    Rookie mistake, always cook the ingredients in order from longest cook time to shortest. Meats first. Toast/bread/pancakes etc second, then eggs last in the fatty oil of the meat grease.

    That style of electric griddle has one side that cooler than the other so you cook food on the really hot side and keep already cooked stuff warm.

    • @secretninja247
      @secretninja247 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was wondering that. As it doesn’t have a temp dial you might want one side warm and one hot so if you have food that cooks at various times it all finishes at the same time.

    • @guymee
      @guymee 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It’s not actually one side warm and one not
      The element is just two coiled resistive wires across the length of the griddle
      So it’s more like cold near you, then hot, then cold in the center, then hot as you get further back, then cold again

    I have one, and I actually love it. I even prefer warming things up in that little oven rather than the microwave. The coffee pot is perfect for me, because I usually have only one or two cups in a morning. I don't use the griddle much, because I don't do eggs, and I do the bacon in the toaster oven (when not doing it in cast iron).
    Also, on grilled cheese, I always press my sandwich down, so I was ok with the lid squashing the sandwich.
    I will also say that I like my nostalgia better for heating up pizza slices than my air fryer. The air fryer does take longer, and at least when reheating slices, the nostalgia throughly heats in less time. (I am trying to move away from the microwave for a lot of my reheating.)
    While the nostalgia isn't perfect, I have been really happy with it, for my needs.

    I went on a desert deployment recently and I was night shift the entire time. I ate 2 to 4 fried egg sandwiches every day for nearly 3 months. We went to work at 11pm and got off at 11am. The egg grill was open at midnight and morning chow, but actual midnight chow was just leftover dinner chow. Fried egg sandwiches were waay better than leftovers. The condiment availability varied, but what I found is that thousand island dressing on a fried egg sandwich is pretty amazing.

    I used to have this same item when JC Penney manufactured it under the Cook’s brand. I used it for 4-5 years until the labeling wore off. I then discarded it because no one could remember how to work it without being able to see the wording around the dials. It is more useful as a toaster oven. The coffee maker leaks grounds. The griddle does does not work very well because it would get so full of grease while cooking and there was no easy way to pour it off. So I replaced this with a toaster oven and I’m happier with that.

    Originally these well marketed to bachelors. After that I believe it was University students. it was a good idea my mother's family had one when she was quite young and everybody remembers it fondly or remembered it fondly because they are all passed away now.

    Love your channel man, funny thing to me is all these cooking devices just don’t stand up to a conventional stove and oven. I even have an old school camping coffee stove top kettle that makes better coffee than my k-cup machine. I think I enjoy buying accessories for my stove and oven more than this as seen on tv junk. However your reviews are super entertaining to watch. I don’t have to buy the stuff to see the results. Keep it up

    The bit with the fumbling about trying to get the toast out was just hilarious, bloody silicone oven glove then a plastic spatula, lmfao, how about just quickly put the fingers of your right hand in with the palm down, touch the top of the toast with your fingers, and slide it out onto a plate??? Also the egg cracking tool was pretty funny, never saw one of those before.

    That thing is a hot mess.
    The griddle needs to be level so you dont get food running everywhere. It needs to be smooth for the vast majority of cooking - grill marks are cute but not needed.
    There needs to be temperature settings so it isn't a total unitasker. It would be fantastic in an RV or anywhere you have power but nit access to a really good kitchen, if it wasn't so limited.
    I'm disappointed. It's adorable, and I would love to have something like that in my kitchen.

      And debunk the Zerowater. Drinking deionized water has been shown to be bad for you. See the World Health Organization study about that. Further, conductivity doesn't tell you anything about the contaminants you really should be concerned about. Having the usual dissolved minerals in your drinking water is actually desirable. It's just a sales gimmick, and a somewhat dangerous one. Someone needs to call them out on it.

    It’s ok for my RV use...
    For the eggs I use a 4 1/2” fry pan on top..
    Prewarm the skillet before you put the eggs in to fry.. The tray is made to drip the grease for hamburger or chicken. Instead of oil try a spray of Pam (thoroughly)

    The only thing I can say it you should have done the meats first ALWAYS then when that's 3/4 of the way done then your eggs and as that finishes do your toast. You can do your coffee whenever you want. But this way everything should be timed so it's all ready at once. Good luck!! And great channel!!!!

    what do I put on an Egg Sandwich?
    My ideal egg sandwich is cooked to the point where the white has set, and the yolk is starting to thicken but still liquid. Not runny, but molten. I keep the yolk in tact till it goes onto the toast, then I break the yolk with a knife and spread it out onto the rest of the sandwich. I crack in some fresh black pepper and some salt, then either a splash of ketchup or hot sauce. Mostly for the acidity and freshness. The richness of the buttered toast and the fatty yolk goes well with the sharpness of hot sauce.

    this product would be easily fixed by using an induction coil on the griddle portion, as well as making some of the griddle flat for eggs and making the lid taller (and not having it sit in the gutter of the grill)

    First hint: looks like your counter isn’t level just going by the spread of the eggs.
    Second: meat is always cooked first, then the toast and eggs.
    Third: the channel is to gravity drain some oils for making the food not to swim or overly absorb the excess oil.
    Fourth: would think the 'cooler' side would be more along the lines to kerp the faster cooked food warm while other foods cook.

    The reason there are 'cold spots' is that you cook your meat first on the hottest part, obviously the furthest away from the coffee maker. Then you move it to your 'cold spot' where it's still kept warm while you cook your other stuff.

    The griddle should have been a few gauges thicker and possibly made of cast iron for better heat retention and dispersion. Should have been flat too for more even cooking.

    Okee dokee. The "trough" around the edge is your grease catcher; that way you actually fry your bacon and not boil it in its' own grease. The egg (atleast in my own opinion) is always supposed to be flipped (I dig my eggs over medium); If you cut down on 1 half strip of bacon, the egg should be no problem. So I'll call it partial operator error.
    Easy fix: exchange places will the bacon and eggs, and start the bacon first. As the bacon is about to get flipped, add the toast. That way as the toast is coming out, the bacon is going on, and then, just to keep that lovely bacon-ey flavor going, throw your egg on where the bacon was. And for me, there is NEVER a wrong time for coffee; I'd just double the size of the coffee pot.
