Jesus loves me. This I know. Cause the Bible tells me so, Even though I'm old and slow And my hair is white as snow. Jesus loves me though I'm old He has shown me things untold. Jesus has a place for me In His arms I'll always be And soon He's coming back for me.
Thanks for sharing. Can relate as evidenced by the following sentences delineating how we use music to deal with pain by stirring up faith. The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.
Bless all you do to share these wonderful Godly messages. This song touched my heart as a child, when we learnt it at church and our scripture class at school in the 1950. It was a Methodist and Anglician church I attended. I sing it to all the babies and little children. May God always bless your ministry.
I am now almost 91 years old I learned this song as a child in Sunday School but now it holds even more meaning and comfort thank you for what you shared
I sang this song to my older sister that died of dementia. It made her smile when I would sing it. It was one of the only church songs that I knew all the words by heart. ❤️✝️
@@peterxuereb9884 I hope you believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross and ask Jesus in to your life and by the grace of God you are born again and saved.
@lorrainewhitehead9080 I believe what the Apostles believed and what the Apostles were taught and instructed by Jesus, and what the Apostles were taught inspired and instructed, became the Catholic Church that started with the Apostles. The Doctrines Dogmas of the Catholic Church came from the Apostles and were told to them by Jesus. You can not say the same Lorraine. So whatever mumbo jumbo you decide to spin won't work because you or any other non-Catholic have no Authority as Jesus gave to the Apostles, which became the Catholic Church.
@@peterxuereb9884 where is that in the Bible? I ain't never seen none of that in a Bible. God told me in His word to believe on the finished work of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross for an atonement for my sins. And I was born again at the age of 5! 18 years of salvation and many more to go.
I am nearly 70 years old. When times get tough this little hymn still comes to me and gives me comfort. I plan to have this sung at my funeral. Yes, Jesus loves me. And you too.
@earlysda I don't think so, God can't bless error I hope he converts to the Catholic Church before he dies so that the last rites can be performed while on his death bed. But unless he converts, then there is very little hope for him and for anyone else who is in the same circumstance.
@@peterxuereb9884 peter, let's be clear about this. The Roman Catholic Church is the Great Harlot spoken of in Revelation 18. She fits all the descriptions given there. . Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. . The RCC claims to have authority above the Holy Bible. That's why it claims to have changed God's holy 7th day Sabbath to Sunday, just as prophesied in Daniel 7:25. . Please heed the angel's call in Revelation 18:4, and come out now!
@@earlysda @earlysda More despicable duplicitous protestant mumbo jumbo. Who is to say that it is referring to The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, certainly not you or, was not Judas one of the twelve Apostles,
My father had alzheimer's and died at 95 years old. He was in a wheel chair and was known for singing this song as he wheeled around. What a precious song! And so true.
In a writers group we were asked to write on what music has had the greatest impact in our lives? I wrote the verses and chorus, and of how this song touched me deep within from childhood right through life. Well, the leader was angry and ridiculed me for writing the song out, as she wanted a beautiful piece of music. I said “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so” is the most beautiful music and most the most precious words I have known and stored in my heart and it still affects my life.” I was not ashamed. I learned it in Hillsborough Baptist Church, Auckland NZ, about 3yrs old and I’m now mid 60’s, and I still love and treasure this song and Jesus. Thanks for sharing, it’s beautiful. Blessings
When I was 4 years old I was skipping in the sunshine (after Sunday school) and singing "Jesus Loves me". And I was filled with this overwhelming love. If there had been one more drop of love I would burst. I knew that was Jesus and the love of God. It was beyond what I can express. I have held onto that my whole life. It has gotten me through very very dark days. God did that for me. God is good.
I learned this song from my parents who were missionaries in Burma in the 1950’s and 60’s and where I was born. My sisters and I also learned Jesus Loves Me in Burmese. We all sang it in Burmese at our father’s funeral several years ago.
I'm sorry you feel very lonely at times, I have as well as I'm sure many others. But just remember we are not ever truly alone, Jesus has promised He will never leave us or forsake us, we can talk to Him day or night, He is always ready to listen. 😊
One of my finest memory of this song is when my sweet 3 year old sang it at the top of his lungs throughout the grocery store. A couple of people stopped and told him what a beautiful song and my dear boy preached his first sermon at that tender age. I have another verse...don't know who deserves credit... I love Jesus, does he know? Have I ever told him so? Jesus wants to hear me say that I love Him more each day.
My sister told me that she was once in such a dark place she tried to take her own life - but at that moment the words of the first verse came to her which she had sung in Sunday school and she knew it was wrong to attempt to end her life. Jesus is so faithful! It took some time, but she eventually became a follower of Jesus.
I sang this as a lullaby to all six of my children and my grandchildren as well. But I sang JESUS loves YOU to them as they fell asleep. It blessed babies and Mama as well!
I sang it to my babies as well as a lullaby after singing Rock-a-bye baby and imagining my little on falling when the bough break. Jesus Loves Me is much more comforting.
