Neon Ballroom is their best album! I'd been a fan since Frogstomp buuuuut by the time Neon Ballroom came out you didn't have to be embarrassed to be a silverchair fan. The Young Modern album with Straight Lines was a trashcan departure from their established sound up to that point in time BUT I for one especially enjoyed it when it came out in '07/'08ish or whenever....I was listening to a lot of fiction plane and army of me and Black Joe Lewis and different alternative stuff and it fit right in! Emotion Sickness and Miss you Love are probably still my two favorites with Shade and Suicidal Dream coming in close for second!
Magical dude... seen them 4 times in Montreal....live...he was really on and so was the whole band for that matter...Noone meant it more than him and I think people felt the power(still do)
One of the LOUDEST bands I've ever heard....not to mention on point. They played with Nickelback in 1997 ( I think), and I'd see them over them twice on Sunday. Incredible
I especially like it that people were jumping and interacting with the music played, instead of filming and staring at they're phones while doing it. A special time that shows you, why cellphones still suck.
That's how I felt about Pantera and I'm getting to see them in 2 weeks with Metallica. Silverchair could maybe do an original lineup reunion and tour their first 2 albums.
Daniel said he pictured this song at a stadium where everybody could participate, like with Queen We will Rock You and then here his vision comes true 😁
1999: when I was 14 waiting waiting for 1999 to be over, dreaming of a better world from 2000 on... 2001 when I was almost 16, leaving home, family and friends from the Italian part of Switzerland to the German part of Switzerland and seeing in the TV the Towers get down in 2001... the dream of a better world was soon destroyed... This song was there to help us get thourgh this... 2022: More actual than ever: Politician making war, illness and high prices... this song should be still played in the radio and being known by most of people...
I got to see Silverchair live in the "Freak Show" era & it was a really good show...but holy crap, they weren't These guys! This (particularly Daniel's voice) is incredible.
When I was diagnosed with anorexia decades ago I was in denial I hadn't any idea why it was I just thought I was naturally slender ana's song is. beautiful at first I thought it was about a girl named ana
Yeah people aren't concerned with what other people are thinking of their musical choices and how many likes they will get, they are enjoying Silverchair play and that's fucking epic
Make it hard for you in the year 2000. Build it up for you in the year 2000. That's exactly what has happened. Its all going down the toilet watching the changes from the 70s till now. So fucking sad.
Some ppl are just born with musical talent, dudes were like 14/15 years old when the penned there first album 💿 frog 🐸 stomp, but I like neon-ball room better
I had a chance to see them during this tour and could not make it. I kick myself still. Even if they reformed, Daniel no longer has the grunge & edge in him, like he had before. They were in they're 20's, full of piss and vinegar. As a former bass player in a loud rock band myself, you can't go back in time. I understand this too. Musicians change. He's gone Bowie, which is not a problem. But sadly for people who hope for a reunion to recapture this feeling it will never return. Diorama, you could start seeing the musical shift happening. It sucks, like a comment said below, I'm in my 40's now LOL!! and miss this time in my life so much! Thank god we have footage. If your a old skool Silverhchair fan like me....-stone cold steve austin style-.....give me a hell yeeeaah!
Anti-Coviet regime !!! He was aware that in Australian a swamp of tyrannical Crocodile was there.....The artists have the sensibillity to detect them ! Silverchaid was a kind of radar, for the echos of the free peoples. ! !! VIVA SILVERCHAIR,
The soul of the artist an absolute who cant wait the action of the others, He create the tidal waves. Born in a famillily where everyone are activated animated cultivated.....the eternal springs of the free electrons exist in here, You live into the cosmic art of this universe, then when you go outside this, abruptly you can find so much of depravated lazyness and cold rich coward who only pumps every forces, and Never They will invest a penny into the civilization. Decadency of a crown with his cherished blinded. How do we process the changes ? The only mature way to exist is to be a fervent, Res publica who reinforce the political action and motivations of all, , To be an original constitutionalists.
The guitar is cool untill the bass guitar tracking those drums kicks in... if you can hear this transmission you are the resistance...D.J Rabbid Roddog
How did that huge voice come out of him. He was my teenage idol and his old songs still give me goose bumps. Ana's song especially. 🙌

He was like 20 since he made 1995 frogstomp when he was 15 years old and this is in 1999 so 19 or twenty
@@LilChay 20 here. Wrote some Frogstomp songs at 12 and others at 13. They were already playing several songs from Freakshow live when they were 15 😁
Ana's song is so real... for people with the same problem even more... helped me a lot
Magical dude... seen them 4 times in Montreal....live...he was really on and so was the whole band for that matter...Noone meant it more than him and I think people felt the power(still do)

Watching and crying. Want to go back in time.
Yeah the music now, does not tap into emotions like it did for us.
Definitely the best live era for the Chair
Best live era for everyone. I can’t believe they making bands extinct. Sad 😢
%100 🤙
I especially like it that people were jumping and interacting with the music played, instead of filming and staring at they're phones while doing it. A special time that shows you, why cellphones still suck.
What a voice! So powerful
This song is much more revelant now in 2021
Hear hear..
Yes indeed
Sooo much
It was just as relevant to those who were awake back then
Why?
My biggest regret is not being able to see them live 😪
I was lucky....some 20 years ago :)
I saw Freak Show in Hobart , Tasmania. Was epic what I remember. I was sober but to invested in girls lol
I got to see them once. I'm not sure if it was Neon Ballroom or Diorama, but it was in a theatre in Sydney with an orchestra... Such good memories.
That's how I felt about Pantera and I'm getting to see them in 2 weeks with Metallica. Silverchair could maybe do an original lineup reunion and tour their first 2 albums.

Que buena canción ésta de los silverchair. 🍷
Siento lo mismo. Tengo 40 años ahora y me parece estar viviendo otra vida que no tiene ligado con aquella epoca. Muy triste.
I feel like my face got smashed in by this performance!
So young for so Much Talent!👏
Ya traumatized kid. Makes great artists
I remember thinking this song was corny at the time of release but good lord this performance is a monster.
Daniel johns beautiful ❤

The heaviest intro of the 90's
💯 facts. The intro still is just as heavy today.

Dan wrote some of Frongstomp at 12 and the rest at 13 😁 with Ben at least partly composing/improvising the Drums.

My fight song. "We are the youth, and we are knocking on death's door"
That lead line he plays on guitar in the verse has the coolest splattery fuzz tone
Esta canción es mucho más reverente en 2023
Fuckin awesome
2024 noch Gänsehaut
best best killer of australia music
We were the youth! 🤣🤣
Always thought this song was way underrated. Plus Daniel’s doing a little Ian Curtis…good on ya.
Aw, I remember being the youth they were talking about in the song.
Love the chick on that blokes shoulders. She is having a blast. She is probably a Mum now with three kids!!!! lol
He’s so hot please-
keyword was....now he's just gone strange.
This is insane good Vocal work by Danial!
Here for the chair in 2024 and always
Still there
Damn yo his voice pitch in the last chorus is sick
Punk rock total

What happened?
Was this in Atlanta ?
Judging from the show (Rockpalast aired on WDR) I reckon it's in Germany. You could probably google "Bizarre Festival Germany Silverchair".
23 years laters and his lyrics were never that true
Yeah what was he like 14? God the standard of music has gone way down...
