    The reason it's free to stay on BLM land is because it's public land. Not because there's no amenities.

    Today is 1/16/2023 I was watching your quartzite update video and you directed new people to come to this video, so here I am. What a nice video! I just started camping, last year. I'm a retired, single, female, with a Tab 400 teardrop. I've heard about Quartzite from watching "BoB" while being locked down during Covid.( I think everyone knows BoB, Right?) and I'm just interested in it. This video is great! I live in Michigan and would love to have a place to go in the winter, where it is warm. I'm subscribed and hit the bell notifications. So, I'm in! No questions, yet, just want to say thank you for helping me!

    • @jackiemueller205
      @jackiemueller205 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@byronlemay2166 yes! Cause it don't come here. Just like the people who think they support Quartzsite, you don't. Do you ever come here in summer? You should see the trashed campers left on in the desert. The garbage bags left at cross roads because snowflakes think someone comes and cleans up after them. You know who does that? We do! The people who live here and love our desert. Yes pay for the privilege of camping in the desert. Canadians and all non-residents should pay more, as federal lands are ...for the use of the American citizens...

    • @byronlemay2166
      @byronlemay2166 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jackiemueller205 My point is that more money given to them won't make it any cleaner...the trash left dumped and the wind blowing it around simply happen no matter where lots of people are. You have to decide if your town being a "tourist attraction" during the winter months or simply a dead truck stop off the interstate is more desirable. In that event the town would hardly exist and there would still be plenty of trash around...perhaps even worse. Pull over anywhere on the way to Phoenix and see all the garbage for yourself. If the BLM says "We don't pick up the trash because we don't have the money"...that's nonsense. And yes, I do support the town...by camping there and spending my money along Main Street for food and supplies. And I don't leave any trash, either. You want to punish everyone for the random, stupid acts of a few. You must be liberal, right? Try to realize that giving the government more money is not the answer...in most cases, at least.

    Thank you so much for posting so much valuable information... May you be rewarded one day with 1 Million subscribers... That is the only drawback and limit to boondocking. How much fresh water you have...

    • @SuiteTravels
      @SuiteTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you enjoyed it bluponi. The full time lifestyle isn't for everyone. It took us two years to decide to go full time. We started out with a 2 month trip followed by a 4 month trip. After that we were sold! When we boondock we carry 100 gallons of fresh and have a 75 gallon black. That seems to allow us to go about two weeks...if we're stingy with our water use! Have fun and make some great memories.

    When you get to Quartzsite if it's too hot shoot up to Prescott via the Wickenburg route..... What a view up the backway to Prescott thru very tall pines the further north you go..... A Federal Forest Campground called White Spar Campground just about four miles south of the city w/paved roads, bathrooms, water stations....almost certain they have dump too (No Electric)...... then go hangout at the public Square in town. City Hall is in the center of it surrounded with all kinds of cool stores and super big old trees with tons of shade
    Looks like New Orleans style bars on the west side of the Square and great Pizza on the East Side.....Great place to spend the day and about 30+ degrees cooler than Quartzsite
    We live in the New River area

      Hi Mark....glad you enjoyed it. We usually leave our chairs, door mat and other small things at our site when we dump and refill. Most everyone is pretty respectful and we usually have friends or make friends while we're there that can watch over the stuff we leave behind.

    This was very helpful, thanks. I plan to go next Jan 2022, that is, if the Omicron doesn't prevent us all from meeting up (fingers crossed). I'm taking a Prius from California, wondering if I should get it raised as it sits low, and I'm concerned about the rocks. Thanks.

    Remember etiquette ….if someone is parked already don’t hug up next to them. There is tons of space to land. If you see a group means they most likely hooked up prior. So go play and stay and start your own group of friends …. I love Quartzite. Oh not to forget Vans. Just subscribed the Lord is good. Just got my Van. Will miss AZ this year but Lord willing by next season.

    So if you're a first-timer who doesn't know anyone, but you'd prefer to not be completely isolated, how can you join a group without inadvertently nosing in on a group who doesn't want strangers joining them? I assume a lot of the groups know each other and return year after year? Also, if you want to unhook and use your tow vehicle to explore and find a spot, where do you leave your trailer while you do that? Do you just pick a random spot to unhook, go find a spot you like, and then move? Are there any organized social activities where you can meet people/make friends?

    Thanks for the info, had heard Quartzsite could be a little "clicky", and not what it's cracked up to be. You paint a different picture. Might have to put it on my list once I hit the road next year. Guess it was just another persons bad experience.

      @SuiteTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's just like "real life" and we're sure there could be "clicky" groups....but you don't have to hang out with them 😉. We hang out with mutual or new found friends and have a wonderful time. It's sort of like a RV park...if you go for a walk and say hello to folks they will usually respond kindly and walah - you've met some nice people! There are sure to be all kinds in a million campers. Hopefully you'll get a chance to experience it and enjoy it as we do. Thanks for coming along and have a Merry Christmas!
