Time flies and brings all kinds of memories and emotions to the fore at the most unexpected moments. In 1987, I was in a Nutcracker in San Francisco with Sascha. He was 9 years old and the most wonderful kid. His mother, a most supportive and warm lady, would bring him to class and he was already a perfect little gentleman who excelled in a la seconde turns. To run into this footage now was a very heartwarming treat.
It really is kind of sad. Heartbreaking. All that time with ABT and he only went as far as Soloist. He really did deserve more. His biggest stand-out was the CENTER STAGE movie and the Mandy Moore music video. I gotta tell ya, when I first saw that video... I was rooting for "Charlie" to wind up with Mandy, not "Jody." I mean, he did get a Principal spot with the National Dutch Ballet---Damn it all, I actually wish he had stayed with them. He deserved Principal-ship. But... I guess he missed the good ol' U.S. of A. He deserved such prestige. It's a crime. One hopes he got to at least dance some principal parts on his very last night...

I didn't know they never made him a Principal, he's so talented and seems like a really good dude!!
