We puerto ricans truly know our roots, a bit of everyone, some African, some Spanish, some Taino, some Criollo and last, but not least, some 100+ years from American culture. Believe me when I say, we inheritage with passion our culture from all of them and make our own with everything blended in it! #YOSOYBORICUAPAQUETULOSEPA! #DEPURACEPA #CONLAMANCHADEPLATANO #DEAQUICOMOELCOQUI #PRLOHACEMEJOR #BORICUAAUNQUENACIERAENLALUNA
yes african as in from african and we know this because in puerto rico slaves were allowed to keep much pf there culture so in p.r you will see alot more african culture than most places in the new world, remember spain ruled P.R and britian ruled america. spain had free blacks so the blacks they brought to p.r were treated a little different. we are proud of our culture and this is african with our twist on it.
@@AnaQuinonez1 absolutely, you know they say we are "Boricua hasta en la luna"...no matter where we go we be "Porto-Rock"...no harm intended but just wanted to point out there's many of us that frown on the 122 years of the gringo colonization (of course, before that it was the Spaniards).
As a Chicagorican, I’m so privileged to follow our culture and pass it on. Don’t get lost in the system folks! This is our heritage! Beautiful!

I think they know this, they are celebrating their African ancestry, btw they are African only difference they speak a European language.