I lost my Mum to cancer last year. One day , a few days before she passed, i was sitting in her hospital room with her and she kept gazing at the corner of the room above my head and smiling the sweetest smile. I asked her - Mum what are you looking at? She smiled at me and said - Dont you see Him? He is right there! Those were her last words to me before she whispered I love you for the last time. Dont you see Him? He is right there! I know, in my heart, Jesus was there in that room with us to take her home.
I still sing it, when I am lonely or scared, I sing Jesus loves me this I know, after I wake up, in early hours of the morning, and I struggle to fall asleep again, I sing this hymn, when I used to drive to work early hours of the morning, Jesus Christ was with me every morning, until I reach my destination. Jesus really loves us all. I am so glad, I found the truth, and decided to follow Jesus our Saviour, who suffered and died for us on the cross of Calvary. Amen 🙌
I grew up singing Jesus Loves Me with my grandmother and in Sabbath School. My grandmother would play this song on the piano, and we would sing. Good memories!!
A most beloved song! I remember holding a troubled child in my arms and I started singing to him Jesus Loves Me. He was agitated and in time after softly singing this song with 2 sisters in Christ over and over again, he came over to me lovingly, Sat on my lap and hugged me. It's was the Lord that touched this precious young boy through the words of this song. Grateful...Thank you Jesus.
I sang this to all of my foster babies (13 total) whenever they were upset. It soothes them like nothing else ever did. I hope they remember it wherever they are in life. ❤❤
Sunday school. Funny I have had started singing this song the last few days. Jesus loves me. The orphan child rejected by her earthly father. Much loved daughter of her heavenly father. Thankyou my Lord. I love you also ❤
My mother's affirmation every day she wakes up. 'Jesus loves me this I know'. May it never be lost on me, that Jesus loves me. Thank You Jesus for Your lavish love. Thanks for sharing the story. Blessings.
Blessing from Namibia, i learned this song when i was small, cannot remember where, but through the years it became very prominent in our lives. I used to sing it to my children when they were small and when my daughter lost some of her fingers in a accident, i sang it to her on the way to hospital, later that day friends came to pray and God did a miracle in saving most of her fingers, years later we adopted a little boy with multiple congenital disorders, his treatments were extremely painful and i would sing this song to him through it, and he was greatly comforted by it. Even later i started teaching at a school with special need children and there were two children with hearing impairment, i learned Namibian sign language and started teaching them, as they to that day did not have their own language to communicate, i taught them Jesus love me in sign language and they loved it, later we had more deaf children and also taught them how to sign it, it is a precious song, never knew the history behind it, also only the first verse. It is such a blessing, thank you so much, may you be blessed.
Dear Sister, what you wrote was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. God bless you and the children whose lives you have touched with your love and kindness. xx
Jesus Loves Me - this song means more to me now as an adult than it did when I was a child. I have more understanding now of God's Love than I did when I was young.
Interesting how Our Father works. I was feeling quite down this morning, and left church to go for a walk. And, for the first time in many years, this song came to me, and I sang it back to God. And now, I turn TH-cam on….and guess what God dishes up to me. “Jesus Loves me This I Know…” Our Father is so amazing, and so personal. This is not a coincidence, but my Father embracing me and reminding that he and His Son, Jesus, truly loves me. Just when i badly needed to hear it. Twice.
I'm a member of the church of Christ. We still sing this song in our worship service and what is so uplifting is that the children are singing along, sometimes louder than the adults. It fills your heart with joy.
Me too..first song I learned!!! This and JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN!! My Dad, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather( I have his Bible!)were all Church of Christ preachers!!! Miss them so much!!!
I came from a rough early background but I did get to Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. heard this song and sang it in Sunday school at the age of 5. Praise God for Jesus and all he is! We adore him all who know him love him
📩Brothers and sisters, I want to inform you that now is the beginning of the last age of (which He called the Age of the Kingdom or age of word) God's salvation in this old world and His work now is to purify the person who will receive His work that in His lowered Kingdom engraved with His holy name and totality of His disposition "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD"💐 the work He accomplished today is what He prophesied in the great book of Revelation so now is the beginning to be sorted out by Him every type of humanity (the ones He can purify until his last breath is the one who succeeds so that he can enter the approaching New Heaven and New Earth after this 1,000 years extension of God's salvation from now on this old and dirty world, or those who cannot be purified will be destroyed together with this old world, or the one who will be with Satan in eternal punishment in the bottom of Hades of fire brimstone forever). 📩 So, come and enter the last age in His lowered Kingdom. THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God saves man from the destruction of this old world" Almighty God said In the LAST DAYS, GOD became MAN to DO the WORK He HAD to DO and to PERFORM His MINISTRY of the WORD. He PERSONALLY CAME to WORK in the MIDST of PEOPLE with the goal of making PERFECT PEOPLE WHO HAD the SAME ATTITUDE. 