This seems ridiculously in character for both of them, Oswald and Yozora having a Riku/Mickey friendship makes too much sense not for them to make it real. If you would’ve told me this was official I’d believe it 100%

I think it is the perfect time to introduce Oswald into KH. With Unreality and the whole Quadratum/parallel universe thing going on, it would be cool to see Oswald as the king of Unreality. Sora finds him and thinks he’s gonna be kind like Mickey, but instead Oswald is a jerk which makes them butt heads. There could even be some funny interactions between Donald and Goofy with Oswald. And that’s not even mentioning the potential of Yozora and Oswald having a history!
Nah, he should belong to the realm of reality and become part of malificents council after being banished from Disney castle. He could be an actual capable member rather than Pete given he’s a skilled keyblade weirder and user of high end dark magic.

It's actually complicated because there are copyrights on the name, the character and the short animations.
Like, the shorts are on th public domain, but the full name with 'the lucky rabbit' isn't, and the character himself has been bought back by a branch of Disney at some point in the 2k years. (Mostly for Epic Mickey I suppose)

Here’s my pitch for Oswald’s story in KH. He’s the king of a realm called the Universal Wasteland. He was banished there after he gave into the darkness to save Ortensia. Later Ortensia met Luxu who told her of the worlds looming destruction. She removed her heart from her body and turned it into the cornerstone of light and her body was reincarnated as the Life Tree in the Universal Wasteland which contains the essence of all worlds
Imagine the residents there are old concepts or beta designs that, in a meta sense, didn’t make it to the world they were meant to be in.

Disney never forgot about Oswald.. they put him in epic Mickey 1 and 2!! And they use cameos of him in Mickey Mouse shorts! Some Disney characters however aren’t in kingdom hearts 4 so if square Enix needs to make a better game then it’s best sequel then Kh2 they need final fantasy back and more Mickey characters! 😊
Disney bought Oswald back from Universal so they could use him in Epic Mickey, but after those games they've rarely used him. We did get a new Oswald short recently, and some cameos in a few things, which was cool. But aside from merchandising, he's basically unused., at least as of late.

Oh yes, the same company that made two experiment games to put Mickey Mouse in the world of video games and put him as a co-star character and from there they didn't use him again except for merchandise, money and some cameos that almost nobody recognized and that did not allow the director of KH to use the character for the story as well as canceled his series.

Disney gives zero shits about Oswald now and only tease him to make fans keep looking back when they walk away. if they actually accept the fact oswald is a cherished character and add him to literally ANYTHING id be surprised and happy but thats not likely.

I tapped out of the series when they started making the multiple games for handheld consoles, but I'd be pissed if something like this doesn't actually happen. Wanted something either like this or a world that is pretty much the cutting room floor where designs and ideas got scrapped and Sora gets changed to his chainsaw furry design, with Oswald as the world-specific party member.

Oswald was banished to the colorless realm for something that wasn’t his fault, will the darkness fester or will he move on from that?
You know storywise this could be a great way to plant Oswald in the story of kingdom hearts.
In terms of real life relation to the story, Oswald was created by Walt Disney before Mickey Mouse and even has Mickey's level of popularity before Walt lost the rights to the character and literally went back to the drawing board to create Mickey Mouse. And for more than eighty years Oswald was in the darkness abandoned and alone, stuck in one place with nowhere to go.
This could not only be a great way to include Oswald in kingdom hearts, but it would give Mickey and even Yen Sid a reason to travel to Unreality, to find and reunite with a member of the family they thought lost. Because in the context of disney, Oswald is Mickey's older brother and a much more stern and jealous individual since Mickey received everything Oswald once had and he's been stuck in another reality for an unspecified amount of time.
If I were to understand Oswald's position, he would pissed, combative and refuse to even talk to Mickey. But, that would be the perfect way to enhance the story of KH4, since the goal is to rescue Sora and bring him home.

Oswald could actually be seen as Mickey's Nobody. In the wii game Oswald lives in another dimension like a parallel world and is seeking a "Heart" which we later learns belongs to Mickey. He even has a wife name Ortensia, who could be Minnie's Nobody so it fits, even Yen Sid makes a cameo appearance at the end.
Note that Oswald didn't say that Yozora _didn't_ attack him.
