The 2019 BMW 330e Sedan has a 2.0 petrol engine and an electric motor that delivers 292 hp. Topspeed is 230 km/h and 0-100 km/h is 5,9 sec.

This may not be the fastest car in the world, but it has enough power for me to be honest and i don't live in Germany, so any speed more than 80 mph (70 mph is national speed limit) is irrelevant as hardly drive it over that speed. 300 bhp and i can put it in silent EV mode when leaving the house early in the morning and i will never have to spend on petrol for commuting from home and work where there is a free charging point as well. I'm quite tempted by the M340i, but thinking about the overall much smaller ownership cost and the benefits of being a hybrid car with driving pure EV option of 330e is more favourable and it is not a slow car by no means. Pretty sure it can make additional 80 to 90hp with ECU tune and will get similar power as a stock M340i.
I'm looking at getting one of these. Thank you for showing the EV performance. Most other videos have a lot of talking, this was straight to the point. A test drive is in order once we get back to normal life.

@@echo_infinitum9265 what have you been smoking? What has interior design and aesthetics got to do with noise and speed lol. The slowest Tesla, the model 3 SR+ does 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds silently and the 330e does it in 6.1 seconds screaming to the red line. Comparing my SR+ with a relative’s 330e I can confirm this.

should have shown hybrid mode too not just sport and electric. when i test drove this car the dealer was calling me wondering where i went because i had to test all the modes and it was taking so long to do it. i tried sport first but it defeated the purpose of this particular variant of the car. then i tried electric but it was too slow. hybrid was perfect.
Is the gearbox connected to the electric motor, or does ot feel like a pure ev in the way it drives while in full ev mode?
In the technical specs it says: synchronous electric motor integrated into eight-speed Steptronic transmission, generator function for recuperating energy for the high-voltage battery. As far as I know, when you are driving in EV mode, it doesn't use the steptronic transmission. It does feel like you are driving a real EV, it just doesn't feel very powerful, because the electric motor only has a power of 113hp. Still a great car, because you get a petrol car and electric car combined into 1.
Years ago when I was playing car sims on comp, and even today when I see some new car sims, I still wonder how come they still havent worked out car sounds to sound realistic. Little did I know that one day real cars will sound like cars from games!😳

the the "autopilot" (adaptative cruise + lane keep assist). The sensors are made to track your eyes to make sure you are still looking at the road. IR lights, so only visible on camera, not in person

Zeer stil in hybride stand en zeer snel in sportstand plus een leuke sound. Gemiddeld verbruik na 3 weken 4.3l/100km.
Zeer veelzijdige auto. Net de 330e touring getest. Ook zeker een aanrader
@@JohanDeHaes nu na een maand is het verbruik gezakt naar 2.7l/100km, wel voornamelijk stadskilometers en 1 keer per week autosnelweg

Zeer stil in hybride stand en heeeeel krachtig in powerstand: zalig om mee te rijden! Mijn gemiddeld verbruik is na 3 weken 4.3l/100km

Hi there, great video! What about the 50/50 weight BMW distribution ? Is it affected because of the additional 300 kg - motor&battery
From what I remember it felt like driving a real BMW, so with the feeling of 50/50 weight distribution.
@@JohanDeHaes Thank you for this feedback. Especially your comment of “real BMW” feeling helps further. Considering its price here in Greece at 58k I am thinking of preferring it compared to 318d at 56k or 320d at 64k
@@basilem7909 i had a 318d touring in the past as a daily driver and if i would choose now, i would go for the 330e Hybrid
its closer to 48% to the front and 52% to the rear.

No, unless you drive in the sports setting. But in this case the sound is generated by the speakers und not the engine

@@damirs.7730 What a terribly fake sound! I'd try to keep the battery charged and use it as an EV whenever possible just to avoid that!

Prachtige wagen. Al heb ik een 318dA gekocht, heb ik geen enkel seconde spijt. Dit wagen is super smooth om mee te rijden, het kan zowel agressief alsook rustig zijn. "BMW nailed it"!

Too bad you didn’t show the sport display in the idrive so we could see the horse power. Also the engine sound seem fake, is that really natural?
BMW does pump in fake engine sound in this car as well as almost every other modern BMW...
And it is in Sport mode, he just didn't change the display to HP/torque

It clearly shows the km/h on the cockpit display. And it should be obvious unless you think this car can do 0-100MPH in 6 seconds

Infotaiment and dashboard: very nice. But the interior lacks comfort and quality. Plasticy and cramped.
Why is it going ar 2½ k rpms at 80 at 2:04 and around there? It is more noisy inside than a Fiat Punto from 1995.. Did Mercedes or VW pay you to make it look and sound worse than cars from the 80's?

@@andersnielsen6044 it’s something they do to try and make it seem momentarily “sporty”. When in comfort mode or eco mode it’s a hell of a lot less so not to worry.
@@maxnewts So the gearbox keeps the engine up at a certain rpm's for quick response? That is somehow okay, tho it is a bit odd. My Volvo V90 T8 does not go with that much rpm's unless I shift manual and push the pedal.. ;)

Why are you reading that? There is no point in paying the difference in value for just 0.6 S in one rush ... It is a matter of cost / benefit compared to an M3. Volvo S60 T8 is better in all aspects than a BMW 330e