🙏 From the time of creation until now, He has only performed this kind of work in the LAST DAYS. It was only in the LAST DAYS that GOD BECAME MAN to DO such a great WORK. Although He endured hardships that men would find it hard to bear, and although He was a GREAT GOD who HUMBLED HIMSELF to become a common man, no aspect of His WORK was delayed, and His PLAN was not disrupted. even a little. He does the WORK according to His ORIGINAL PLAN. ☀️ ONE of the PURPOSES of this INCARNATION is to CONQUER PEOPLE, the OTHER is to MAKE PERFECT the PEOPLE He LOVES. He WANTS to SEE with His OWN EYES the PEOPLE He PERFECTS, and He wants to SEE for HIMSELF HOW the PEOPLE He PERFECTS TESTIFY for Him. NOT ONE or TWO PEOPLE are PERFECT. Rather, it is ONE GROUP, COMPRISED of just a FEW PEOPLE. ☀️🙏 PEOPLE in this GROUP COME from DIFFERENT COUNTRIES in the WORLD, and COME from DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES in the WORLD. The PURPOSE of DOING so much WORK is to GET this GROUP of PEOPLE, to GET the TESTIMONY of this GROUP OF PEOPLE to Him, and to ACHIEVE the GLORY He can GET from them. He does no work in vain, nor does He do any work worthless. It can be said that, in doing so many works, GOD'S PURPOSE is to make PERFECT EVERYTHING He WANTS to make PERFECT. In any free time He has outside of it, He will remove those who are evil. ☀️ You must know that He does not do this great work because of the wicked; rather, He gives His all because of the few people He will make perfect. The WORK He DOES, the WORDS He SPEAKS, the MYSTERIES He REVEALS, and His JUDGMENT and PUNISHMENT are ALL for the sane of those FEW PEOPLE. 🙏 He did NOT become a MAN because of those who were BAD, and especially they did NOT provoke Him to anger so much. He tells the TRUTH, and SPEAKS of ENTERING, because of PERFECT WORKS; He became MAN because of them, and because of them He could grant His PROMISES and BLESSINGS. ☀️ The truth, entrance, and life in humanity that He speaks of is not labored for the sake of the wicked. He WANTS to AVOID TALKING to those who are BAD, INSTEAD He WANTS to GRANT all the TRUTH to those who will be made PERFECT. But His work requires that, for the time being, He allows the WICKED to ENJOY some of His RICHES. Those who do not practice the truth, do not please God, and interfere with His work are all evil. They CANNOT BE MADE PERFECT, and GOD HATES and REJECTS them. 😪 On the other hand, PEOPLE WHO DO the TRUTH and PLEASE GOD and SPEND their WHOLE SELF in GOD'S WORK are the PEOPLE GOD WILL MAKE PERFECT. 🙏 Those whom GOD wants to make PERFECT are none other than this GROUP of PEOPLE, and the WORK GOD DOES is for the BENEFIT of these PEOPLE. The truth He speaks is for those who are WILLING to DO it. He does not speak to people who do not practice the truth. ☀️ The growth of knowledge and the growth of understanding that He says is aimed at those who can practice the truth. When He speaks of those who will be made perfect, He is speaking of these people. The WORK of the HOLY SPIRIT is FOCUSED on PEOPLE who CAN do the TRUTH. 🙏 Things like having wisdom and being human are dedicated to people who are WILLING to DO the TRUTH. Those who DO NOT PRACTICE the TRUTH may HEAR MANY WORDS of TRUTH, BUT BECAUSE they are by NATURE VERY EVIL and are NOT INTERESTED in the TRUTH, all they understand are doctrines and words and empty theories, which have not the slightest value for upon their entry into life. Not ONE of THEM is FAITHFUL to GOD; they are ALL PEOPLE WHO SEE GOD BUT CANNOT REACH Him, ALL of THEM are CURSED by GOD. 😪🙏 From "Only Those Who Commit to Practice Make Perfection" Fulfillment of "When I looked up, someone handed me a book wrapped in a scroll. I opened it and I read on both sides the prayers, lamentations, and curses." (Ezekiel 2:9-10). ... "His clothes were stained with blood. He was called the "Word of God." (Rev. 19:13) The kingdom He brought down and built in the worthy holy place in the highest in the sky and when all the humanity He created in the universe was occupied by it and it was engraved in His holy name and owned by His disposition "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD" 💐 this is the fulfillment of (Mat. 16:18) The Lord Jesus said, "And I say to you, Peter, on top of this eunuch I will build my Church, which will not prevail against him even the fear of death.". ... and fulfillment of "The Letter to the Church in Philadelphia" (Rev. 3:7-13). ... and fulfillment of "The New Jerusalem"💫 "The Spirit covered me, and the angel led me to the top of a very high mountain. He showed me Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming down from heaven from God." (Rev. 21:10). ... "For the time has come in the matter of God for the beginning of judgment in the house of God." (1 Peter 4:17) 📩 God's sheep are called and led to His glorious Throne in "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD" 💐 to submit again to His authority so that He can continue to teach us, guide us and protect us even in plagues, disasters, famines and wild animals It will not move us, and to completely win the war with the big red dragon in this final battle!. ... The fulfillment of "They say with a loud voice, "Salvation comes from the Lamb, and from our God who sits on the Throne!" (Rev. 7:10). ... Fulfillment that it will be built in the highest of the sky that in our Millennial generation that is TH-cam in (Isaiah 2:2 / 9:6) "In the last day, the mountain on which Jehovah's temple stands will stand out above all the mountains. The rule will be given to him; and he shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." 📨✉️
I'm 73 years old. I've been singing this precious song since I was 4 years old in the First Baptist Church. I used to sing this to my son when he was so small. He's 50 years old now.
