An excellent and scholarly presentation. Having myself been raised as a devout Christian, he doesn't present anything here that I myself did not come across in my own studies. But many Christians do not know these things. If they did, they might have to reassess their beliefs. The incongruity of Paul's teachings alongside the words of Jesus had always bothered me. There was no way they could be reconciled. For me there were just too many holes that could not be filled. The dissolution of my Christian faith was not a quick process, and it was quite painful at turns, but I made a commitment to myself to follow the truth wherever it led me.
As a Noahide I've already found this truth, the so called christian belief is a belief of lies and deception. The teaching of "Jesus " is'nt what's being taught it's the teaching of Paul. That's all the end. Believe in the One God and live. Shalom
Thank you. People always made me feel horrible about questioning the contradictions. Nice to finally see someone finally address it in a constructive manner.
Up until the last 5 minutes, everything in this presentation was taught to me by the church as a Christian.. It is the person of Jesus that that distinguishes the divergence. Christians argued about this for years. The council of Nicaea settled this for Christians. This was a wonderful presentation.
The early origins of Christianity are very interesting to me, even as a non-believer. Rabbi Michael Skobac's presentation style also makes the subject very easy to listen to.
I listen to Rabbi Skobac quite a lot :) I may be a heathen but he really makes sense...:)...I listen to his lectures whenever I feel worried about Life and such and he Comforts me evertime♥ Thank You Rabbi! ♥
This is my favorite teaching by Ravi Scobac , that I use for curious xtian friends. I have feverishly fact checked the teaching. 💯!!!! I now conciser Rabbi Scobac as one of my favorite LIVING teacher's
This was a profound critique and adds considerably to many of the questions I’ve come to have about the seeming contradictions within the New Testament and orthodox Christian faith. I would love to hear Rabbi Skobac debate Bishop Barron.
What Rabbi Skobac is teaching is to make sure that Judeans and christians understand the Tanakh. From Hebraic pointe of understanding. may Hashem Bless You and Keep You.
Thank you Rabbi. You have answered some of the questions that have been nagging me for quite some time. It’s sad that we all profess to follow the same God and yet we manage to make such a mess of it.
Thank you Rabbi Skobac for this, clearer than water, explanation about the claims of Paul. Thank you because through your work to help your fellow jews, many non-jews, like myself, have found the truth of G-d, maybe as an unintended consequence :)
We can follow Truth, or we can cling to tradition. It's a choice. Those who are insecure, need to reinforce their ethnic identity. For those who believe in a God of Truth, there is never a fear that we will lose our identity. Yehovah is as close as our own breath. I AM.
I appreciate your posting. However, your dating of Acts is way later than general scholarship accounts. The most likely dating of Acts is before AD 64, due to the absence of any mention of persecution under Nero or Paul’s death. Also, since there is no mention of the destruction of the second Temple (a huge event), it is safe to say it predates AD 70.
Paul himself put only a little over 14 years between Jesus ascension and his ministry. 2 Corinthians 12:2 KJV I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. This verse would have been written around AD47
It is fascinating that this religious man is so incisively adept at observing the nature of an alternate religious movement In listening to his explication, I find myself saying....”Yes, of course this is what happened...”
The Christian Bible contains 66 books. Of those 66 books 39 are what the Christian Bible considers the Old Testament. Those 39 books make up 75.5 percent of the whole Bible. The New Testament is made up of 27 books. Of those 27 books, Paul is considered to have authored 13, and some believe 14 books. Those 13-14 books make up about 28% of the New Testament. So, of the 24.5% of the Bible considered the New Testament, Paul authored about 28%. Using those figures Paul's writings make up 6.25% of the Christian Bible. 93.75% of the Bible was then written by others, besides Paul.
