A WOMAN who burnt her face after falling headfirst into a campfire says she has no regrets about the tragic accident. In May 2020, Halie, 29, from Grassdale, Australia, suffered horrific burns on her face, neck and chest from a freak accident whilst camping 100 metres from her home.

We’ve seen so many women stick by their man after an accident. Thanks for showing a video of the opposite
This is so true 💯❣️
I personally know 4 men that have stuck by their wives after accident and in illness, so it's not uncommon. My man is one of them.
@@milobar100 yes but the amount of men who leave their wives after they get breast or cervical cancer is also common
Yeah I thought this for a while. There is Turia Pitt I saw ages ago but defo seen more the other way.
Imagine using someones traumatic life altering event for their own biased agenda?
What happened to her is tragic. I wish more details of this story was shared. She fell into a fire face first and did not react to it burning her skin. Was she heavily medicated/drugged? Did she have an underlying health condition? So many unanswered questions but I am glad she survived.
I was wondering that too!
Same questions I asked..meds..alcohol..medical condition..this just doesnt make sense.. glad she survived but ..my brain is scattered..
They didn't mention seizures her excuse was she had a miscarriage and needed alone time, it makes you think if she was heavily medicated or possibly someone else did it and that part was kept out for unknown reasons she doesn't want to say.
According to her fundraising page, she says she fell in the fire after drinking with a girl friend - her Instagram page is linked in the video description and her fundraising page is accessible through that

I love when she said," I look at myself like a burn survivor and not a burn victim"...You may not be able to control the situation but you can control how you respond💖
Most burn victims are people that were hurt by other humans.
Excellent, we decide how to respond
Well said

I used to be a fry chef. A year ago, I had an extreme dizzy spell relating to endometriosis while standing in front of the deep fryer and nearly fell face first into it. All I can say is, watching this, I feel extremely grateful, and this woman and her husband are absolutely amazing.

For those who are wondering what "exactly" happened keep reading (but please it is heartbreaking for her so please be compassionate 🥺❤).
After a quick search on Google I read some articles/interviews by her and here's more informations :
- In the article they said that her friend Kenzie was actually there from the start and they actually HAD a few drinks yes (as stated on her Gofundme), her friend was asleep in her swag and was suddenly awoken by strange noises and saw Halie head first in the campfire not moving
- It is said that Halie fell asleep on her camping chair which had then tipped over and sent her face first into the fire (which was actually burnt down to the coals). Her friend rushed over her and pulled her from the sizzling hot coals and in a mumble she asked her friend what happened and to pour ice cold water over her burnt face to cool it down. Then they drove back to Halie's house and she stuck her face under the shower/Mathew (after being awoken by Kenzie) ran her face under cold running tap water while Kenzie called the emergency. Later, paramedics arrived, injected her sedatives and rushed her to the hospital/ICU
- She was placed into an eight day coma and stayed two and a half months in hospital and only person for one hour a day could come visit her due to COVID
- Doctors believe that her pain receptors burnt off so quickly that she couldn't feel anything
Her friend saved her life that day ! I'm glad she's still here to tell her story, she's strong and is a beautiful Phoenix as she likes to call herself 🥰💖
It's actually the opposite. When you get a 3rd/4th degree burn you can't feel it in the aftermath BECAUSE there are no nerves left alive. My boyfriend will complain and complain if he got a small burn or a scab BUT once he got a 3rd degree burn covering his entire foot at work and he was COMPLETELY unable to feel it. I would wash his foot for him and he couldn't feel any of it which was almost convenient. On the areas where he got 2nd and 1st degree burns (lesser burns) he could still feel some burning.

Totally agree. She should simply tell the real truth.
@@criticalthought5698 ye, you dont really exactly just fall over asleep unless you are deprived of sleep, so either she was drunk or maybe she had a seizure or something like that
Stress is enough to cause weird symptoms too
it could have been a seizure, or a suicide attempt. either way, the cause isnt really important imo compared to how shes dealt with it so well
She said that was the theory.. she obviously doesn’t remember why that happened. She could have fainted.
Part of this story is missing ... Which I understand wanting to keep it a secret but ...falling asleep into a fire and not noticing it their is something up with that.
I would get that checked out cause it could happen again but next time while you're behind the wheel of a vehicle so definitely see a doctor.
She definetely left that out, she wouldn't have just fallen "asleep" in fire if there wasnt something else, that's why doctors use pain stimulus to meassure alertness, if it was a medical issue that she can't not control she would've dissclosed it with the story, so either she might be ashamed or guilty of the reason, drugs or alcohol probably
She was drinking and if she had a lot of smoke inhalation from sitting so close to the fire it would've been easy to pass out like that and not wake up

