it had to be cut because it was a standalone bit that didn't add to the film and could easily be cut if the overall film time got too long. Richard Curtis didn't really want to cut it but unfortunately he had to. but at least the fans of the movie still got to watch all the deleted bits and scenes feom the dvd extras 😎
ThomasWinn1 Every time i see it i want to travel back in time to that era. What days. Also Rhys Ifans was top notch the way he entered in the film was amazing. you're right,a very underated film.
"Radio What The Fuck?" Such a genius line. Such a damn shame we will never hear of Philip's genius ever again. Glad that we have the movies to remind us of it.
- what do pirates do? - play records? - NO! actual pirates! - play actual records? - and what's radio sunshine doing? - PLAYING RECORDS! LOLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOL
this had some of the greatest casting i have ever seen. I love the Count and all the rest. Just a great film i am so sad that Mr Hoffmen is gone and that i can never thank him for working in this film.
When the 20th anniversary comes for this spectacular film, this scene NEEDS to be back in the film. The whole film is VASTLY underrated. Great cast, great soundtrack, great dialogue. . .the whole movie is amazing.
It is! I remember when IMDB still had the comment section a bunch of boomers complaine about that movie not being "accurate" enough for their taste... 🙄🙄
And yet it ‘failed’ commercially. You know there are some great movies that lost awards to forgotten ones. Sometimes art isn’t mainstream, but it doesn’t make it less artistic to those that like it.
I wish I lived back then...I know I'm romanticizing the past, but I just think it would have been awesome to be alive with all that new, beautiful music coming out.
They should release a cut of The Boat That Rocked (Or Pirate Radio depending on where they live) where the deleted scenes are inserted back into the movie.
This is what I’ve been looking for, for about 10 years. I saw the boat used for Radio Sunshine before I first saw this film, but after it came out. I knew it was used for the film, but wondered why it didn’t appear
“Radio whatthefuck?” If this scene was gonna be cut, I sure wish they would’ve found somewhere in the movie to fit that line! He delivers it so perfectly!
That scene is funny, but I find it rather a standalone skit than part of the actual film. The characters already have a lot to deal with on their own, and the real problems are with the state of England. It's a closed narrative that doesn't fit the film, so I get why it hasn't made the final cut: breaking the momentum.
I love this film..it brought so much love and interest to my life. The interaction between the characters is perfect and even these deleted scenes is pure gold. GAH
Bhahahaha. Funny how they all think they're sneaking behind Quentin's back, when Quentin deliberately put Hermans Hermits in there to piss off the count n get shit goin...
"You've been fucking my wife" "It was just once! It was an April Fools jokes." Jesus! Don't hang around James Corden around April 1st. His pranks are fucking savage! lol
Love this movie. They should have added this in the film. Maybe someday they'll put it back and sell it as Director's cut. While they're at it, I'm sure there are additional scenes which could be added. I'd buy it.
An excellent scene! Right, it does not fit well in an overall montage, but as a bonus material it is great! Thanks for sharing. I've enjoyed. Especially the moment, when they've noticed Quentin on their way.
I like how the movie consists out of several small story arks that are clearly seperated from one another like an tv series and watching this cut out Radio Sunshine ark feels like watching an lost episode.
Hilarious scene! Just like the 'Meaning of Life' this should have been in the movie!!! Rhys Ifans, Bill Nighy and Philip Seymour Hoffman were made for this movie! No one better could have played them! Thanx for post!
An amazing movie, an amazing scene, and at 3:42 to 4:22, a wonderful music which I don't find the the title, and it gets on my nerves... Just perfect =P I miss old rock...
There was a real life pirate station called Radio Sunshine but it was on the air in the 80's off the Irish coast somewhere. This movie's Radio Sunshine seems like it may have been inspired by "Swinging" Radio England/Britain Radio. They hired a number of American DJs. They started broadcasting in 1966, a couple years after the other big stations Like Radio Caroline and Radio London. (I'm pretty sure Radio Rock in the film are based off a combination of those two) They broadcast 24 hours a day. They never dissed The Beatles. Radio England played more rock and pop including Herman's Hermits. Britain Radio would play more easy tempo adult contemporary stuff like Herb Alpert and Bert Bacharach. Same pirate ship.
LOL, i made a pirate radio on a roleplay server on SA:MP and i didnt know it was a deleted scene from The Boat That Rocked which is my favorite movie :D
"don't you get depressed when the f-word has to be in every single sentence?"
"i'm right here"
"oh fuck, sorry"
BEST. LINE. EVER
no its not the best line ever. You really have to have a low IQ to find fuck a funny word.
"Who needs the Beatles when you have Hermans Hermits" gave me the same reaction as Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Me too...
Same. Expect nowadays the cursed sentence is: "Who needs the Beatles when you have Justin Bieber."
@@zerpumpkins9790 I'm not a Justin bieber beatles rock on grove.
I almost died laughing 😆 hilarious
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! haha
Why this wasn't in the movie is beyond me. I love this.
