldn’t be opposed to trying something new.
These are just my thoughts and I have no supporting facts:
1. Have you seen the announcement of a new game dedicated to the Madoka Magica universe? This is the second gacha about this world. The first was gradually forgotten and brought in little money. It was published by Aniplex and no one expected the second part. However, they decided to create a new gacha game. Notice how it turned out, judging by the posted screenshots.
2. The release of the event with Faith UBW is scheduled approximately for the 10th anniversary of the FGO. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I don't think so.
3. Around the summer of 2025 or at the end of 2025, we will receive an epilogue to the FGO Lostbelt. The main story will be finished.
3. At the last anniversary, the developers asked FGO players where to move their project and whether they agreed to version 2.0
4. We know that we were recruiting developers for the FGO. However, if we look at the frequency of updates, the FGO has slowed down.
5. Nasu himself said that the current FGO engine cannot cope with all the ideas of scriptwriters and developers. However, he praised Aniplex for the financing.
Perhaps, just perhaps, take this only as my fantasy, we will see in 2025, on the 10th anniversary of the FGO, an announcement of an update or a new version. In this case, cooperation will become a reason for HSR players to pay attention to Fate.

So I'll say, if u have self control, then I'll recommend you playing the game. Basically what I mean is if you are someone that can control yourself and not spending money, HSR is really good game. You can basically keep storing currency from now until a year later, and you'll have enough to get any fate crossover character with max copies and it's weapon. (Assuming it's character collab) Personally I'm saving and hoping for Emiya Archer. (And Rin)
If you stripe HSR out of it's gacha, its a really good jrpq game (or does this count as crpq since its China? hmmm), with a good story (minus luofu, that arc sucked), and great music/ost.
You can beat the whole game with starter characters but it'll be hard. Very hard, and you'll need grinding since some of the default characters will struggle at later stories, even if properly build. I believe you can lower the world difficulty to make the game easier, if not there's always the option of not doing the rank up mission sooo the content will be easy to play as.
But since you do stream, it might be harder for u to play without spending since chat tends to pressure streamers to pull. So only try the game if you can hold yourself from sending recklessly.
HSR is pretty fun and a nice soft example of a pity system compared to the heavy handed hogge hammer of FGO

Gilgamesh would be an instant I would at LEAST try the game out. Although, in the end of the day, it's not a Fate game so even if Gil is in it, he would just be a collab character & thus would lose his luster fast since he would not be involved in any future stories.

Fair point haha I just think about how in Extra CCC, Gil left for the stars to conquer. It's definitely unintentional, but a decade later, the idea of using Gil to conquer the stars in a different world is just PEAK

Honestly, I think FGO needs a redo of the overall game. I feel like it's behind in terms of the gameplay. FGO 2 with updated gacha mechanics would be the best case scenario for me. Now that the visual novels will be localized, maybe expand it to a Type-Moon gacha game. A Type Moon gacha game would incentivize players to play the visual novels and continue their fandom with a gacha game.
I do feel like interest has cooled down after HF finished releasing, but we are getting Fate Strange Fake soon. It'll help bring interest back to FGO. Type Moon has a loyal fanbase. I think we are just getting started. Mahoyo and Tsukihime will become anime in the nearby future, and I will be excited to see interest pick up again. Great video.
@@voidepiphany To be fair with your last point that FGO interest has cooled down, it is a 9 year old game so interest dying is not at all surprising. And despite that, it still makes great money. As you said, Type Moon has a very loyal fanbase. So, in a way, it almost doesn't matter that its hype & even popularity has died down despite its seniority & its modern "competition."
As far as a brand new game altogether, it goes back to what I just said -- FGO is still a monster money printer. In order for Aniplex & the game devs to even consider a new game, the profits need to drop substantially. And I'm talking not just whales buying Quartz -- I'm talking merch sales as well, which IMO has been doing as good as it has ever been. And when I say drop substantially, I mean going from millions/billions of profit to maybe a only hitting six digits. Otherwise, why even invest in a new game? The only metric that matters in business is money. That is why every time I see a people complain, I always say "don't play & most of all don't spend monet if you feel that way." Hit them where it hurts -- their wallets.
Until people's many complaints & disinterests translates to less dollars & yen, then I don't see a new game replacing FGO. At best, FGO will continue to build upon its current foundation slowly but surely. Plus, let's also be real: most loyal players don't play for the gameplay anyway. Yes, I agree with many that I wish the gameplay was more engaging & fun. But, in the end, a lot of us get the most enjoyment from the stories & the characters. It's a common saying in the community that FGO is a visual novel disguised as a gacha game, & while that is usually said in a joking way, there is a lot of truth found in that statement. And this is coming from someone who has ADHD & has a lot of trouble sitting there & reading.
@@TheMainCharacterJack Great point. Honkai Star Rail is a new game, where I feel like a lot of the interest went. FGO has been around longer and most of my friends seem to not be as invested anymore. That's just how the cycle goes. About the gameplay and story, mostly true. The story feels a lot like a visual novel; if it was released today, then we'd probably have better gameplay. The story only gets released so many times a year, and I find a lot of the event storylines a bit silly. So it's mostly waiting time in terms of the Lostbelts for me. There really is not an incentive for another game, that's correct.
Everything you said is true. I just know that I log in and log out everyday because I finished maxing most of my servants. I do not feel as if I have much to do anymore in FGO other than to roll for other Type Moon characters when they get released like Alice and Aoko. Since I am mostly NA only, I just save in advance for who I want. It's not as if I am bitter not to spend money because of the gameplay. Did the GSSR at AX with my Fate friends because it was fun. But basically to sum it up, I don’t think FGO as a game has reached its full potential. I feel like you have to be a fan before to play FGO. I will never complain about the story of the characters.
@voidepiphany Tbh though, being a Fate or Type Moon fan was always kind've a requirement, in a way. Yes, thousands if not millions of players probably started FGO with little to no knowledge of Fate. In fact, I know a lot of people personally & online whose introduction to Fate & Type Moon was FGO.
Opinions about how one starts Fate aside & be that as it may, the only ones who stayed playing FGO for years & years until this day are EITHER the already established Fate/Nasuverse fans OR those who branched out & got into other Fates or Type Moon works (AKA dove deeper into the world outside of FGO).
Those who don't really read & get into the story as well as other Type Moon works -- I've noticed -- are the ones more likely to leave FGO eventually. And even moreso than even that, those who only played for gacha DEFINITELY are the most likely to move on to the next, shiny new game. And there's no shame in that -- I'm not gonna force the story or Type Moon in general down anyone's throats. It's just what I've observed.
The thing with HSR & almost every other major mobile/gacha game is that they can stand alone. Yes, I'm aware HSR is part of the mihoyoverse much like how FGO is part of the Nasuverse, but unless I'm mistaken, unlike FGO & other Type Moon works, the mihoyoverse is not really interconnected; therefore, every mihoyoverse game can stand alone while FGO is tied to the Nasuverse -- for better or for worse. After all, many FGO fans say that if it wasn't for Fate, FGO would NOT have ever succeeded given it's gameplay & early story. And I agree with that, but I don't see that as a bad thing or a limitation.
All that to say, FGO (and when you think about it, Type Moon as a whole) does NOT need to be "the hype" or the most popular thing at any given moment. Type Moon has never been that anyway. So, in a weird way, I kinda disagree with you in that I think FGO has reached its ceiling because Type Moon can only go so far. It's been around for decades, but it never tried to get to that next level of mainstream media -- quite frankly because it does not need to. The same reason FGO does not do collabs outside -- it does not need to. The same reason the devs don't shake things up -- they don't need to.
The loyal fans are already here & if new fans come in, great. But at this point, I think the devs want to satisfy the established Type Moon fanbase rather than try to cater to new people. That's just me though. I could be completely wrong.
Definitely the last of the last things I expected. I play HSR the most now since I enjoy turn based RPGs. I kinda stopped FGO. The gacha doesn't feel rewarding anymore. I enjoy everything else though but if 360 SQ doesn't get you a single 5 Star Character then you're doing something wrong.
Fair enough. I just spent damn near 900 Quartz (almost hit Pity) for 1 SSR. So I certainly get the frustrations. They need to lower the pity 100%

