don't care if it's sacrilege to say: this cover absolutely blows the OG version away. it took me a long time to admit this to myself, but i've heard this...shoot, easily 500+ times by now (seriously), & the original was my definitive childhood jam, sans TLC, i suppose. but seriously, budakhel & katrina managed to nail the emotion perfectly, all while slightly changing it up & making it sound more modern & even more catchy, imo. katrina easily rivals mariah as far as talent goes, & surpasses her in some facets, such as consistently excellent live performances, no matter what--she can impersonate numerous artists, is one of the best belters i've ever heard, & she is the queen of vocal agility (dynamite riffs&runs), & breath control. seriously, i've legit been concerned for her on occasion due to how long she'll sing without taking a breath (i think i saw her clock 42 secs most recently of high, fully supported, perfectly pitched belting)... she is well known for her one take covers of HUGE songs. in short, katrina is one of the most solid vocalists one could ever hope to hear, & she is among a very select few (her & glennis grace for me), who can do whitney houston justice.
