Awesome Recs! I’m currently reading Black Enough and enjoying it! I adore The Hate U Give and On the Come Up and so many of these are books I really want to read! I highly recommend The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, it’s a historical fiction with a lot of things reimagined that deals with primarily slavery but so many more dark parts of America’s racist history. It’s so incredibly genius, fascinating, and hard to read but so so important.
Thank you for sharing your recs. I have a book recommendation for you. Eddie & Alan is written by black gay author Anthony Amiewalan. It sheds light on the complexities of relationships between men, the fluidity of sexuality, and what happens when the lines are blurred.
I'm a little over halfway through "A Song of Wraiths and Ruin", and it is SO GOOD!!! It's so unique, immersive, and beautifully written. I'd love to see it as a series. It also has begun to fill this hole within the fantasy genre that I didn't really notice before. I'd love to read more fantasy that deals with various African themes/legends/cryptids/spirits/etc outside of Egypt
It is a prequel to The Hate U Give, so you don't need to read it first. However, it is interesting to see Mav first as a father in THUG and then how he grew into that man in Concrete Rose.
1) love the channel 2) when she said she wasn't Black i did the "What you talking about Willis" face lol I thought she was like Trini American or something...ok my Beautiful Melanated Sista
I found it funny how u said u are not black by your appearance u look indian asian which is a European term u are black u wouldn't call a Somalian or use a name of a country as a skin tone for example " what colour are u im indian - indian is not a colour its a country think about that 🤔