Thank you, Rabbi Skobac, for unmasking one of the great charlatans of all time (and, incidentally- and accidentaly -describing precisely the thought-process that I and so many others who have left xtianity, and come to Judaism. )
If the Jewish Rabbi Jesus of Nazareth ever found out what Saul of Tarsus did to him and other people's thinking in Jesus' name, he'd be VERY, VERY upset!!
I am not a Jew. I was raised as a Catholic but have different views now. When Jews talk about being "God's chosen people," do they mean as an ethnic tribe, or as a belief system?
To be part of God's chosen people means to be part of the covenant people. Anyone can enter in that covenant nation by going through a similar process that Ruth the Moabite did (Ruth 1:16) by accepting upon themselves to join this people and their common destiny, past, present and future.
I am an independent freethinking protestant christian and I don't believe Jesus founded Christianity Jesus came a jew and left a jew and is still a jew forever. Christianity in general as we know and understand it was founded by the apostles and most especially the apostle Paul also called the apostle to the gentiles. I respect and am in peace with the Jewish people and faith. God bless you all Shalom. MAGM.😇✝️🙏🕊🌈🇵🇷🇺🇲 17:03
Thanks so much! There where Many messianic movements in the first century. What may have happened is that these movements where turned into one. Especially after the destruction of the temple. Makes sense considering the inconsistencies. Speculation..
This was a superb lecture. Have you done similar studies on Islam, Quran & Muhammad? I am aware about Christian scholar’s take on it. But I would like a Jewish perspective on Islam.
I am glad that I came across this discussion. The more angles of analysis, the better... regarding all the ‘sacred texts’ or scripture. I would ask about why the ‘universal path’ has never been openly preached by Judaism to the ‘gentiles.’
Btw, after watching your great video (thanks for all the research and organizing it), I see some striking similarities between early Jewish Christianity and the contemporary Chabad movement. Particularly, in Chabad, most now believe that their late rebbe *is* (not even was) the messiah and that he will be resurrected as the messiah again. (Some believe that he is even God, but that doesn't appear to be their mainstream... yet) Personally, I feel that the concept of Jewish messiah had morphed: from something quite grounded, i.e. being an actual living king of Jews, into a part of metaphysical category. Apparently, per your video, this hashkafa had started much earlier than our times, at least since John the Baptizer. This is unfortunate. IMO, the Arab Muslims are more sane in that regard. For most of the mainstream of their religion (Sunni and esp. Salafists), a Caliph is an actual person, who, they believe, can be installed back. They're quite dogged and adamant in the way they go about pursuing it, politically and militarily. Jews used to have the same fighting spirit, but, sadly, it appears to have died with Shimon Bar Kohba (A"H) and R. Akiva (Z"L). We really need that spirit back now, IMO. Now that Jews have our land (almost) back, we lack the political and social will and do what's needed for true sovereignty and establishment of true messianic age (avoiding any eschatological associations, of course), because we sort of attach all kinds of otherworldly expectations to the latter.
Good study and fairly accurate, even though our perspective of the bigger picture differ. I would like to point out Saul and his family provided tents for the Roman army (like a 1st Century Halliburton) and was very aware of the logistics years before Jerusalem was sacked in 70AD.
At 34:15, there appears to be an honest mistake on your part, Rav. "We're in charge of Palestine," [the Romans said]. At that time, the Romans had not yet renamed Judea into Palestine.
From your mouth to Hashem's ear and Arm. (If Geezus and the Dunker returned and saw what had been done in their names, they would nail each other to the Cross.)
Paul in the Christian view is regarded as equal to Jesus and more since he is quoted more by the christians when Jesus' words will just not suffice. It would not surprise me to know they pray to him.