She fell asleep drunk in the chair and fell face foreward into the coals. It got her very badly to get all her hair and everything too. Sad. Because i know she was drinking to drown out the psin of lising her baby.
Who cares of what exactly happened. It’s none of our business. It’s about how she lives now with her scars!
Im always amazed at the level of mental health a person achieves in tragedies like this. She genuinely sounds happy. Its beautiful.
Sameeee like she’s sooo inspiring
Wellsaid bro
That smile before she lifts her arms up makes me feel such joy. That laugh, those giggles, smiling so bright.... lovely
I have nothing but empathy and admiration for this woman. We all know that when it rains it pours. Sadly, I think that the grief of her loosing the baby may have caused her to try to overdose and she fell into the fire as a result. The trauma of it all was probably blocked out her consciousness.
Stop trying to make up things that didn’t happen. She did not take any drugs. It was an accident.
@amity I didn't say she fell asleep. But it is far more likely that a person would be unresponsive to burning hot coals to the face following a drug overdose rather than simply falling asleep. It's one thing to sleep through an alarm when ur exhausted, but I guarantee that if someone dumped ice-cold water on your head you would instantly wake up. That is not always the case when you are unconscious from an overdose because the central nervous system is severely depressed.
@@user-ui7tn1fq2b Ok. Then you tell me what happened. Saying you simply "fell asleep" in hot coals is not truthful. The shock of the fall alone, then hot coals to the face would be more than enough to wake you instantly. On the other hand, she told us she was feeling suicidal in this story, drugs and alcohol are the first things people turn to in these situations. The numbers are there you do the math.
@@choochd who cares? all she needs is support from us, not people telling her she’s lying. It’s her business, not yours.
Maybe the women has health problems that caused her to fall... or she fainted and didn't realize thats what happened.

Aw that's awful. No one deserves that, no matter how much they were drinking. And it sounds like she needed a night to escape.
woke up to the smell of cooked face
That is some serious sleep deprivation when you can quietly snooze face first in hot coals. She said her friend FOUND her face down in the coals. Which means it was a few minutes while she slept peacefully while her face cooked in that campfire. Yeah... I'll just totally accept that explanation.
a burn like that will put you into shock, its not that she slept in the fire, she was unconcious in it
Her home was only 100 metres away from the campsite, why would she not just go home if she knew she needed someone with her. It doesn't all add up. Camping alone in a very distressed state too!
Coulda passed out from smoke inhalation
@@urallineed420 outdoors? Mostly everyone I know shifts when the fire smoke starts blowing in their faces and if they don't they start coughing til they do. It doesn't add up. Most people that pass out from smoke inhalation do so indoors like trapped in a house fire. She was probably drunk, too drunk for her husband to see so she had him send her friend then tripped and hit her head on something in the camp fire. She only lived 100m from where she was camping, why not go home. it's weird. Maybe she was burning something with toxic fumes, plastics or something more noxious. She is not beautiful and she was an average looking woman even before. Why is outer 'beauty' so important??? As you can see, it means nothing, can be lost in a second and will anyway disappear over time. It is extremely shallow to think like that. Yeah, I wonder how far along she is in the healing process. If she's back to normal, or what. It's still very recent by burn standards. Not that she should have to wear it, or she doesn't look good without it, but that fancy skin balaclava thing actually looks pretty cool. I can't understand how if she fell asleep she wouldn't be woken up as soon as she fell and especially once she was starting to burn. I am not trying to be rude or insensitive, I just honestly don't understand it. Was she on medication or drinking heavily because of the miscarriage and being depressed?
Good for her for loving herself again and not letting the experience destroy her life!
I was thinking she was drinking, too.
Could it be the pain was so intense that she passed out? Like shock?
Right? You would think that being on fire would wake you up from almost any substance you took.
It's possible she was too close to the fire and inhaled too much smoke. This can happen as people are trying to make a fire bigger by breathing air onto it. Smoke inhalation can cause people to pass out very easily and quickly.

Beauty on the outside is a social construct. Brave survivors like yourself are changing that construct. Your husband is to be commended for loving you, not your looks. I think you are beautiful.
Beauty “ on the outside” is not a social construct as every creature that reproduces sexually has marked secondary sex characteristics that are visable and signal the opposite sex that it’s baby making time. Birds have flashy feathers and songs, lions have manes.... beauty is absolutely a natural phenomena, it’s the ability to overcome that biological desire of physical beauty that is the social construct.
It's not a social construct

I think she inhaled too much smoke by staying too long near the bonfire, which caused her to have not enough oxygen and then just fainted straight into the burning pit. Really unfortunate but also lucky that her friend came just in time.

