He was a wonderful C&W singer. And as he called it "Country Jive" was his element.

Would have sounded great if he had done it back in ' 51.
Instead, sounds like a second rate C&W "B" side out take .
Proves he could have transitioned to C&W after '56.
There was something there. But not Rock n Roll..........

Came out right around the same time that Elvis' version was released, but just by coincidence from my understanding. It's a unique take on the record but somehow is missing the uniquity of the Elvis version.

Yep, Presley again owns another song....
Haley had been losing his fan base because after Elvis and Little Richard, "Rock" singing was forever defined as something Haley was incapable of. He probably went back to capture country fans..who knows??

@@icanfartloud Haley captured many countries. His music was adored by citizens of numerous nations. Some of his songs that did not do well in America were chart toppers elsewhere.

His songs were huge hits in Europe, over there he's considered the King of Rock and Roll

@@icanfartloud - Bill Haley was fluent in Spanish, so in 1960 he and The Comets moved to Mexico where they had success with "twist songs". On You Tube, he sings a cover of Chubby Checker's "Lets Twist Again" in Spanish. In 1965, they returned to the U.S. as there was revived interest in 50s Rock 'n Roll.

It just sounds like a copy of Dean Martin's version

Not as good as the Elvis version. Sounds more like Dean Martin's early 50s version..
