Drum Cover by Bryan Macaranas 'Reflection of Me' by Daryl Braithwaite Taste the Salt Album (1993)

Many years ago when I just started drumming, I would play along to all sorts of music. Daryl Braithwaite's album 'Taste The Salt' (1993) was one of those discoveries rustling through the CD collection laying around the house; a mix of my parent's / sister's and mine. Our household always had music, and plenty of it. This album led to the discovery of one of my favourite Australian drummers - John Watson. In fact he's one of the reasons why I've dreamt of playing UFiP cymbals for many years. This song 'Reflection of Me' to this day, stands out to me out of the entire album. The groove, the production (and the solid drumming of course) but most of all, the guitar solo/outro. I consider this to be one of the best guitar solos ever; tasteful, expressive, unpredictable, beautiful guitar tone and slick playing. I believe it's non other than the late Stuart Fraser on guitar. Killer track, killer playing by all musos. I'm glad I was able to cover it and share a track that helped shaped my drumming, and train my ears with great musicianship.