Her spirit is inspiring, and her husband deserves credit too. I think a lot of people forget the vows of “in sickness and in health” and “for better, for worse” and “to love and to cherish”. He was with her through (what I assume), the worst time in her life. He stayed by her side when she was in the hospital, and having surgery after surgery. He loves and cherishes her for who she is. I’m sure there were times when they both wanted to give up, but they stayed together and I hope they can continue to love and cherish each other for the remainder of their lives.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart. And lean not on your own understanding. In
all your ways, acknowledge HIM. and HE SHALL GUIDE your path. Proverbs 3:5-6
God Bless and Take Care

Attitude is everything but it starts with how we feel. When you feel great it’s so much easier to have a positive outlook. Something I struggle with
I'm really glad that she's trying to look on the positive side of things and she is beautiful inside and out ,both her and her husband ,the fact that they lost a baby and this horrible accident ,I couldn't even imagine the struggle 🤦♀️,much love to the both of them though ♥️
Bless her heart. It’s so bizarre that she just fell asleep into the fire and didn’t wake up?? Maybe she had been drinking? It’s just strange.
I wrote this exact comment under the video but here it is in case you haven't seen it :
That still doesn’t explain her story
Very, very, very strong young lady!!! So happy you are alive and handling this so very great!!!
Bless your heart for surviving some of the worst things any human being should ever have to endure; yet you are strong & beautiful & stand as a testament for others not to give up. Life is a gift! Yay you! ❤
I’m so sorry honey, everything’s gonna be alright, sending lots of hugs and prayers

Oh my goodness! I couldn’t imagine. May Godbless her. And I am glad her husband stood by her. Praying they maintain their union and she continues to heal 🙏🏼
I admire her strength and she really came through her ordeal with a positive attitude that we can all learn from. I think that's the take away from this. It really doesn't matter how it happened.
As a burn nurse it's so nice to see a burn survivor with so much optimism!
i feel so bad for her.. but im happy she's alive and she's living her life. that poor girl, i want her to be okay
I still think shes so beautiful outside and so purely sincere inside. 💞😍
Thank God for the love and respect she is getting from his husband...he knows her value...🥰🥰
You are not entitled to her full story. She told us about her life as a burn victim and we don't have to know anything beyond that. Saying that she's lying or that there's something sketchy going on is deeply disrespectful.
*Amen and AMEN 😇😇😇* Sharon in SC
For people saying they don't believe her story and asking why is it that she would just lay there face down in a fire... Have you ever laid face first in a fire yourself? When your body is in immense pain it can go into something called shock and you can pass out from too much pain. I got hot oil in my eye while cooking and I remember not being able to talk or move. I would probably not be able to move if my face was in a fire if I had to guess. Thank God she got rescued and is still here! What a beautiful Angel! She is stronger then me that's for sure.
She's so beautiful both before and after that tragic accident. I loved that she said the experience made her see herself as a survivor and not as a victim, that's Strength that comes from the LORD! Also that she said she was like a phenix and felt reborn. It sounds like it awakened her spiritually and now her Light shines through brighter than it ever has before.. God bless her for blessing others with inspiration to except ourselves just as we are Today, everyday.
Yess Gurl...LIFE is Beautiful. ❤️
She's not beautiful on the outside anymore...so just stop
It really doesn't matter how did it happen! I just want to wish her all the best! It will take her a lot of years and patience to heal and she has great attitude to make it real.
Wow girl you’re so strong. Very encouraging. Thanks for sharing your story
Best of luck to you in your recovery! Matthew is the most Australian man I've ever seen. Haha.
You are an amazing beautiful lady. It's so incredible what you've been through & come out the other side so much more stronger & positive! Blessings to you both & so heartwarming to hear your hubby obviously loves you, your personality, your beauty from within & your marriage for you & not how you look . I really hope you continue to heal so well & have a wonderful, beautiful & long life together ❤
I think scars are one of the most beautiful things in this world every scar adds to a beings story.
Incredible that he decided to honor his wedding vow of in sickness and in health. He's a modern day Hosea... committed no matter what... an example of God's limitless devotion. I hope they have a houseful of children. They'll be some of the best parents ever.
Thank God she's alive and that she's in such a healthy, upbeat spirits, but I can't seem to understand how a person can fall face first into a bonfire and not react to getting away. She just laid there face in fire and her friend pulled her out, thank God for that, but it's just all so strange to me. She was grieving, took some time to be alone, but then felt lonely and calls husband to have a friend come over and an hour before the friend actually shows, she gets the bonfire going, falls asleep and face-plants the bonfire?!! Again, thank God she's ok but it's just strange!! BUT I'LL TAKE THE STRANGE AND ALL, BEING THAT SHES ALIVE AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS AT THE END.
She had been drinking and fell asleep in a lawn chair, that tilted into the fire
@@ericcartman9042 thanks for the explanation, I dont recall hearing that part and it makes sense now...thanks hun.
I have no words to describe the admiration I have for this beautiful woman
when she said it happened in 2020 I started crying because that's so recent. people can take years to overcome that..I'm so sorry for her. I'll be praying every single day.
She has been through so much. But she is so strong and beautiful. I wish her, her husband and family so much love and joy.
What a beautiful couple. Her husband is a stand up guy, and he's got a darling of a wife.
Girl.... your scars are still fresh. You look GREAT!! Gonna be a few more years of scar revisions, some laser treatments... you've got lots of beautiful moments to look forward to. - Burn ICU RN

