Rewind to 1984. I am 20 years old, and newly saved. I am completely taken in with a cutting edge church that worships like no other. (taken in for all the wrong reasons). Worship was great (all the wrong focus). The preacher was spot on (because I didn't really care to understand the word of God for myself). Bottom line - these churches come and go, eventually they dry up, usually people who attend become church casualties. What they need is prayer.
I understand why they call the Worship service an Worship Experience. It was amazing! We went to the Inside Elevation this year (2017) and it was worth wild. The staff were super helpful and the volunteers were awesome! We left recharged and encouraged. Great job bro, keep up the awesome work and peace be with you!

I just wish things weren't so manufactured, rehearsed, I just feel like it drowns and suppresses the Holy Spirit to move and do something new. everything seems to have a measure of excellence that is performance and "feeling" based. I welcome anyone to help me have a sound spiritual understanding of this.. One thing is for sure though, God is good, and this church understands and stands for salvation. hey Pablo, may God continue to bless you with your walk with HIM. its good you seek HIM through sunday service, but just to give you and advice, never completely (100%) rely on churches, pastors, etc. God gave us all his word (bible) for everyone to read and spend time with HIM. pastors are as human as every single one of us. I cannot understand why people have such a problem with Christians being happy and singing and dancing. The Bible tells us to rejoice in the Lord. The Bible tells us to sing praise to God. You don't have to be bored out of your mind to worship. God wants us to be happy and cheerful, He tells us that in the Bible. Many of the Psalms are songs. There's even an entire book called "Songs" in the Bible! Rejoicing in the Lord IS worship, because that is His Will! And another thing, God gave us technology to use, not to ignore.

The word of God is not subjective. Everything you do has to be by Gods standards, within the boundaries of the Lord. Just because something makes you “happy” doesn’t make it right. Fulfilling the flesh satisfaction isn’t what you should do. Satisfy the Lord by bringing glory to His name. This music isn’t anything but beats and modern ways to please the flesh of today’s world. It distracts from the true worship of God. Sorry, but this isn’t my opinion. This is the word of God.

The lights? Well here's the thing, today's generation is more technicallogicly advanced than any other in history. If you want to hold their attention long enough to get the word in them you have to approach them on a level they can relate to. No, the WORD doesn't change but the method of teaching and presentation must. The way the word was presented to the generations before will not work on the current generation. The number one goal is to bring people to salvation and to equip them and disciple them and to do that effectively you must do it in a way that is appealing to them and that they understand. It's not comfortable to you? Fine. Find a church that suits your needs. You don't like the dancing? OK, don't go to a church with dancing. David danced, it's biblical. Jesus was a complete radical to "church as normal" for His time. Perhaps it is time to let church "of of the box". Perhaps the "great falling away" isn't what you think. Perhaps it's those who can't perceive the new thing God is doing for this hour. God is going after this generation and He isn't going to use "the old ways"to do it . He is not going to pour new wine into old wine skins. Don't limit what God can do because it doesn't fit into your perception of church.
That verse was, in fact, used in the proper context just not in its entirety. If it will make you feel better I will adjust it to include the entirety "Behold, I am doing a new Thing! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." The thing is God is doing something on the earth He has never done before and He is going to do in a way He has never done it before. We need to stop trying to dictate how God will move based on the past. He is the master creator and is always going to do something new to accomplish His purpose. We need to open our hearts and our minds to God working and moving in ways that do not fit into the accepted molds we have become familiar with and comfortable with. We don't want to miss what God is doing today because we are expecting it to look like what He did yesterday. Good work on using the big word though. Had to look that one up. 😁
I think you're forgetting the the biggest problem here and that is, if you are not being Holy Spirit led, who cares how much technology you know or how to use it or or have all these different techniques, if it is not the Holy Spirit leading you, this church, the preacher, whoever it might be, any church, none of this will matter. And yes God does want us to be happy but that is not why he put us in this earth but to reach the souls for his kingdom...to praise and worship him yes, you are correct....but in spirit and in truth! Not just out of emotion the question here is...is it holy spirit lead thats what you have to question yourself every service every church that you go to and if it is not, then there lies the problem my friend. It is the end of days and we need to ask God for discernment for these type of things only the Holy Spirit can show us and direct us and if we truly get into the word we will know if it is from God or not. Remember worship is not for us it is only actually only for the Lord and in return the Lord's presence moves in our midst and therefore the joy comes.

