Fun fact: character height actually affects healing los when it comes to ramps/stairs. The difference between a goblin and a tauren can be fairly big given those scenarios. XD
The goblin diff. I remember in halls of infusion you were able to walk through/under the railing as opposed to going around/jumping over it just before the frog boss. That blew my mind when I first saw it
Thanks Dillisan for doing this! I've been a Holy Priest main since Cata and it's been rough this season. I am KSH and have all my portals but I have stopped at that for now. One tip that I wish I would have started earlier is go Archon for pugging. I was Oracle from the start of season 1 all the way to KSH and only pug and it was rough I switched to Archon and it helps with your mana so much in a pug environment when most won't wait for you to drink and everyone stands in everything. The free flash heals are amazing! Once you get to a certain key level it will be way harder to get into groups. Everyone wants a Shaman or Disc priest. You got this! We believe in you.
I have already learned what players stand in, and the need for mana with Tanks obviously not tracking it...just you wait! xD A few people have mentioned playing Archon, deffo something to check out. Thanks!

18:45 wasn't the shaman's fault, the bombs explode on their own if nobody runs into them, usually causing a wipe. Someone actually *has* to run into them so the bomb only hurts them, usually the tank does it, but anybody with decent defensive CD usage can do it.
My dream of seeing you play shadow continues, but for now this one looks super fun, can't wait to see how it goes! Great video. KSM is really tough this season compared to previous ones.
I don't see holy priests too often so this'll be a fun one. Also, if you queue for a follower dungeon, you can get mage food before starting any keys for the week.

Hello! Priest healer main here. I'd recommend getting the WA "Dibs on PI". It notifies you and highlights whenever a DPS uses an offensive CD. If you want to go more in depth with it, you can also customise what CDs to alert for. It is not active in raids by default, for that you will need specify the characters name you want to track to prevent getting spammed.