@@Xait Thanks. :)
Yass! So many of us need the same resilience that she has!
Thank God she alive that's all that COUNTS!
Getting burned hurts. Whatever made her pass out was just more than falling asleep. The pain should've jolted her awake. I'm glad she survived and look to be healing well.
Deep depression can make you really low energy. I had dizzy spells all the time when I was at a very low point despite having a blood test to say things were fine. Collapsing in the street and everything. Maybe she fainted into the fire? It would make more sense than her falling asleep and not waking up despite being on fire.
Your body would wake up from your face being melted off. She had a miscarriage and went to a bonfire, bonfires include alcohol and sometimes drugs, she was probably drunk.
@@romancewastaken more than drunk, tranquilized. 💉😳😂
@@user-jb7tq7ko7e her story doesn’t really check out, she just seems like she isnt telling the whole thing
@Woke 999 I don't think it was alcohol, drugs would make sense. She could have overdosed and regretted it, so she called her husband. It makes more sense than her just 'falling asleep' and would also make her too sickly to get up.
That’s the thing, she’d wake up real fast from something like that, unless something in her system highly prevented it. Highly, like anesthesia-grade. Hopefully an anesthesiologist can shed some light here. And if she were to have spent minutes with her head in the fire, wouldn’t she have lost her eyes?
What a fabulous woman. All my love to her. ❤️
The amount of confidence she has in her self, body and scars is astonishing 🤍. Such a strong soul we can all learn something from her 🤍🤍.
My prayers for Halie & her husband as they grow together on her positive journey after such a horrible accident🙏🏼
@William Sharman Howdy!
I'm so positively blown away about her overall being! What beautiful woman inside-out!
She is amazing i cant imagine what she is going through and i send love and health to her and her family ❤️
There's a girl that this exact thing happened to in America but her husband couldn't hang after to getting hurt (what an ARSE) you guys need to find her and do her interview next. She's such a jem and inspiration just like this young woman.
Same thing happened in India. A woman of similar case , she married a guy. Had a kid with him and he left her. It was mutual
I would leave in a heartbeat
There’s a lot of holes in this story .
How sad that the fire occurred only 100 meters from her home. Such a brave survivor.
Strongest and prettiest woman I have ever seen ❤️
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. THAT'S STRANGE. I KNOW THINGS CAN HAPPEN. I JUST FEEL WE PUT OURSELVES IN HARM'S WAY. MAY YOU CONTINUE TO HEAL.
RAH RAH RAH!!!!!!
Inner beauty is worth a lot
Priceless
If you go to her Instagram listed in the description, then go to the gofundme linked in her insta, she states “ I fell face first into a fire pit after having a few drinks with a girl friend.”
This is the link we are missing.
I certainly appreciate how your husband stood tall as a real ought to when tragedy strikes. we don’t turn or backs on our loved ones. for better or for worse, in. sickness as in health till death till we part , you and your husband are to be cherished by all for your great love for each other.. you both are wonderfully blessed. Nana and papa wishing you well.
Beauty is truly only skin deep, it's what's in your heart that matters. My bro got burned when he was 8, chest, face, arms, &hands. He had the compression suit and multiple surgeries till he was 16 and he made the decision that he was done with the operations. He is now 40 and handsome if I do say so myself. He is a hard worker and loves his boys. Thanks for sharing your story. Prayers for continued success, keep your head up.🙏
