Yes I visited with my stepmom in April 2022 and missed my college application deadline. I’ll never forget that day!

A narrated tour would be even better, I had some models that I was very interested in but have no idea what they were. Also what was the DMC DOING IN THE PACKARD MUSE7M?

I visited this museum about 15 years ago. It was closed for a private event, but people at the event welcomed me with open arms. I found it to be unique. It originally was a Packard dealership.

My first car was a 1955 Packsrd Patrician. Drank gas, but was a lot of fun with the load leveling suspension. A Chrysler New Yorker was sitting in the rain and the Packard garaged. I got one helluva deal!

My sons and I spent a few days in Dayton in July, 2003 for the airshow celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the first flight of the Wright Brothers, who were of course native sons of Dayton. We did a lot of things in and around Dayton, including a side trip to Auburn, Indiana to visit the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg museum. We knew about the Packard museum and even drove by it a couple of times, but, unfortunately it was never open when we went by it

Thanks. Great cars! I visited the museum a few years ago when my kids attended the University of Dayton. If I'm in Dayton again, I'll plan to visit. I thought this museum had closed so I'm glad to learn it's still open.

My buddy's dad bought a new all-black '55 sedan. It sure stood out in our southwest side of Detroit neighborhood. It just oozed with class. Just a few years ago a friend of mine bought a mint '50 2-door from an original owner family in Ohio. Gorgeous car. Back in the day they were THE car to own.

Seems like it was one of those really big Packards, like the Patrician or perhaps the 400 Hardtop, as a few of them came in all black colors. As one commnetor once proclaimed about one of them: "That was a really big boat". No wonder a car like that stood out in the local neighborhood!

@@jessechapmanphotography You will love it. My favorite Packard at that museum is the one Howard Hughes bought his fiance, but she didn't like the color. So, he parked it in a warehouse and left it there for years.

I visited in 2016, excellent museum. I remember seeing Al Capones Packard there. Do they still have the 1 of 1 Packard/Studebaker hawk convertible? It stated it'd never been titled, prototype I think? It was powered by a 289 cid supercharged V8.

    • @noodler696

The USAF Museum is the largest of it's kind in the world! If you're into planes beware, it will take more than a day to see it all! So Awesome. Remember, the Wright Bros. were from Dayton. The Imax and gift store may get you to open your wallet, but the rest...no charge.

I just want to say the background audio for this video is quite awesome.
This is some backrooms, liminal space, ASMR kind of stuff. Very atmospheric. Just play that over a loud speaker in an abandoned mall or something like that.