Hey so as a spriest for the bloods and the orbs for the affix you can use psychic scream to deal with that root. Under the priest side of the talents there is a choice that removes snares which I thought would work on city of threads last boss but I'm not sure if it's bugged or what the deal is with that. Also questionably epic is a good website to see check what trinkets are in what order of being the best at least that's what I use for my healers and it has a Sim tool as well
It's a big step up from previous seasons, and the toxicity seems to increase because of it. Let's hope I run into some of that, it'll make the video more entertaining for you guys, even if I suffer! :D
@@Dillisan You should be able to check on your alt. In the quest log you have The War Within chapters at the top of the list. If you have any chapters the campaign isn't complete on your alt. If you DONT have any chapters you have completed the campaign. I just checked on my main and an alt.
@Dillisan there's a bit of awkward setup with the macro required for it so if you have any issues it's 99% that - basically just gives you a glowing notif on your screen when the person you've assigned as your PI Buddy hits a cooldown.
Unsolicited advice, Ellesmere has a PI weakaura that tells you who and when to PI as they use cooldowns. It's really nice but also kinda depressing when it never tells you to PI because people don't use CDs haha.
I will let you know, although oracle may be good, running archon for lower keys is a lot easier due to halo being so OP Something to think about, I’m 2781 on my priest and archon performs well in higher keys once you learn it, it’s just a steamroll for low keys. Looking forward to the series! 😊
Since you mentioned a lack of AoE healing being an issue, a tip: Oracle holy priest has HUGE AoE healing every minute or so if you use Guardian Spirit on yourself and then press Premonition of Piety (or Clairvoyance, which gives you Premonition of Piety as well as the other 2 Premonition abilities). You spam heal yourself and as long as you're at max health and overhealing yourself you'll be able to push everyone's bars up really quickly. You might also want to give Archon a try-it's a lot more straightforward and equally viable in M+.
It's been a while since I last played priest but I remember they have circle of healing, holy word sanctify and prayer of healing so is it a problem with the healing numbers for the spells or is it because spells became talents and they aren't taken in favour of a stronger single target heal build?
Holy priest still has those talents, but you don't even take them in a raiding environment anymore because they do essentially nothing while being a huge mana suck. It was better in DF, but with the stamina buffs in TWW they hardly move bars and it's a waste of a GCD. It's even worse in a 5-man environment. We pretty much always take the single target build because it's so much stronger. I've heard of people who do play CoH/PoH builds in M+ but by and large it's not recommended. Sanctify still gets used regularly but it only works when the group is stacked, so it's less useful if you're running with ranged DPS.
In dawnbreaker, when the first boss does the globe thing when she hits 50% hp and 1% hp and you need to mount up and fly away to dodge the thing, you are in absolutely no rush to leave the ship, you just need to be outside the globe when it explodes at the end of the cast and make sure you get an light orb before the debuff kills you, ive said this multiple times in dungeons when i have healed that people should just chill and let me heal them to semi full before they leave the ship since there is absolutely no rush to leave it. also the dispel on the first boss does not actually do that much damage (actually now that i think about it the cleanse itself might not do any damage at all), it gives everyone some healing absorb and a dot while the healing absorb lasts, but the damage itself is not that bad and that is actually the main thing why i keep telling people to not instantly leave the ship when the boss does the globe explosion attack, if they are even somewhat low and they don't let me cleanse the healing absorb debuff before they rush off then there a chance that they die. some small tips that i could give as an holy priest enjoyer myself is to keep spamming fade, not only will it take aggro off (tho you should never have it anyway) there is talents that makes it give you 10% damage mitigation, so you can have 10 seconds of 10% mitigation with 20 second cooldown, that is 50% uptime which is really nice, its really good and you should always press if if you know you gonna take damage, no matter how small or big. and i can see on the footage that you're holding apotheosis quite a bit, its an amazing cooldown when you need to do large amount of healing in short amount of time, it can also be used as DPS cooldown if needed since it lets you use chastise more, however i dont personally like using it this way but in lower keys it can be used to DPS. also symbol of hope should be used rather commonly, especially in fights where you take a lot of AOE damage and you need desperate prayer to come off CD faster (like dawnbreaker last boss, or grim batol first and last boss and especially the last boss in city of threads), also in higher keys it can really help with some of busters with tanks, while ive been doing some +8 and +10 with a druid tank friend of mine, the obsidian beam does a hard hitting buster on the tank when it begins, on druid it can absolutely destroy them because its pure magic damage and druid tank struggles with magic damage a bit, so when he uses ironbark i immediately use symbol of hope to refresh it so he has it for the nex one aswell but overall solid healing so far and really good video, i actually recommend using archon instead of oracle since oracle can get confusing and rather unreliable while archon lets you pump out consistent healing with halo and lets you worry about other things than the oracle premonition cycle but this is just how i feel about the spec and hero talents ofc.
Yeah I just came back to the game and fired up the holy priest. Had no idea we were dumpster tier and went archon. Glad I did, it’s great. I’m guessing everyone takes the lightweaver talent? I miss using the restitution talent
@@woopig4419 yeah everyone uses lightweaver since its the only way holy priest can really heal which is pretty dumb, if you don't take lightweaver you just gonna spam flash heal only instead of changing between flash heal and normal heal, just makes you go OOM faster
I think the grip was detected as a mouseover over the DK, even though your mouse only very briefly passed over the DK's frame? I have no idea, tbh. That was indeed very weird.
I'm going to be real people are so thirsty for healers on a regular basis everyone is boosting healers. I'll be sitting in 10's and 11's thinking man i should have taken that 600 healer. On a regular basis the healer is the lowest rated person the lowest item level across all keys. Playing a off-spec DPS is way harder when you are waiting hours to get into keys.
to be fair you did choose the hardest dps in enhance. and Holy Priest is not bad, none of the healers are. and they had a bunch of tools to deal with things. You should also look into Macroing your oracles to a bunch of spells to not lose out on them. I can help with them if you need
Hi! I’d recommend dropping the ElvUI party frames and switching to Cell. A friend suggested the addon to me, and at first, I didn’t want to replace ElvUI and Click-I’d gotten used to it over time and had everything nicely set up. But Cell actually has everything built-in, and even better. Click, mouseover support, debuffs, options for showing all buffs, healing indicators, etc. It’s the best addon for healers. I'm not a high M+ player, but I’m currently pushing most 13+ keys, so I think this advice is worth considering. Let me know how it goes, and good luck with your holy priest!
13's are very respectable and your input is valued. I would pushing that sort of level but no longer play with the team. I don't like playing around with my UI too much and many download mine, so I won't be changing it (at least not this season). I've used a combination of mouseover macros and Clique for years and it works for me. Thanks for the comment!
personally I strongly prefer archon for all content. the healing from halo isn't exceptional, but the crazy amount of free flash heals you get while it's rolling every 60 seconds lines up well with a lot of big damage events.

You could switch to archon to have the halo burst aoe every minute. Sadly we don’t have any utility beside the two minute md. Please give us a kick atleast Try disc it’s really funny

Three days?! Right at the beginning of the season? I got KSM week 1, took a further 2 weeks to get all my portals, but then I wasn't doing many keys :(. I have been tempted by Resto, I need to see how it is compared to Holy :D

