Oh how did I miss this video. Glad I caught the title on my screen. Just always enjoy my wanderings with you. Despite the clouds- stunning. and what lay below - so gorgeous. The lakes. I'm glad in my younger fitter days we make hikes like this. I can so put myself on those narrow paths and relive the thrill. Just such beauty all around you. Wow. Thank you 🙏 for this wonderful episode. Enchanting. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
We are humbled by your kind words. We sure would have loved to descend into the crater as well. It was windy, but the clouds gave a sense of mystery to the hike. As always thank you for joining us for this hike ☺️
Such a beautiful place to spend some time! Rim hikes are always so enjoyable, we've hiked a few gorge rims but never a volcanic one! That wind is something else! So glad you all didn't get blown off the edge. Hope life is going well! - Andrew, Candice, and Riley 🐾
The wind was really strong, but luckily much of the hike was well protected from the wind. It made for such beautiful moments in the cloud though. We have also done quite some beautiful ridge hikes here in Switzerland. The mountain ranges are really nice. With vacation, life is great. We sure hope it is the same for you.
Looked quite atmospheric with all the cloud cover and it constantly changing. Still there were some fantastic views to be seen along the way. It reminded me a little bit of Scotland where the weather can change in minutes in the mountains. I see they're also spoiled on these trails also with flag markers. i must admit I sometimes wished I hiked trails that are marked out more. 🙂
The flag markers were only for the trail run that was going on. The markings were still decent along most trails we went on. Compared to your own adventures, the trails were cluttered with signs 😁
They are really beautiful, so we are sure you will enjoy the Azores. Just a tip:the islands are very small, so we recommend moving between islands a lot 😊
@@MattandRachelTravel We visited Sao Miguel and Pico. Both for roughly a week. On Sao Miguel there was enough to do for a week, on Pico we were almost running out of ideas. The ferries in between the islands are nice, but without a car, you are very restricted. So moving between islands seems best. Some islands don't really require more than 2-3 days.
This place looks so incredible! It's been on my bucket list for quite a while now. I would love to go someday. Cool video, it looks like a great experience 😊
It sure is a great hike if you have little time on the island. The views from above are really beautiful along the entire trail and lots of bird-song around. In our personl perference, we did prefer Madeira over the Azores, but the Azores are very pretty. Less for hikers, more for watersports, though.

Very atmospheric 👏Always great to be in and above the clouds and with some wonderful light on the mountainside. ATB, Ian and Meg 🙋♂🐶
Thank you Ian. We prefer the setting above the clouds, but in this case it was magical ☺️. Thank you for watching
Love the clouds 😊 they made this even more beautiful
We also were constantly amazed by them. Thank you for watching ☺️
What a great .ic of color in the landscape! I love the cloud effects. Beautiful scenery on this one 😊
Thank you 😊. We had a great time in the clouds ☺️

This is again a well made video of you. It's so beautiful there. Wonderful nature and landscape. It was very interesting to watch. Many greetings 😀
Danke Jurek. Es freut uns sehr, dass es dir gefallen hat.
No way! We really want to go to the Azores. The views are stunning, even with the fog. It almost makes it more magical.

@@HikeForHappiness Thanks for the heads up! We were thinking at least three islands.