When I was 7-10 I spent a lot of time with my Aunt Cynthia, 3 of her seven children were in my age range. That is one of the many songs I learned from them. We would sing christian songs as we swang or the swing set. My husband and I got saved and became born again Christians in the fall of 1972, in 1983-84 we were doing S.S. bus ministry on a Nazarene church on Hebron, Ohio. A young man we picked up every Sunday a.m., one young boy, 8-9, Webb was his last name. Told me he made up these words to go with the song, " Jesus loves me when I'm good and do the things I should, Jesus loves me when I'm bad, but it makes Him very sad." Since then I have taught it to a lot of children over the years!! I hope this isn't to long and blesses someone. I am now 78, I know Jesus loves me and I love and serve Him.Thornville, Ohio thanks for sharing.12:49

WE ARE AT THE DOORS!!!
This was the first solo performance my lil daughter gave. She was so tiny, the mike (on the stand) had to be bent so low it literally hit the floor. So that no sooner had she sung out the first line 'Jesus loves me this I know', than the mike would collapse, stand and all. Someone would rush to the stage and re-set the mike on its stand only to have the same thing repeat all over again. This went on for a few more times until my daughter decided she'd had enough and let out a big bawl instead....!
Yesterday I used this hymn with a severe alcoholic couple. They remembered the hymn from 60 years ago. I gave them hope, I was literally doing Hebrews 10:24-25. I try to live by this. I used the analogy that God is reaching down and taking them by the hand and pulling them out of the flames of hell, and that they can overcome this sin through Jesus Christ . Phillippians 4:19. Please pray that they make the decisions that they can only make . Nobody can ride the shirt tail of anyone else into Heaven !
But unless they do what Jesus has asked everyone to do, which is in John ch 6. then nobody is saved, and no amount of jumping up and down will help. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate manna in the desert and they are dead; 50 but this is the bread which comes down from heaven, so that a person may eat it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which has come down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world.' 52 Then the Jews started arguing among themselves, 'How can this man give us his flesh to eat?' 53 Jesus replied to them: In all truth I tell you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life, and I shall raise that person up on the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in that person. 57 As the living Father sent me and I draw life from the Father, whoever eats me will also draw life from me. 58 This is the bread which has come down from heaven; it is not like the bread our ancestors ate: they are dead, but anyone who eats this bread will live for ever. 59 This is what he taught at Capernaum in the synagogue. 60 After hearing it, many of his followers said, 'This is intolerable language. How could anyone accept it?' 61 Jesus was aware that his followers were complaining about it and said, 'Does this disturb you? 62 What if you should see the Son of man ascend to where he was before? 63 'It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh has nothing to offer. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. 64 'But there are some of you who do not believe.' For Jesus knew from the outset who did not believe and who was to betray him. 65 He went on, 'This is why I told you that no one could come to me except by the gift of the Father.' 66 After this, many of his disciples went away and accompanied him no more.
I will pray for them. I had a family member I loved very much that was an alcoholic and a I prayed for her for 30 years. She was finally free from alcohol about a year before she died and gave up cigarettes too. Please tell them not to give up, Jesus wants them free from their addiction and cares about their health and salvation. 😊
Another uplifting scripture you can share with them is Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
@@peterxuereb9884l used to think those verses were wonderful until l learned the disturbing truth of what they really meant. The bible is not what we've been taught...
as a 71 year old "child" of God I sing this when I lead worship to remind us how we are children of God and how much He loves us as His children. Simple. True. Awesome. Thank you for the sharing
6:02 My Son was very ill this month (July 2023), and we live far from our family (overseas)... but I am thankful for our new Church community that God has brought us to. They stood in prayer, and pleaded with Jesus to heal our Son. Today (Mid-August) he is much stronger and well again, he even took his first steps this weekend! Jesus loves us-loves us still, though we're very weak and ill; From his shining throne on high, Comes to watch us where we lie. ❤❤❤❤❤ His grace is sufficient. Edit: (I originally wrote this as my own reply, but thought it may encouraging someone as a testimony between the other comments).
Thank God for the song..my mother sang for me in the 50s. I sang it in Sunday school, taught it to my Sunday school students in the Anglican Church and Presbyterian Church. I sang for my children, who in turn sang for their children. I have sung it for my granddaughters. Right now, I'm singing it for my 9month-old grandson. It calms him down. I'm from Nairobi, Kenya.
My dad was a preacher so I grew up singing this song at Versailles IN Church of Christ. Years later I learned how to sign this song at Cincinnati Bible College in 1983. ❤️
I remember singing it in Sabbath school. In a small Seventh Day Adventist Church in Washington State. I think it the first song I could play on the piano ago. It’s so moving for me💕
I was brought Catholic ( and am still catholic) however my grandma was Methodist. She gathered her 5 little grandchildren around her piano and sang and taught us this. We were so young I don’t remember not knowing it. It is one of my most cherished memories.
