  • On April 10-11, 1999, there was a unique and exceptional seminar in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. George Goodheart, the founder of Applied Kinesiology, taught a two-day seminar titled “the hiSTORIES of AK” seminar.
Dr. Goodheart covered the history of Applied Kinesiology from its beginnings in 1964 and its development up through about 1980 when he was appointed to the US Olympic team medical staff and served at the Lake Placid Olympic Games.
Thanks to the kindness of JoAnn Goodheart, we have permission to post excerpts from that seminar, which we will be doing on this channel.

He's saying muscle spasms aren't a real thing? uhhhhhhh ok

What he was saying is that spasm of muscle is usually a consequence to the lack of adequate tone (activity) of the antagonist muscle (the one that opposes the spastic muscle). In other words, the muscle spasm (hyperactivity) is secondary to the muscle that tests "weak" (hypoactivity) by manual methods, and it is this "weakness" that is the primary dysfunction. This insight is what led to the various treatment approaches used by AK doctors, intended to restore appropriate muscle tone.
