- This is the finished product for my first ever brew. That video was getting a little long, so I decided to make this a new video. I got a little caught up in the amount of foam, or lack of it, when I poured. It's another rookie thing that I'll eventually figure out. I haven't figured out the carbonation side of things and I know I should have some gas hooked up to the keg for dispensing, but I didn't want to have it attached all the time. I had the spunding valve to show it had some pressure, but of course it wasn't maintaining the same level after pouring. What I'm not sure about is how much pressure to use when you're dispensing.
One thing I forgot to mention in the video, it came out a little lower ABV than planned, but still somewhere just under 4 percent. Not bad.
Hell yeah! Congrats on a successful first batch!
For carbonation, use a carbonation chart to find what psi to set depending on your temperature and desired carbonation level. You’ll need a CO2 supply on the whole time after fermentation is done. It will take a week or two to reach your desired level. CO2 dissolves easier the colder the beer is.
Love your videos so far!
Looks like a great result for the first batch! Welcome to the world of beer and TH-cam! Cheers 🍻
Thanks! For a guy that has drank a lot of beer, I'm finding out how little I actually know about it! Haha.
Hell yeah dude stoked it came out first try! Set your C02 tank to serving pressure like 11 or 12psi and leave it connected to your keg, no need to take it off and put the spunding valve on. Cheers dude!
Looks like a great result.