1985 while at church in Bathurst/NSw this song was the only one i knew, had sung with other and my own children...yet when i sang ,yes Jesus loves me...for the Bible tells me so - at that moment it was light all around me and in awe i whisperd, O, HE MEANS me. That moment He assured me of being saved. Dagmar
I really enjoyed the history behind that precious hymn that has been my favorite hymn ever since I was a child I still love it I kearney that song at brookside Baptist church that song means to me that he loves little Bonnie so much he gave his life just for Me
I grew up in Belfast and remember beint taught this song at a Salvation Army Sunday School back in 1961/2. I still can see those church leaders leading us in choruses. But I remember another verse being sung, too... Jesus loves the Indian boy. Bow and arrow for his toy. And he loves the cowboy too. With his horses and lasso. Thank you.
My mother sang it for me in 1950s. I sang it for my own children. They sang for my grandchildren and I still sing it for my grandchildren... Jesus bids us shine as well...
Many elderly were converted and comforted in my ministry of the Gospel in singing this hymn. The hardest hearts were broken down to accept the Lord Jesus Christ..
I sing Jesus Loves me when I’m having a MRI or having a procedure where I know I’m going to be uncomfortable.I even remember saying, under anesthesia, and He loves you too! When my mom was in the hospital with cancer, she had to have blood drawn, we started singing Jesus Loves Me . I stopped after the first verse but she kept on singing. I never knew there where more verses. We sang it at her funeral and now I know all verses.
I have always known this song. Now at age 79, often when I can't sleep I will sing it in my mind. I taught my Grandchildren this song. Bless the Lord Oh my soul. Amen
I remember in the 1950 we sung the song in Sunday school I teach the song to my children 1n the 1970 and my grandchildren in th 1999 it's such a beautifull song thank you Pastor Luke
7/9/23 at 9:30 pm. The first time I listened to your video on “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”. I appreciate the time you took to make that video. It’s such a blessing. I’m now listening to “Jesus Loves Me”. God Bless You Brother
I can remember singing this at our School assemblies in Primary school! 1950 plus!!. It always made me want to cry ...the knowledge that Jesus loved me. Growing up in a non believers home ... it always made me yearn to know more!!❤
I am 61 years old and I sing this sometimes when I’m praying. Through some dark times in my life, this simple song can bring light to dispel the fear and lead me out of darkness. What a blessing this channel has brought to me.
I don't think I ever heard this song as a child, but now much later in life and going through a time of trial I have listened to it and it so beautifully simple and true. It is because of its beautiful simplicity that reminds me that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.
I was raised in the Missionary Baptist Church We sang this song When my children were in Sunday school they were taught to sign Jesus Loves Me I didn't know there were four verses I had only heard three Thank you for this video!! 🥰
The Missionary Baptist Church is near to my heart.❤ As the mother of 4 biracial children, I often felt unwanted or unwelcome at several churches I had visited. At one church, there was a woman who just couldn't keep her eyes off of us. She must've had quite the sore neck after church, because she was right up front in the first few rows, and we were at the very back, in the last row!😂 She spent most of the sermon with her eyes locked on us. Needless to say, we didn't go back. But when I visited St. Matthew's Missionary Baptist Church on 30th & Jackson in Seattle, I found a home. I moved from the city, but my time there was special. Props to Minister Anderson & Minister Pierce.
I learned this from Auntie Zena Allen at Saint Augustine’s Sunday School, Bethlehem, OFS, about 50 years ago. The best Sunday School teacher ever! 🎶♥️👏✝️ What a blessing.
I'm 70 years old now and I learned this beautiful song as a little child at Sunday School at the First Bible Baptist Church in Wakarusa Indiana. It still brings tears of joy when I hear it
Yes JESUS loves me I am 75 years now, bright up and served Sunday Schools in India,am from St . Bartholomew Church CSI , Mysore, Karnataka India, now residing in Bengaluru after our 15 years in the U S .Thank you . Rebecca M.🙏
So much truth and yet so simple. I learned this a child in Cleveland at a Methodist church. I read about a prison missionary who had his "church" sing this. He said every single person sang at. It's a shame and heartbreaking churches don't sing this wonderful hymn.
I remember this little hymn from the 1970s, and being with my grandad at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton Hampshire. UK, Grandad would sit on the bench after church with me and nanny and he would sing this at the top of his voice only to be told off by Nan for making a show off, but he persisted. One day nanny got up and March stuff down the road embarrassed as antics but grandad didn’t care. Go and tell her to come back love he would say so we’d run after Nanny and say grandad said he wouldn’t do it again, and just as a bottom touched the bench. He would start with all things bright and beautiful at the top of his voice. As he promised he didn’t sing the first him again. I know nanny thought this was great really, but if she hadn’t made a stand he would’ve got worse. He loved his God. He loved Jesus and he loved everybody. Thank you Luke Powell for this very special him today. I have followed you from a different profile on another phoneand I am glad to have found you again. I love your videos. Thank you so much
The soul of a child is the loveliest flower that grows in the garden of God. There's no greater Joy than knowing your children walk in Truth. God loves people more than anything.😊
I am 70 years old and I have loved this song for years. I've been a Christian for 52 years and I sing this song to every stray animal I rescue or feed or passes through my life... Beautiful, truthful song ❣️ I of course have sung this song to myself for years also...