It wouldn't have made sense. As Quentin said at the end as the boat sunk the life boats were useless
it had to be cut because it was a standalone bit that didn't add to the film and could easily be cut if the overall film time got too long. Richard Curtis didn't really want to cut it but unfortunately he had to. but at least the fans of the movie still got to watch all the deleted bits and scenes feom the dvd extras 😎
It was a long movie and every scene was gold. Not all of it fit in the vault.
"Who needs Beatles when you've got Herman's Hermits?"
*horrified face* "NO!"
They said that in this yes
This movie is so under rated its so amazing
ThomasWinn1 Every time i see it i want to travel back in time to that era. What days. Also Rhys Ifans was top notch the way he entered in the film was amazing.
you're right,a very underated film.
A tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman a majestic and versatile actor who will be sadly missed RIP
I miss him too
Just another dead elite drug-addicted actor…that said, he was good.
I loved his character in this film
Felicity: "no, no...I enjoyed the company" HILARIOUS
"Radio What The Fuck?" Such a genius line. Such a damn shame we will never hear of Philip's genius ever again. Glad that we have the movies to remind us of it.
- what do pirates do?
- play records?
- NO! actual pirates!
- play actual records?
- and what's radio sunshine doing?
- PLAYING RECORDS! LOLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOL
"Right, our motto was never wear purple with beige"
"Argh MOVING ON"
I just love that part
Another good motto: "Blue socks never go with white shoes."
"Life will be ecstasy, you and me, endlessly grooving"
Absolutely loved this movie. What an overlooked gem!
dave s I found out through the general advertising. I saw it in the cinema. People obviously only want to see crappy transformers
Midnight Mark had a very specific job, and arguably accomplished his job better than anyone else in the group, and that smile shows that.
this had some of the greatest casting i have ever seen. I love the Count and all the rest. Just a great film i am so sad that Mr Hoffmen is gone and that i can never thank him for working in this film.

This is my favorite movie of all time
such a perfect movie
Lauren Keenan this film is the radio dj bible
And yet it ‘failed’ commercially.
You know there are some great movies that lost awards to forgotten ones.
Sometimes art isn’t mainstream, but it doesn’t make it less artistic to those that like it.
Same here. LOVE LOVE LOVE this film.
"Why does the f word have to be in every sentence?""I'm right here""Oh fuck sorry"Laughed my ass off😂
One of many incredibly talented actors here who will be missed Phillip Seymour Hoffman RIP xx
Awesome movie, incredible performance from Bill Nighy...Music supervisor is genius, the selection of tracks could not be better...A+!
I can re watch this film over and over again and I’d laugh every time and none it gets old
Same here.
Its official: The Brits are kings of comedy
And Richard Curtis is the absolute King of feelgood comedy.
And it's good how one of the radio sunshine DJs was also in another British Comedy, "The Mighty Boosh".
" - And what a pirate do ?
- Play records !
- No euh... Actual pirates.
- Play actual records ? "
I love this film ! :D
"The weather is just... well you know..." golden
"Who needs The Beetles when you have hermits hermits." THAT IS FUCKIN' FUNNY!
This is what I’ve been looking for, for about 10 years. I saw the boat used for Radio Sunshine before I first saw this film, but after it came out. I knew it was used for the film, but wondered why it didn’t appear
My only non-regret about this scene not making it into the movie is that the Ennio Morricone track works so much better at the end !
This scene is....well, you know...and this movie was.....heaven....
“Radio whatthefuck?”
If this scene was gonna be cut, I sure wish they would’ve found somewhere in the movie to fit that line! He delivers it so perfectly!
Gavin’s “oh fuck, sorry” gets me every time!!!
That scene is funny, but I find it rather a standalone skit than part of the actual film. It's a closed narrative that doesn't fit the film, so I get why it hasn't made the final cut: breaking the momentum.
I agree but I also that's true for a lot of scenes that were left in the film. The stag night bit was also completely out of left field like that.
I love this film..it brought so much love and interest to my life. The interaction between the characters is perfect and even these deleted scenes is pure gold. GAH
"I'm not saying that because I'm fat but even fat people need to eat." 😂
i LOVE that Angus is dressed as an actual pirate.
i love the way he says "radio sunshine" fantastic!!!!
AND WHATS RADIO SUNSHINE DOING?
PLAYING RECORDS
FUCK! best bit of the film
LOOOVED THIS FILM ..... LOVED THE MUSIC ..... BUT I CAN SEE WHY THEY CUT THIS SCENE OUT :))
This is such a hilarious scene, I can't believe they cut it out!!
The first time we saw this, we were ROFL. Absolute gem! 3:00
Bhahahaha. Funny how they all think they're sneaking behind Quentin's back, when Quentin deliberately put Hermans Hermits in there to piss off the count n get shit goin...
