Could you imagine putting your heart and soul into creating something, putting all of your time, energy, money, creativity etc and that thing becomes so widely popular and successful and then have someone make an untrue claim about it? When you have that happen to you, maybe then you'll see that he wasn't being a sensitive snowflake but instead took pride in his accomplishments and didn't appreciate someone who is well knowledged in the entertainment industry make such a claim.

1:30 As I didn't know this, I think an explanation is required for this part. An award winner usually have a shot time window to do his/her acceptance speech and thank people. But if the awardee keeps going, they start playing music as a warning like "all right now, wrap it up" if he/she keeps speaking the music gets louder and louder until no one can hear her speaking. That's what they do for the Oscars and I guess it's the same here.