As a retired missionary from China, Jesus Loves Me has a profound effect on me. The Chinese church has experienced much suffering and many Chinese children died young during the first 100 years after the writing of this song. It continues to be a simple, clear answer to suffering Chinese Christians to this day.
To all older Christians reading this: your time is NOT over, your work is not done….while you have breath open your hearts and minds anew, open the scriptures, be nourished, and pray for the kingdom, for your loved ones and for your neighbours. God inhabits the believing trusting heart, age is not the issue or a barrier or a disqualification…you who have remained faithful come to him again, his mercies are new every morning….you are valued and sorely needed. Ask The Holy Spirit in to revive you…lead you, strengthen your inner man and woman and shine through you if only with a smile to bless others and push back the darkness. Jesus loves you…this YOU know….it’s Him, it’s His finished work that we trust in…not ourselves….let all us older folk praise God show the children the way and raise one last hallelujah.
Out in Africa lies an old Seventh-day Adventist mission place called Matandani in Malawi. There I learned this song as a kid in Sabbath school. At 65 years, I still love this song as a child of God and take comfort of God's assurance.
This song means more to me now than it ever did when when I was little. I was abused as a child and felt like no one loved me. This song reminds me of how much my Savior loves me.
Thankyou. My elderly Aunt took us 6 kids for Sunday school, while my parents had a Sunday after lunch nap. This hymn, plus All things Bright and Beautifull and On a Green Hill Far Far Away, were the three hymns that she plonked on an out of tune piano. Thereafter, she read us a moralistic children's story.
I once listen to special speaker at my church. He went through some truly horrific things in his childhood. He said what kept him going was a memory of his Sunday School teacher singing this song to him when he was very small. He said it’s why so many years later, he recommitted his life to Jesus. If you ever think your job as a Sunday School teacher isn’t important, it is.
I sang this song to my three children when I would rock them when they were babies and continued the tradition with my grandchildren. Not only calmed them but gave me peace as I was rocking those sweet babies.
This is a beautiful song that renews our spirit and our hearts when the enemy tries to put us down....my Savior my Lord MY REDEEMER MY EVERYTHING PLEASE FILL US EITH YOUR GOOD FRUITS OF YOUR SPIRIT SO WE ABIDE TO ETERNALLY...AMEN
My father died when I was just 12 years old. I am now approaching 70 and I have never forgotten my dad tucking me into bed at night and singing this song to me. Precious memories live forever
Thank you for sharing this 'ever new' song which is the very backbone of Christianity. This is the Gospel and whether people are just saved, old or little toddlers, God speaks through it. I have sung these truths for nearly 60yrs and just yesterday I sang "Turn your eyes upon Jesus" during my physical pain; Jesus is real and He died to save us, whom He created. If there is someone out there who is lonely, lost or physically suffering, I urge you to talk to our Lord and Saviour about it. He is waiting for you to "call upon and He will answer you" ! There are so many comments by people over 60yrs and I really think parents and grandparents, like me, should share these Gospel songs to toddlers while we still have breath in our lungs.
I am weak but He is strong. I have had fibromyalgia for 15 years and I struggled with pain, fatigue, brain fog and depression and after I rededicated my heart and life back to Jesus in 2014, I have noticed through the years that it is not as bad as it used to be and I believe it’s because He is My strength when I am weak. Through Christ all things are possible for me and I know, and claim that I am already healed, even though it has not been made manifest yet
When I was a child I tried to sing this song in church at Beulah Baptist Church Pembroke Ga. I was about five and was so nervous, I could not sing it. I am now a missionary and have sung and preached in many different places in the USA and Mexico. It goes to show you that even though as a child we are weak or nervous as a child, that God can use you with his hand on you.
This song has had such a profound effect on my life. Such a simple, but full of doctrine and truth is sung in this precious song. I cannot fully understand His great love for me and for His glory. "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:14-19)
To this day, I still sing this song. Jesus, love me this, I know... whenever I am in a crisis, lonely, sad, emotionally drained. Every time I need to fly, it is the only song I sang in my head. I'm 60 years old, and this song always gives me the insurance that Jesus will never let go of me. Amen, South Africa 🇿🇦
Jesus loves me. This I know.
Cause the Bible tells me so,
Even though I'm old and slow
And my hair is white as snow.
Jesus loves me though I'm old
He has shown me things untold.
Jesus has a place for me
In His arms I'll always be
And soon He's coming back for me.
This song brought me to tears. Sang it as a child in The Salvation Army. Now at 69 I still know Jesus loves me.
I am 61 and I still sing it now when times feel hard. It reminds me I am not alone! Praising God!!!
I'm older than you and still do the same thing!
Me too! I'm 61 and do the exact same thing. Thank you for sharing that. I'm not alone...🙏🙏🙏💝
@@lisaeverett9819 it's comforting to know we all are on the same journey. We will make it 💪. God's strength not mine 🙏
@@rebanelson607 isn't our Lord Jesus awesome!
I talked to a hospice preacher once who said even his patients who had memory problems could remember this song.
That's the power of the Gospel contained in this wonderful song.
Praise God!
Had same experience in my family❤
Bless all you do to share these wonderful Godly messages. This song touched my heart as a child, when we learnt it at church and our scripture class at school in the 1950. It was a Methodist and Anglician church I attended. I sing it to all the babies and little children. May God always bless your ministry.