That would've been the funniest part of the freaking movie if they had left it in!!!! That was great!!! I think i'm going to watch it again
"You've been fucking my wife"
"It was just once! It was an April Fools jokes."
Jesus! Don't hang around James Corden around April 1st. His pranks are fucking savage! lol
Ra.Dio Sun...Shine......
Such a line delivered while nodding his head is what makes Bill Night (Davy Jones anyone?) such a great actor
Love this movie. They should have added this in the film. Maybe someday they'll put it back and sell it as Director's cut. While they're at it, I'm sure there are additional scenes which could be added. I'd buy it.

Thanks for sharing. I've enjoyed.
Especially the moment, when they've noticed Quentin on their way.
0:26 Still gets me every time. And that zoom will forever be the best 0:54
Love the Animal House reference.
I could totally see The Count in that group.
I like how the movie consists out of several small story arks that are clearly seperated from one another like an tv series and watching this cut out Radio Sunshine ark feels like watching an lost episode.
Best movie ever .......thanks for sharing the bits they didn't share.
You are my favourite person on the internet right now. Thank you SO much for uploading this!
(0:47 ish) Who needs The Beatles when you've got Herman's Hermits? NOOO!
Hilarious scene! Just like the 'Meaning of Life' this should have been in the movie!!! Rhys Ifans, Bill Nighy and Philip Seymour Hoffman were made for this movie! No one better could have played them! Thanx for post!
My favorite scene in the whole movie!
Radio Sunshine's motto was "Who needs the Beatles when you have Herman's Hermits?" ;-)
This movie deserves more than just Oscars
Richard Citrus didn't want anything left out, in all honestly watching the commentary I think it was painful to do it
Well that's what you get for dissing The Beatles!
I think this movie would have worked great as a tv series, each episode a little sketch like this
BTW hands up all radio technicians/broadcasters who had to endure at least 1/15 of what happened at Radio Sunshine. On that part I felt some pity. ✊
Wow! Great stuff thanks for the upload!
This scene completely changed the movie for me. Lol
This is hilarious defo should have been in the film
An amazing movie, an amazing scene, and at 3:42 to 4:22, a wonderful music which I don't find the the title, and it gets on my nerves...
Just perfect =P I miss old rock...
We love you Mark
How did this not make it into the movie
Aaaand WHAT'S RADIO SUNSHINE DOING?!!!?!
PLAYING RECORDS!!!
...gotta love Thick Kevin
Aww young James Corden!
Best scene EVER! :D
Big Dave is here for the rock and roll rescue😂😂😂
7:07
Quentin:.... Groovy!!!
Gavin: YEAAHHH!!!

0:54 that reaction! that amazing acting! that the reaction i use when people piss me off saying something sucks.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, you'll be missed dearly.
This movie is like Lord of the Rings. Every time I discover extra content I'm mad it wasn't in the original theatrical version.
The guy from radio sunshine is that car guy !! I forgot his name. He interviews celebrities in the car.... He also has a show.
Did anyone else notice that Gavin is wearing an SS cap??
Why did they cut this scene? This is brilliant lmfao
Fawk Yui probably for pacing. Its a good scene but it doesn’t really fit that good with the rest of the movie
the movie time got too long and the scene had to be cut because it didn't add to the storyline. unfortunately.
WHY DID THEY DELETE THIS!?! JAMES CORDEN!!!!!!
LOL, i made a pirate radio on a roleplay server on SA:MP and i didnt know it was a deleted scene from The Boat That Rocked which is my favorite movie :D
oohhh thats a super great scene, sad that it is deleted from the film.
I love this crew
lol, poor Felicity. She handles those men well.
i love the boys moments in this
LOl.
"Where's mark?"
...
"With a girl."
What do pirates do?
Play records!
No, actual pirates.
Play actual records?
"Young Girl" didn't come out until 1968.
Mark!!!
You've got to love James Corden! :D
Omg I didn't recognize him xD
Let the evilness begin😂 as a former overseas operator I'm all about that
his motto means always faithful to our family
scene so iconic i got "radio sunshine" tattooed on my leg
" Radio-What the fuck?"
" When he has to press teh F-Word does he has to do it every single sentence"
" Right here..."
" Oh Fuck sorry"
Rewatching the IT Crowd and I'm just now realising Jen is Felicity.
As the count would say - "Why the fuck was this not fucking included in the fucking movie?"
"I'm good I have a carrot" :D
U know when bob fossil showed up it was about to get intense fr 😂
Does anybody notice that at 6:56 Bill Nighy claps while giving the middle finger?
+Max Wright Bill Nighy's ring finger and little finger are paralyzed.
+Vladimir Kool-Aid (The Poor Man) that took a quick dark turn
It's called Dupuytren’s Contraction.
Man, this SHOULD have been left in!
How did they get such a good cast for thos movie even the deleted scenes have well known people
jajaja, that part it´s great:
Quentin: "... radio sunshine's moto is who needs the beatles when you have Herman's hermits"
The Count: "Noooooo"