I find that when I visit places like this all you have to do is have the guts to start talking to them and they'll normally open up. Read 1 John and see if you are truly in the faith.
I have been a fan of Elevation Church for a while and I love their music and pastor, so I'm not bashing them. What I just don't understand is why the head tech guy was so serious about distractions instantly getting pulled out of the sermon. And by what he was talking about at the time was the little kids. If a baby were to start maybe start to laugh maybe, I believe that is normal and awesome. Maybe I have the wrong idea about what he said. But life happens sometimes, and it shouldn't be over the board serious about something like that. My thoughts.
Christian Grossetti I think thats a great point you made! I can definitely see both your side and his. I'm a worship leader and tech engineer at a church by where I live and we also try our best to eliminate distractions so people can really experience God without any interruptions. Do things happen? Ofcourse. And we don't freak out. We just learn from prior mistakes so we can take proper action to eliminate those future distractions. We do it for Jesus is what it really comes down to haha but I think your point was awesome and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and checking it out!

I watch Pastor Furtick and I believe he is a true follower of Christ. He has not given me a reason to feel otherwise. Until then I'll suspend judgment. My only issue is what is the motivation behind why people are excited ( not you Pablo) to attend this church? Is it b/c they want an experience that will motivate their flesh but leave their spirit empty? Or do they want a true relationship with Christ? Even Jesus said you worshipme with your lips and you heart is far from me. Do they attend b/c they want to be apart of something popular? Or do they attend b/c they are truly being fed the word of God? Is this church getting away from what God called them to do b/c they are more concerned with appearnces and popularity. My ultimate question is, is this church truly delivering people from bondage, preaching the unadulterated Gospel both good and bad, or tiptoeing around the truth. I will pray for this church and hope God's will is ultimately being done.
Great point and thoughts! Its always tough to tell but all we can do is work on being like Christ as best we can, get better each day, and allow God to do the rest for us and others. But i think you made a great point here!
To begin with, people have to know what the true gospel is. If you look closely , you will notice that there are seemingly, contradictions in the bible. The reason for this is because there is more than one gospel in the bible, the gospel of the kingdom set forth for the Jews, taught by Jesus and his diciples, then there is the gospel of grace taught by Paul set forth to the Gentiles in this church age. You won't hear this taught in mega churches but it is absolutely biblical. This is the reason there are so many DIFFERENT denominations because they pick and choose their favorite passages (Pentecostals, etc.) to hang their hat on. The only way to study the bible is to study it dispensationally. It took me 30 years to learn this.
What were the black curtains that separated the two sections for? I assumed they were there so then people could sit in there early but not watch the worship team practice because it can be a little distracting if you see people walking around but I thought I saw them up during the service but couldn't tell.
Aaron Zimmerman great question! I thought the same as you actually. But I found out the curtains are up to fill up the sections of seating closest to the front first, and as they fill up, they are broken down and moved back until the room is full. I found that it really keeps everybody together and makes the entering into the service a very orderly and clean process. Also allows the sections to be nice and filled to utilize all the seating and keep great energy in the room!

I think only young people like it because its loud and has dark concert look. I’m older and dont like that kinda stuff. I dont like hearing a preacher preach mostly about himself either.