P
I am now almost 91 years old I learned this song as a child in Sunday School but now it holds even more meaning and comfort thank you for what you shared
I sang this song to my older sister that died of dementia. It made her smile when I would sing it. It was one of the only church songs that I knew all the words by heart. ❤️✝️
Thank you for doing that, may God bless you for it!
Was she Catholic? Did she receive the last rites? I hope so.
Who will perform the last rites, because only a Catholic priest has that Authority as only a Catholic priest has Authority to perform all the others.
God bless you john.
Who is to say that it is referring to The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, certainly not you or, was not Judas one of the twelve Apostles,
Takes me back 70 years to a small rural church where I first learned of God's love.
I sang this song when rocking babies to sleep.
My dad sang this song during the week before he died, was my parents favorite song. They died 6 days apart and we sang this song at their funerals
I said “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so” is the most beautiful music and most the most precious words I have known and stored in my heart and it still affects my life.”
I was not ashamed.
I remember singing this song as a child....and now I am 77 and when I feel very lonely I sing this song.
❤️
🤗🙏
I love what you said, Maxie.
I'm sorry you feel very lonely at times, I have as well as I'm sure many others. But just remember we are not ever truly alone, Jesus has promised He will never leave us or forsake us, we can talk to Him day or night, He is always ready to listen. 😊

Amen.
Jesus wants to hear me say
that I love Him more each day.
Amen. Indeed it does bless babies and mommies too.
We sang it as children at home but also in the old Seventh Day Adventist Church at College View, Lincoln, Nebraska.
I did this too! And to my grandchildren now
❤
I teach at a small private preschool. “Jesus Loves Me” is the first song I teach my 3 year olds.
Aged 70 and learnt this at Sunday school. Every now and then I catch myself singing this song when happy or sad. Love it still. Amen
Blessings.
Jesus became my savior very simple but profound!
Praise the Lord how He uses you with this song.🙌
That is wonderful❤
Twice.
Our God is so kind! I'm glad you shared how he gave you this song twice ❤
Amen 😊

THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God saves man from the destruction of this old world"
Almighty God said
In the LAST DAYS, GOD became MAN to DO the WORK He HAD to DO and to PERFORM His MINISTRY of the WORD. He PERSONALLY CAME to WORK in the MIDST of PEOPLE with the goal of making PERFECT PEOPLE WHO HAD the SAME ATTITUDE. 🙏
From the time of creation until now, He has only performed this kind of work in the LAST DAYS. ☀️
ONE of the PURPOSES of this INCARNATION is to CONQUER PEOPLE, the OTHER is to MAKE PERFECT the PEOPLE He LOVES. ☀️🙏
PEOPLE in this GROUP COME from DIFFERENT COUNTRIES in the WORLD, and COME from DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES in the WORLD. ☀️
You must know that He does not do this great work because of the wicked; rather, He gives His all because of the few people He will make perfect. The WORK He DOES, the WORDS He SPEAKS, the MYSTERIES He REVEALS, and His JUDGMENT and PUNISHMENT are ALL for the sane of those FEW PEOPLE. 🙏
He did NOT become a MAN because of those who were BAD, and especially they did NOT provoke Him to anger so much. He tells the TRUTH, and SPEAKS of ENTERING, because of PERFECT WORKS; He became MAN because of them, and because of them He could grant His PROMISES and BLESSINGS. ☀️
The truth, entrance, and life in humanity that He speaks of is not labored for the sake of the wicked.
On the other hand, PEOPLE WHO DO the TRUTH and PLEASE GOD and SPEND their WHOLE SELF in GOD'S WORK are the PEOPLE GOD WILL MAKE PERFECT. 🙏
Those whom GOD wants to make PERFECT are none other than this GROUP of PEOPLE, and the WORK GOD DOES is for the BENEFIT of these PEOPLE. The truth He speaks is for those who are WILLING to DO it. He does not speak to people who do not practice the truth. ☀️
The growth of knowledge and the growth of understanding that He says is aimed at those who can practice the truth. When He speaks of those who will be made perfect, He is speaking of these people.
The WORK of the HOLY SPIRIT is FOCUSED on PEOPLE who CAN do the TRUTH. 🙏
Things like having wisdom and being human are dedicated to people who are WILLING to DO the TRUTH. 😪🙏

I'm 73 years old. I've been singing this precious song since I was 4 years old in the First Baptist Church. I used to sing this to my son when he was so small. He's 50 years old now.
Oh, for the innocence of an uncomplicated child like faith. May I always be at the positional stance at the feet of Jesus, my Lord, and Saviour ♡

Amen! Thank you beloved.
In Jesus name by the shed blood of Lord Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
49 Your fathers ate manna in the desert and they are dead;
50 but this is the bread which comes down from heaven, so that a person may eat it and not die.
51 I am the living bread which has come down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world.'
52 Then the Jews started arguing among themselves, 'How can this man give us his flesh to eat?'
53 Jesus replied to them: In all truth I tell you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
How could anyone accept it?'
