G'day Roskoe. This is excellent isn't it!!! It's real girl power tune....hard to believe the original is by a man named Russell Morris. It was slightly before my time but this song came out in 1969. This was his debut song and nearly 7 minutes long. The song was written by Johnny Young who hosted Young Talent Time (abbreviated to YTT) which was a kid's singing show from 1971 to 1988. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@youmaderoskoe By the way, Kate Ceberano has a long career from backing singer in the Group The Models and band I'm Talking to a long solo career. She even played in Jesus Christ Superstar with John Farnham back in 1992.
I’ve always loved the original song by Russell Morris released in 1969 and when l read that Mahalia, Kate and Nikka had covered it l knew l had to check it out and definitely wasn’t disappointed in it. Another great cover is by Kasey Chambers, a Country singer covering Eminem’s Lose Yourself playing a Banjo would you believe. It is unique and l think almost rivals the original which l know is a big statement.
I always thought this was about someone being on a high (tripping) and being told to stop it and see the real thing??? I might be wrong lol...Yes the women in Australian music were a tight knit group...very supportive of each other.... 3 very classy ladies here Roskoe.... Great choice!
See Mahalia sing in Riding with kings.. her top range in phenominal
Check my Mahalia Barnes playlist..I may have reacted to that one.
Nikka a prince protégé. Listen to like a feather
I shall do just that 😎👍