I want to know where u are getting that from. Tithing is an act of worship to God. Being thankful for all that He has blessed u with. Phillipians 4:8 is what we all need to be worried about not tearing down our brothers and sisters in this valley of darkness. Jacob tithe before the law, Abraham did too. these things are a part of Cherem. Read about Achon in Joshua and what happened to him when he violated God about the tithe. Seed time and harvest!! So much wrong information you just said. So much out of context things as well. “Churches with Holy Spirit don’t grow to this size”. You sound misguided and lost. I truly do pray for people like you and people in these churches. I wish I could bring you to a church of God. I truly do, it saddens me to see videos like this....don’t satisfy the flesh, stay within the boundaries of God and bring glory to His name. Ask yourself a simple question. Do you see Jesus being apart of a concert service like this church has every Sunday? Sitting there while they “rejoice” in a night clubs environment....And the services which are motivational speeches and don’t speak truth or try to help save the lost, but keep your head up living in this world.. the Lord is sad...his day is becoming less and less Holy. 7:55 I used to have to mix from the side of the stage at my school. It was literally guesswork, just looking at the output level led's to guess the sound level.
I never cease to be amazed at the people that have bad things to say about Elevation church and Pastor Steven Furtick. Obviously never having watched any full sermons and how much scripture he uses and how right on point he is with helping people with real problems. Most of the stuff I see posted is from overly religious people who wouldn't know the real Bible if it was used to hit them in the head. Just because a church is BIG doesn't mean it isn't a true church that is working and serving God. Good grief.
Some people act like they've never seen lights and auditoriums before, as if somehow that was of the devil. This ministry continuously pours into my life and I can see the fruit of it in my own ministry. A big church doesn't always mean a big mistake!

I'm inviting you to visit Elevation Concord for a worship experience any Sunday at 9:30 or 11:30 am. I'd like you to take notes through the sermon and identify the places where he is straying from scripture. Since I began attending, I have a RELATIONSHIP with God that I never even felt at other churches. And I know many who say the same. MSBLS721 in order for you to know if Pastor Furtick is preaching biblical truths you have to study the scriptures, understand what the scripture is talking about(context), especially, the Old Testament. A lot of what is being taught in Christianity is false. It’s full of messages that make you feel good, and music geared to capture your emotions. A good place to start is understanding the purpose for tithing. When you do, you will without a doubt understand that tithes was never money and it was never required for anybody to pay a tenth of their earnings unless you were an Israelite farmer in which they were to pay to the levites. The church has manipulated the scriptures in order to have steady income coming in to better operate the business of church. No New Testament believer was ever required to pay tithes. There only obligation was to give an offering to support leaders who traveled throughout the world to spread the gospel and to seek the scattered house of Israel (2cor. 9) and even then you were only required to give what you God has placed in your heart to give after your needs were taking care of. Pastor Steve seems like a good bro who genuinely has a desire to do right and has reportedly given over $10mil. to help the community. However, there are few things that’s in question as it pertains to sound teaching, and how he and others of his stature make their money. I pray that you further investigate and began to ask questions. Your soul is far too precious just to take what anybody has to say as truth in these last and evil days. The scripture teaches us to, study to show ourselves approved rightly dividing the word of truth. Shalom

A lot of the songs played that day are on their "There Is A Cloud" record that they recently released but however there is a brand new song that they played called "Echo" that is not released anywhere yet. They only play it live at their church. I'm sure their next album will have that song on there.

I love this church and everything that they do. But they baptize in the father the son and the Holy Spirit and God told Peter to baptize the people in Jesus name. So these people may have repented and revived the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tounges. So it's really sad that all those people aren't truly saved. Act2:38 (where Peter declares the plan of salvation given by God)

Baptism is an outward act of obedience and proclamation that we are a child of God, but the act of baptism or how its performed isn't what saves us. We are saved by grace through what Jesus suffered on the cross on behalf of all our sins.
Krista Lehman Ephesians 2:8-10 is not gods plan for salvation. All that scripture is saying is that you must have faith to be saved. Acts 2:38 literally gives you the steps so so clearly, and you see these steps acted out all through the Bible when people are "saved". That's the most powerful part. If we are talking salvation , I want to see it done (people being saved) many times so that it's clear. Simply believing and living any way you want to live cause....grace bro! That's not a church and those aren't Christians. I suggest you study the apostasy, the falling away. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Holy means set apart, different, unlike anything else. That building and those people are no different than the world around us. You want to make yourself and sinners so comfortable that you love them all the way to hell.
This is different. Do you see any other religion with a church so modern? These people are crying out the name of Jesus in a way that's so untraditional compared to the hymns and choirs. But they are praising Jesus nonetheless.