As a muslim I think more people should be watching these videos
Thank you. People always made me feel horrible about questioning the contradictions. Nice to finally see someone finally address it in a constructive manner.
When g-d says something is forever, it means forever, not that I’m going to change my mind, no forever is forever 😊
i was a christian.. pray for me... i am trying to leave that religion

♥ well, there are some things in the bible which seems very odd; slavery, murder and genocide...among a few things
Where does it say such things in the bible?

Paul sounds a lot like Joseph Smith.

Although I'm a Muslim, I very much enjoy your content. Very interesting talk. Valid points throughout. Thanks for uploading!
His invalidation of the Jesus is a direct invalidation of Isa of the Quran and there fore an invalidation of the Quran itself.
I’ve questioned many teachings in act’s.
Lately I’ve been questioning christianity .
We can follow Truth, or we can cling to tradition. It's a choice. Those who are insecure, need to reinforce their ethnic identity. For those who believe in a God of Truth, there is never a fear that we will lose our identity. Yehovah is as close as our own breath. I AM.

always good to hear you speak Rabbi, the honesty and historical truth is good to hear. one day I hope everyone would learn this truth.
thank you so much. I have been in deep need of information and spiritual guidance after leaving the false Christian faith. Thank you!

Thanks Rabbi Skobac, very interesting lecture.
i don't think Paul invented christianity, but i do think he corrupted it and that today the bible is mainly his words, and not the words of God.
The Christian Bible contains 66 books. Of those 66 books 39 are what the Christian Bible considers the Old Testament. Those 39 books make up 75.5 percent of the whole Bible.

I really, really wish this Rabbi were my spiritual mentor. Oh, so much I could learn from him.
Thank you, Rabbi Skobac, for unmasking one of the great charlatans of all time (and, incidentally- and accidentaly -describing precisely the thought-process that I and so many others who have left xtianity, and come to Judaism. )
It is our duty to expose Paul to all christianity in the world.
If the Jewish Rabbi Jesus of Nazareth ever found out what Saul of Tarsus did to him and other people's thinking in Jesus' name, he'd be VERY, VERY upset!!
Fantastic layout of history... Really amazing. The Rabbi left no points indone. Thanks really opens our eyes to today's view of Paul.

Christians follow paul instead of jesus
I am 24 years Christian and have never followed Paul instead of Jesus. That’s like saying the Jews follow Moses instead of God
Im A Judeo Christian and love watching your video's... keep pushing the truth

thank you Rabbi Slovak I really appreciate your thought, they are always insightful and helpful. Thank you for your honesty.

Thank you Rabbi Skobac.
Some solid arguments. Thank you.
Paul's teachings completely contradict the teachings of Jesus.
Can you share some examples of how Paul contradicts Christ Jesus?
Yes Paul invent Christianity.
Excellent presentation!
Rabbi I am an avid listener of your lectures BH
this is a great lecture.. I learned a lot
I am glad that I came across this discussion. The more angles of analysis, the better... regarding all the ‘sacred texts’ or scripture.
I would ask about why the ‘universal path’ has never been openly preached by Judaism to the ‘gentiles.’
Where it is written in the Torah, that gentiles have to follow the Noahite laws etc.?

i'm late to this video. very well done and presented.
Why would someone believe what was written in a book 2500 years ago at a time when people didn't know where the sun went every night?
Try figure that one. Do your part
Are you sure they didn't know where the sun went? What makes you so sure that you know for certain where the sun goes?
Excellent summary, thank you.
I'm still a Christian, just not a follower of Paul.
Good study and fairly accurate, even though our perspective of the bigger picture differ. I would like to point out Saul and his family provided tents for the Roman army (like a 1st Century Halliburton) and was very aware of the logistics years before Jerusalem was sacked in 70AD.
Paul of Tarses must not been capable of staying within Judaism. He must have had a hostility towards the people. 😢
At 34:15, there appears to be an honest mistake on your part, Rav. "We're in charge of Palestine," [the Romans said]. At that time, the Romans had not yet renamed Judea into Palestine.
Well said. The paul-cult.
This was really helpful and interesting, thank you!
Nice job Michael!
that was brilliant
Did Paul invent Christianity? Of course he did.
And your proof for such a large claim is?
From your mouth to Hashem's ear and Arm. (If Geezus and the Dunker returned and saw what had been done in their names, they would nail each other to the Cross.)
Paul in the Christian view is regarded as equal to Jesus and more since he is quoted more by the christians when Jesus' words will just not suffice.
It would not surprise me to know they pray to him.
Flavians invented Paul....and "Paulianity" they follow today.
Brilliant lecture.
Thank you for me to other perspective view from Jews.
Now I know about jews and xtian are long different
very good, excellent!
No, but he had a big hand in the Beatles.
Christianity is roman propaganda
poul who corrupt the scripture of christianity by teaching jesus as A Elohim God that is mistake
love it
Good information!, I don't trust Paul !
I left Christianity to follow the teachings of Matthew's Jesus.
Enlightened. Maybe im jewish🙄