At the end of the day we barely know anything about the collab itself even leaks (except that it sounds like a world made for the collab could be in the works yet to be confirmed) so if you think Star Rail can be up your alley despite the gacha elements than go and give it a try, it's not too predatory except if you care a lot about meta or just curbstomping the game's content but outside that the game is fine... That being said stay far far away from cimmunity, specifically twitter, reddit and TH-cam lol there's always a drama going within the community or with content creators. Just look at the pretty art, music and enjoy the game really.
Haha to be clear, I've been decided that I would NOT give it a shot unless the UBW collab gives me the character I want. So while I appreciate players' input & opinions, nothing but what I personally want will get me to start HSR.
And as far as staying away from the community, I pretty much stay clear from even the Fate community besides my immediate circle & viewers haha toxicity is found in every online community, unfortunately, so I know not to get too dep in the online discourse.

Will they? No. They can keep collabing with Type Moon franchises and haven't run out of steam in that respect.
Should they? Well honestly I don't care if they do since I'm not playing Honkai. But it would allow for some legitimate "I want FGO to collab with this" conversations since they would have opened the door to that.
Umm fate had a collab with jp ver of alchemy code long time ago. Also it is not fgo collab with hsr but instead UBW. Which is kinda sad since thats mean no mordred, jeanne and jalter possibility.

Steven Universe crossover in my opinion is one of the most likely crossovers to occur due to the lore implications especially the hidden connections between the stonehearts, Diamond (the emanator), the diamonds (Steven Universe), and the crystal gems. Perhaps some lore can be addressed and we will visit homeworld a planet that secretly contains monuments of quilpoth and four new characters would be playable such as Steven (fire, preservation type), Garnet (fire, destruction type), Pearl (physical, harmony type), and amethyst (quantum, erudition type) that would all be five star characters that have a unique kit in particular with their ultimates. Their ultimates allow you to select one or more additional characters and if they have a certain talent that gems have, they will be able to fuse into a stronger gem with enhanced basic attacks, special attacks, and enhanced ultimate attacks that all can be unleashed before a countdown reaches zero (similar to Firefly’s primary combustion). However, each gem must have their ultimate at max energy in order to perform a successful fusion and the strongest fusion (Obsidian) between all four allies require all allies to have their ultimate at max energy.
Another reason why I think Steven Universe collab is highly probable because of how profitable it is. In order to experience the extremely powerful obsidian fusion, you will need to have all four members of the Crystal gems otherwise that specific fusion won’t be available. Also, it would bring fans of the show into the game and help the game become more popular. Also, who doesn’t want their team merging into one giant entity that deals massive damage, has massive health and resistances, less susceptibility to aoe attacks (due to one ally on the battlefield) and specializes in powerful counter attacks.
Also, both Connie and Lars would become 4 stars within the two patches.