Listen let me tell you perfection doesn't come in s day, everyday we are broken n being moulded. If you hv attain yours pray so others get to attain theirs so we all make it. It's not that you can't have fun while worshipping God. Psalm 95:1-2 says "1 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! 2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!" We can definitely sing a joyful song to the Lord bc of what He's done for us in Christ. I think what Lin is getting at is the fact that there are lights, stages, strobe lights that give off the feeling of a concert, honestly. My question is if they're using these extra things to produce worship in the hearts of those in the crowd. They may not be doing it intentionally but it can give off that vibe. Worship with other saints should be unified...all the lights turned off evoke a sense of "I'm here alone and I'm focusing on myself and God" when it should be focused on praising God together with the saints around you. Then, you can get into the content of the sermons and songs being preached and ask yourself where is the gospel in this? The true gospel found in the Bible, not a prosperity, watered down, people pleasing gospel that focuses on self rather than God which is what I get when I listen to their songs and check out their sermons. Just starting a healthy conversation in love!

I have been a fan of Elevation Church for a while and I love their music and pastor, so I'm not bashing them. What I just don't understand is why the head tech guy was so serious about distractions instantly getting pulled out of the sermon. And by what he was talking about at the time was the little kids. If a baby were to start maybe start to laugh maybe, I believe that is normal and awesome. Maybe I have the wrong idea about what he said. But life happens sometimes, and it shouldn't be over the board serious about something like that. My thoughts.
Christian Grossetti I think thats a great point you made! I can definitely see both your side and his. I'm a worship leader and tech engineer at a church by where I live and we also try our best to eliminate distractions so people can really experience God without any interruptions. Do things happen? Ofcourse. And we don't freak out. We just learn from prior mistakes so we can take proper action to eliminate those future distractions. We do it for Jesus is what it really comes down to haha but I think your point was awesome and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and checking it out!

I watch Pastor Furtick and I believe he is a true follower of Christ. He has not given me a reason to feel otherwise. Until then I'll suspend judgment. My only issue is what is the motivation behind why people are excited ( not you Pablo) to attend this church? Is it b/c they want an experience that will motivate their flesh but leave their spirit empty? Or do they want a true relationship with Christ? Even Jesus said you worshipme with your lips and you heart is far from me. Do they attend b/c they want to be apart of something popular? Or do they attend b/c they are truly being fed the word of God? Is this church getting away from what God called them to do b/c they are more concerned with appearnces and popularity. My ultimate question is, is this church truly delivering people from bondage, preaching the unadulterated Gospel both good and bad, or tiptoeing around the truth. I will pray for this church and hope God's will is ultimately being done.
Great point and thoughts! Its always tough to tell but all we can do is work on being like Christ as best we can, get better each day, and allow God to do the rest for us and others. But i think you made a great point here!

To begin with, people have to know what the true gospel is. If you look closely , you will notice that there are seemingly, contradictions in the bible. The reason for this is because there is more than one gospel in the bible, the gospel of the kingdom set forth for the Jews, taught by Jesus and his diciples, then there is the gospel of grace taught by Paul set forth to the Gentiles in this church age. You won't hear this taught in mega churches but it is absolutely biblical. This is the reason there are so many DIFFERENT denominations because they pick and choose their favorite passages (Pentecostals, etc.) to hang their hat on. The only way to study the bible is to study it dispensationally. It took me 30 years to learn this.

What were the black curtains that separated the two sections for? I assumed they were there so then people could sit in there early but not watch the worship team practice because it can be a little distracting if you see people walking around but I thought I saw them up during the service but couldn't tell.
Aaron Zimmerman great question! I thought the same as you actually. But I found out the curtains are up to fill up the sections of seating closest to the front first, and as they fill up, they are broken down and moved back until the room is full. I found that it really keeps everybody together and makes the entering into the service a very orderly and clean process. Also allows the sections to be nice and filled to utilize all the seating and keep great energy in the room!