61 Jesus was aware that his followers were complaining about it and said, 'Does this disturb you?
62 What if you should see the Son of man ascend to where he was before?
63 'It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh has nothing to offer. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
64 'But there are some of you who do not believe.' For Jesus knew from the outset who did not believe and who was to betray him.
65 He went on, 'This is why I told you that no one could come to me except by the gift of the Father.'
66 After this, many of his disciples went away and accompanied him no more.
Another uplifting scripture you can share with them is Isaiah 41:10
"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
@@peterxuereb9884l used to think those verses were wonderful until l learned the disturbing truth of what they really meant. The bible is not what we've been taught...
@kerryparker4873 So, what do they mean now that they did not mean before???
as a 71 year old "child" of God I sing this when I lead worship to remind us how we are children of God and how much He loves us as His children. Simple. True. Awesome. Thank you for the sharing
We are living in a scary world. Children and adults need to hear this song and understand the Truth. Excellent video!!

My Son was very ill this month (July 2023), and we live far from our family (overseas)... but I am thankful for our new Church community that God has brought us to. They stood in prayer, and pleaded with Jesus to heal our Son. Today (Mid-August) he is much stronger and well again, he even took his first steps this weekend!
Jesus loves us-loves us still, though we're very weak and ill;
From his shining throne on high,
Comes to watch us where we lie.
❤❤❤❤❤
His grace is sufficient.
Edit: (I originally wrote this as my own reply, but thought it may encouraging someone as a testimony between the other comments).
I sung this song at the Methodist Sunday school at almost 91 I have taught this song to my greatgrand children and love it
We sang this at my mum’s funeral. It was her request. I think of her every time I hear it and find it hard to sing since we sang it that day ♥️
Thank God for the song..my mother sang for me in the 50s.
I was very fortunate, not brought up as a Christian, I sang the song at school. I loved it. It is a most comforting song.

Thank you.
Excellent!
How cute! Thanks for sharing this "extra" verse! 🤗🦋
i m 77 years n i learned this song at 5? beautiful, comforting song. Taught to all my children.
Jesus Loves me!!
May i never forget.
Love this hymn. It's only starting to have such meaning to me now as I grow older
I first learned this song as a child in church. It has a very special meaning to me. To know Jesus love me before I was formed in my mother's womb.❤
Growing up in a non believers home ... it always made me yearn to know more!!❤
Powerful! Thanks for sharing
First song I learned at age 3. Has got me through the trials of life. Jesus DOES…. 🎶 and THIS I KNOW 👍❤️
Where are the subtitles?
@@christophernewman4658 do you need them? Self explanatory 😉
I was raised in the Missionary Baptist Church We sang this song When my children were in Sunday school they were taught to sign Jesus Loves Me I didn't know there were four verses I had only heard three
Thank you for this video!!
Early '60-s St. Peters Anglican in West Coast Canada. I still have this hymn in my mind and also, "His Power Over Me Is Love."
Rebecca M.🙏
actually I forgot this song but the Lord Jesus reminded me of this when I was going through alot of pain it really uplifted me
Thank You Jesus
Thank you so much
This song saved me when I was little, Jesus has shown me this saved me when I was little. ❤
The soul of a child is the loveliest flower that grows in the garden of God.
There's no greater Joy than knowing your children walk in Truth.
God loves people more than anything.😊
I am 70 years old and I
have loved this song for years.
I also from China
Greetings from Ghana. This song is an all time classic. Always calms me down and reminds me that I am loved.❤
Your voice calms the storms for me.
Shalom. This song was taught to me in Sunday School The Immanuel Baptist Church in 1962 in Rangoon.Burma-now Myanmar.
Out in Africa lies an old Seventh-day Adventist mission place called Matandani in Malawi. There I learned this song as a kid in Sabbath school. At 65 years, I still love this song as a child of God and take comfort of God's assurance.
Amen! 😊
Thank you for putting this video out there! I'm 68 years old, but I take comfort from knowing I'm a child of God
I feel as if I always sang Jesus Loves Me. I can’t remember hearing it for the first time. I was born in 1940 and still sing it.
I am 59 years old. I still sing it, it is one of my favorite songs. I think it is one of the most profound songs.
I taught this song to my Scottish granddaughter and I pray that it will resonate in her heart when she's grown up...
This song means more to me now than it ever did when when I was little. I was abused as a child and felt like no one loved me. This song reminds me of how much my Savior loves me.
Absolutely He does 😊
Beautiful song Jesus loves me this I know..❤
In my lowest point in my life I sang this song with tears streaming down my cheeks. And just how much it helped me.
My daughter was quaduplegic and as her brain dteteriated she wanted to hear this often😊
😊
😊😊
I am glad you have fond memories of her. God bless you.
God bless you richly, we will all be reunited again one day, what a wonderful hope ❤
Jesus bless her and make her with the strongest longest prettiest legs in Heaven :)
Thank you for this information for a much loved hymn of our Christian faith…as a southern Baptist we sing this to our babies and beyond. Be blessed💞
I grew up in South Africa and we use to sing this song in Sunday school beautiful song

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God."
(Ephesians 3:14-19)
Precious words of a precious truth, Jesus Loves us so much!♥♥🙏🙏Thank you Lord for loving us, and for your precious Salvation.
