The concept of controlling your mouth is intriguing-do you think it’s possible that sometimes speaking harsh truths is more important than always speaking positively? Where do we draw the line?
How you speak truth is absolutely under your control and you can communicate positively and compassionately even the hardest of truths. Nowhere in this talk does he say you should minimize or misrepresent the truth.
Read the last words of Stephen in the book of Acts. His public message was loud and harsh. It had to be loud because the crowd was trying to shout him down. It had to be harsh because the people didn’t listen to the calm messages Jesus preached or respond appropriately to Jesus violence towards the money changers in the temple. The speech of Stephen made ppl so mad they killed him but the bible says that Jesus stood up to receive Stephen into heaven. You can’t always share truth with “kindness” as the world sees it. Sometimes u just have to tell the hard truth with power and anointing and this is tolerated less and less these days. Getting stoned by mad ppl may once again become the order of the day, but Jesus will stand up to welcome us home when we do this. We must be courageous. Kindness is NOT what ppl are saying it is. Its not kind to not tell the truth and sometimes that requires great passion!
Lovely and affirmative! ❤ thank you!
