Hi Mak - Nice fly! The local bass would be all over that one - as is fished as a leech or weighted fished on the bottom as a sculpin minnow or tadpole. Because I fish on or very close to the bottom I add bead-chain to a lot of my flies - like the way they ride with the hook-point up. On thing that I thought I would suggest is to remove any sharp edges from the hole in the bead-chain eyes with a fine file, 320 grit sandpaper or a small wet-stone; some of them have a burr that can abrade a fine tippet. Cheers! Hank

Thank you Hank,, I agree they do seem to have sharp edges , this is a great pattern like you said , works well in bottom, also great in Winter,

Nice adaptation of zonker.... I'm going to pierce strip at the hook and tie it in that manner... clouser style with fur riding up

Very nice streamer- you don’t have many in your video collection. What about other colors? Would this imitate a sculpin?

Beautiful pattern Mak. The loop collar really brought it together, gave it volume without weight. Sometimes that tail length scares me, do you get a lot of short strikes? Of course you could always trim on the water if that is a problem, lol, I guess I answered my question! That was a cool hook / twister you have, who makes it? I use a small crotchet hook to twist then hackle pliers to wind. Thanks Mak! :oD

Thank you Joe,, I am glad you like it , As for the tail I agree what said, Large fish swallows these in full,, The twister is just a tool I found to twist Dubbing, because I couldn't find actual twister lol,,..
      Regards ,,,Mak 😊 😊 😊

Hey Joe - Hows it going? I make many of my own tools and have a couple of easy-to-make (from stuff around the house) dubbing loop twisters. The one I am using now is made with a piece of coat-hanger and egg-sinker(s). I have another one that is made from coat-hanger, a couple of fender washers and a hollow-wall anchor (the kind used for hanging pictures and such). If you want I can send you a couple of pictures - let me know. Cheers! Hank

@@hankvana2149 Hi Hank it's going good. Sounds like a pretty heavy duty twister, some of those coat hangers are heavy wire. I like what Drew Chicone uses, a paper clip bent into crank, lol, he really gets going with it too! I have a legit twister that came with a vise I bought, just haven't used it yet. You have a lot of cool ideas Hank, thanks.

Unusual fly for me but works great in salt water silvers in scandinavia.

    Another amazing pattern, my friend.
Question.....are you the Mac that had flies for sale on Ebay a couple years ago? Buzzers, if I'm not mistaken?
Anyway, I always love watching you tie and listening to you as you do. Love to meet you in person someday, but I don't really see that happening.
    Have a great day.
    Peace.

By putting the eyes/weight on top of the hook shank you are creating a jigging streamer. Placing the weight under the shank and close to the eye will create a swimming streamer.