I never cease to be amazed at the people that have bad things to say about Elevation church and Pastor Steven Furtick. Obviously never having watched any full sermons and how much scripture he uses and how right on point he is with helping people with real problems. Most of the stuff I see posted is from overly religious people who wouldn't know the real Bible if it was used to hit them in the head. Just because a church is BIG doesn't mean it isn't a true church that is working and serving God. Good grief.
Some people act like they've never seen lights and auditoriums before, as if somehow that was of the devil. This ministry continuously pours into my life and I can see the fruit of it in my own ministry. A big church doesn't always mean a big mistake!

I'd like you to take notes through the sermon and identify the places where he is straying from scripture. MSBLS721 in order for you to know if Pastor Furtick is preaching biblical truths you have to study the scriptures, understand what the scripture is talking about(context), especially, the Old Testament. A lot of what is being taught in Christianity is false. It’s full of messages that make you feel good, and music geared to capture your emotions. A good place to start is understanding the purpose for tithing. When you do, you will without a doubt understand that tithes was never money and it was never required for anybody to pay a tenth of their earnings unless you were an Israelite farmer in which they were to pay to the levites. The church has manipulated the scriptures in order to have steady income coming in to better operate the business of church. No New Testament believer was ever required to pay tithes. There only obligation was to give an offering to support leaders who traveled throughout the world to spread the gospel and to seek the scattered house of Israel (2cor. 9) and even then you were only required to give what you God has placed in your heart to give after your needs were taking care of. Pastor Steve seems like a good bro who genuinely has a desire to do right and has reportedly given over $10mil. to help the community. However, there are few things that’s in question as it pertains to sound teaching, and how he and others of his stature make their money. I pray that you further investigate and began to ask questions. Your soul is far too precious just to take what anybody has to say as truth in these last and evil days. The scripture teaches us to, study to show ourselves approved rightly dividing the word of truth. Shalom

I love this church and everything that they do. But they baptize in the father the son and the Holy Spirit and God told Peter to baptize the people in Jesus name. So these people may have repented and revived the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tounges. So it's really sad that all those people aren't truly saved.

Hi Esther, the Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-10 salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Baptism is an outward act of obedience and proclamation that we are a child of God, but the act of baptism or how its performed isn't what saves us. We are saved by grace through what Jesus suffered on the cross on behalf of all our sins.
Krista Lehman Ephesians 2:8-10 is not gods plan for salvation. All that scripture is saying is that you must have faith to be saved. Acts 2:38 literally gives you the steps so so clearly, and you see these steps acted out all through the Bible when people are "saved". That's the most powerful part. If we are talking salvation , I want to see it done (people being saved) many times so that it's clear. Simply believing and living any way you want to live cause....grace bro! Is not salvation and is never done like that anywhere in the Bible. God bless!

That's not a church and those aren't Christians. I suggest you study the apostasy, the falling away. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Holy means set apart, different, unlike anything else. That building and those people are no different than the world around us. You want to make yourself and sinners so comfortable that you love them all the way to hell.

We can definitely sing a joyful song to the Lord bc of what He's done for us in Christ. I think what Lin is getting at is the fact that there are lights, stages, strobe lights that give off the feeling of a concert, honestly. My question is if they're using these extra things to produce worship in the hearts of those in the crowd. They may not be doing it intentionally but it can give off that vibe. Worship with other saints should be unified...all the lights turned off evoke a sense of "I'm here alone and I'm focusing on myself and God" when it should be focused on praising God together with the saints around you.
Then, you can get into the content of the sermons and songs being preached and ask yourself where is the gospel in this? The true gospel found in the Bible, not a prosperity, watered down, people pleasing gospel that focuses on self rather than God which is what I get when I listen to their songs and check out their sermons.