Why dont you Mouseover bind grip, and just click on the frame? Maybe it is just me, but i find it difficult with all these things out, to actually hit the right person Without using the Unitframe :D ..
I use both ways and have done for years. Sometimes in the heat of the moment, I don't know who is who, I think that was the case with the grip messup here, otherwise I may have just used the frames :D
Played Holy up to 2200 rating, it was easy but now at 8-9+ keys im starting to see the problem they have.. no big aoe heals, so last boss in city of threads is abit of a problem when u have to heal aoe dmg first and then have to top people before a big slam comes right after, so in pugs there are always one that dies there when they dont have any defensives left.
80 percent of RETs i see only drool on dps buttons, never use utility and when asked about it they cry. the ones that play it 100 percent are group savers
@@celery4564 Weird. Either way, your Warband doesn't work like that I'm afraid. All your characters are part of the Warband, the 4 you mention are just your favourites for the fancy character screen.
It does, just not with the recommended build for M+. Weaving is much preferred, I would lose so much more if I went for AoE healing, it's not a nice trade-off.
For you maybe, not for many others. Different skill levels, experience, time allocated, disabilities. Throwing around the word "easy" is something I try to avoid using, cause it's really not.
Have you considered that not everyone's very good at the game? Or have the time to play and improve? KSM is very hard for some players, and it's a massive step-up from previous seasons. Gear isn't enough to get you KSM.
@davideglass compared to the amount of loot you're handed, I found it a lot easier to pug in the first week as a healer, compared to season 1 dragon flight and season 1 shadowlands
@@madhudson1 Loot is only 1 of the ways to make content easier, and while you do get loot thrown at you, there are some pretty tough gates to get past still. For example, trying to get past 619 ilvl is super hard right now. The keys themselves are much more difficult this season, this is why people think KSM is harder to get. I play at a fairly decent level (~3.2k rio on multiple chars in past 2 seasons) and this season is definitely more difficult.

For healing blood dk, you need to track their runic power. If they are at full bar you can chill. You only need to panic when they have no power.

I also thought that there is a talent for root removal for Fade, but it turns out that it removes all snares, not roots, so any slows.

I'm not a high M+ player, but I’m currently pushing most 13+ keys, so I think this advice is worth considering. Let me know how it goes, and good luck with your holy priest!
13's are very respectable and your input is valued. I would pushing that sort of level but no longer play with the team. I don't like playing around with my UI too much and many download mine, so I won't be changing it (at least not this season). I've used a combination of mouseover macros and Clique for years and it works for me.

You know that you can fear the affix and clear it in a seconds, which make priest one of the best option to deal with this, right ?

personally I strongly prefer archon for all content. the healing from halo isn't exceptional, but the crazy amount of free flash heals you get while it's rolling every 60 seconds lines up well with a lot of big damage events.

Holy isn’t bad when it comes to throughput but as you saw you struggle in aoe . You could switch to archon to have the halo burst aoe every minute.

Sticking to +2 keys is not going to give you a hero track item in the vault, you need a +3 for that.
I never said that was the intention. I'm just starting out and in no rush, so I'll stick with +2's for now.

Three days?! Right at the beginning of the season? I got KSM week 1, took a further 2 weeks to get all my portals, but then I wasn't doing many keys :(. I have been tempted by Resto, I need to see how it is compared to Holy :D

Why dont you Mouseover bind grip, and just click on the frame? Maybe it is just me, but i find it difficult with all these things out, to actually hit the right person Without using the Unitframe :D ..
I use both ways and have done for years. Sometimes in the heat of the moment, I don't know who is who, I think that was the case with the grip messup here, otherwise I may have just used the frames :D

Played Holy up to 2200 rating, it was easy but now at 8-9+ keys im starting to see the problem they have.. no big aoe heals, so last boss in city of threads is abit of a problem when u have to heal aoe dmg first and then have to top people before a big slam comes right after, so in pugs there are always one that dies there when they dont have any defensives left.
80 percent of RETs i see only drool on dps buttons, never use utility and when asked about it they cry. the ones that play it 100 percent are group savers

To save any "warband" mixups just remove the character from your warband.

@@celery4564 Weird. Either way, your Warband doesn't work like that I'm afraid. All your characters are part of the Warband, the 4 you mention are just your favourites for the fancy character screen.

This season 2500 feels like what 3000 felt like last season
I will probably still go for 2500, but not sure if it will be part of the series. I may continue but remove restrictions for that :D

Hearing holy has no aoe heals feels so bizarre
It does, just not with the recommended build for M+. Weaving is much preferred, I would lose so much more if I went for AoE healing, it's not a nice trade-off.

to be honest KSM is so easy that it doesnt even mater what u play, as a Holy Priest Main i never had problems in the Keys i did
For you maybe, not for many others. Different skill levels, experience, time allocated, disabilities. Throwing around the word "easy" is something I try to avoid using, cause it's really not.

"easy" is very subjective. There are many different skill levels amongst players, what's considered easy for you, can be really hard for others.

I dont agree at all. Getting KSM is so, so easy this season. With how blizzard is giving loot away, its never been easier
Have you considered that not everyone's very good at the game? Or have the time to play and improve? KSM is very hard for some players, and it's a massive step-up from previous seasons. Gear isn't enough to get you KSM.
KSM is objectively harder than it has been in previous seasons.
@davideglass compared to the amount of loot you're handed, I found it a lot easier to pug in the first week as a healer, compared to season 1 dragon flight and season 1 shadowlands
@@madhudson1 Loot is only 1 of the ways to make content easier, and while you do get loot thrown at you, there are some pretty tough gates to get past still. For example, trying to get past 619 ilvl is super hard right now. The keys themselves are much more difficult this season, this is why people think KSM is harder to get. I play at a fairly decent level (~3.2k rio on multiple chars in past 2 seasons) and this season is definitely more difficult.
